Had 2 nice races again today. :)

First one at Dragon Trail Seaside. The first lap wasn't very promising, There was a gap behind me and in front of me, thought it'd be a boring race and I'd be stuck to that position. But then at the end of the 2nd lap @turnupdaheat made a little mistake which allowed me to get closer and overtake him on the straight. The lap after that he really did turn up da heat. :P Had to drive that whole lap with defensive lines to try and keep him behind me, finish was close but I managed to stay ahead. Wasn't even for 1st position or anything but just great fun. :)

And the other one at the Nurburgring Nordschleife again with the Scirocco's. This time I had to try and keep @Nico_Ble99 behind me. :P He had a good chance to overtake me at Kesselchen after I made some mistakes and had a slow exit but he chose stay behind me. Then at Döttinger Höhe I knew he was in slipstream range so I thought he'd catch me by the end of it, but luckily I still managed to stay ahead. But he did come very close in the braking zone, almost touching the back of my car I think. :D But with no space to pass I was able to take the win.

I don't like the Scirocco very much but it was a good online evening at the Nür. Great racers, clean actions! Thanks! :)

That race seems a lot more fun from your point of view. ;) So many Scirocco's these days. I started way ahead because #2 got a disconnect. For some reason the grid positions won't change for the drivers behind. Looks a bit silly. :P

Does the GT3 RS really sound like this in real life? Because, somethin about the way it sounds rubs me the wrong way. I find it odd too that out of all the GT Sport videos that I've seen, this is the only engine noise that bothers me. It bothers me to the point that it's on the same level of distaste for me as the Autozam AZ-1 from GT6(it sounded like a hand-saw).
Probably because he shifted way before the redline. Why would anyone even do that in a videogame where you don't need to worry about blowing your engine from over-revving anyways... :irked:

I guess I just don't like the way the GT3 RS sounds.
It's not the GT3 RS, it's the way it sounds in the game. It's awful IMO. It doesn't sound like a car it's more of a droning sound. In no way do you get the feeling you are hearing a track ready beast when you watch that video. It's not even close to the real thing.

To me, I do hear hits of the actual exhaust notes in there. The video someone posted above showing the acceleration of the GT3 RS seems to sound somewhat similar to the one in GTS. But, the GT3 RS in GT Sport legitimately bothers me with the way it sounds. Every other car has sounded great to me, if not a little boring. But this one, just gets to me and I don't know why. It really shouldn't bother me this much considering I have never really cared about the exhaust notes and up/downshifts in GT.

Saying you can hear hints of a similar pitch or tone isn't exactly a ringing endorsement after 20 years of racing game sound development. It's not convincing, not in any way, not to me at least. It always sounds like a highly digitized version of a car engine, lacking all the bold and subtle character and nuance of a real car. To me it's the difference between listening to your favourite song on the am radio in a car and a CD at home on your kickass stereo system. Same music, same sounds, but worlds apart, such that no one would ever mistake one for the other.

I dont know man, look at how simplified the hood looks where it should be smoothly curved, The same can be said about the quality of the interior when gaming. So simplified, if it was not for the superb lightning and the "holy moly" tire flex I would say meeh to GTS when it is in actual gameplay.

High quality scapes is one thing but gameplay is another. Time to abandon playstation and release GT titles on the PC :)

It was a fun battle. That was my own mistake which let you pass but I knew before the race even started that I would be in trouble at some stage with that guy wowi starting behind me. You can guarantee he will hit whoever is in front of him in every race and sure enough he used my car to slow himself down and took advantage of my car getting out of shape to make the pass.

Hopefully it's fixed when the game releases, but ultimately, it's that big of a problem to me to where I wouldn't buy the game. The Autozam AZ-1 from GT6 sounded awful(as well as some others) but that didn't stop me from enjoying the game. This isn't gonna change for me with GTS, if content is good enough for me. Not to say that this isn't a problem that should have been fixed years ago.

....not really, you can't pull lighting like that off on a PS2/XBOX era game. Besides, FM6 had worse looking trees. (Why am I arguing about trees again?)

This conversion ends, here.

hehe, oh no you dont :P

Why are you involving lightning in the tree discussion for? :D

Look, the trees look like they are from early 2000. Lots of titles had better threes that these, including games found at the time on consoles.
I can think of, Wow, hl, balders games on ps2, newer winter nights, morrowind, oblivion. The list goes on :D

To be honest m8, they're trees. GT6 and GT5 had awful looking tress, didn't pay a single attention too them. I just don't really care in all honesty. If the game has PS2 era looking tress, so be it. As long as I can thoroughly enjoy the game, they might as well not be there.

Lighting and shaders are what makes the vegetation in modern games look good and realistic. Those old RPG trees are very outdated by today's standards. I'm not sure why you would want those in GTS.

Please write less stupid things.
Are you matching different types of games that are the opposite of driving games? What is it? If I have to compare something, I make a comparison with the same types of games.
GTS has the best vegetation for a 60fps racing, end of speech.
Flying over the question of quality ps2, which is without logic except to troll ....
