Please write less stupid things.
Are you matching different types of games that are the opposite of driving games? What is it? If I have to compare something, I make a comparison with the same types of games.
GTS has the best vegetation for a 60fps racing, end of speech.
Flying over the question of quality ps2, which is without logic except to troll ....
I hear you, but don't be insulting. You can make a point (on GTP) without saying someone's ideas are stupid or that they're trolling.

Looks convincing to me.

We got way more powerful hardware today compared to what we had access to back then. Even consoles are way more powerful then the most extreme Pc systems then.

Lightning is superb i GTS, no doubt about that. But the trees are still meh and especially the 2d mesh we see in the backgrounds that lurks behind those 2d wanna be 3d trees. Thank God for the lighting effects in GTS :D

I play a lot of AC right now, and when I am hotlapping/trackday racing at Nurburgring I always feel un-satisfied by the flat and dead nature around the track. So immersion breaking, the surrounding atmosphere around the track does indeed make the game more enjoyable. It is not enough with good looking cars with superb lighting effects. It only makes the cars look out of place.

Sure 60fps on consoles is nice and all, but the gpus are quite powerful in the new consoles like ps4 pro and Xbox One X which I guess better looking trees would be possible when playing. Look for example how cool Horizon looks on ps4/ps4 pro, given it is a huge open world game filled with environment that feels alive. Sure it is 30fps but race games don't need that amount of nature :P

Comparing trees is like comparing pnj characters, buildings, seas or everything else
It s depend on what is the main focus for techs

Of course, but it is kinda boring to see that racing games in this genre are so far behind other type of games when it comes to environments around the tracks. Feels a bit to lifeless, that is all. To be honest, if they just gave some of those trees just a bit of movements at least I would be happy camper :)

I tried something a little bit different today. I didn't qualify on purpose for the races I did, wanted to see how far I could get starting somewhere at the back. Something like the overtaking challenges in GT5/6, except not with AI but real drivers. :D

First two races were at the Nurburgring with the Audi TTS but that didn't really go well. Contact in the first race costed me some time and a mess up from my side in the second race dropped me back a few positions as well. They were fun races though bit since I only gained like 3 or 4 positions it didn't go as I'd hoped.

So then on to Dragon Trail Seaside with the Volkswagen Scirocco, thought I might have more chance with this car and seems I was right. :) Did 2 races again without qualifying. Unfortunately some more contact in both races which costed me time but I still managed to get from 16th to 4th in the first race and 17th to 5th in the second race. Both races were really great and I had lots of fun, especially in the second race with only GTR's on the grid. Really thinking of doing this more often in the remaining days/weeks of the beta, though it unfortunately does take a big hit on my driver rating. But I guess that's not important in the beta anyway, maybe better to be overtaking so many other drivers to see how the SR system works out and posting the bad examples on the beta forums for PD to try and improve the SR system (which is definately still necessary). So yeah, might be dropping to driver rating A again soon. :P

So apparently all content has been made and is now being refined. And they too said there will be 140 cars and 15 locations with 27 layouts. Does that mean that they're making the car models (especially the interiors) higher poly? Because a lot of cars mostly have obvious polygon edges in the interiors, and the Mercs suffer the most from this. :/

Why did GTP get different information than anyone else did? Did we even get the right numbers? Because if so, why?

Maybe PD trusts GTP more than they do IGN, GameSpot, PlayStation Access and other gaming news outlets? I seriously doubt that those numbers on the fact sheet were typos, they were too specific to be ones. :/

PS2 trees in PS4 racing game well 🤬 I guess I'm cancelling my pre order

It's not like you can get out of the car and climb the trees or set up a rope swing :P You should be busy racing not looking to see if the leaves are in HD haha.. some people spit their dummy's out for the most pathetic reasons, Don't buy the game! I'm pretty sure they won't go bankrupt over your stand against their crappy quality trees

With porsche being in the game I'm not buying this 140 car count still.

You do know kaz said there will be 177 cars?

Seriously, dude all racing sims have flat trees, appreciate the fact there is a mix of both 3D and 2D. GT has by far the most realistic looking.

I feel like the sounds and lighting gets better which each update. 1.06 does not look as good as 1.07 here's my current live video

And this is a PC game where you're supposed to get the best quality of graphics, it's silly to expect such ridiculous foliage fidelity from the equivalent of a 7 year old PC and in a racing game no less.

I'm ok with thte trees in RFactor, and all the others games.
Yeah, if the game makers can pull a better look tree, great!! But you have to make choices while making games. And the trees while you're going over 200kph all looks blury anyway.

ALL the games have a worse trees/environment compared to the cars and track, maybe all the racing games makers made a meeting and deliberately choose to make tree worst looking to made us suffer!!
It looks like a more reasonable explanation than sacrifices had to be made and the bad looking trees are the best thing.

Did you see where I said "racing sims"?

And GT SPORT uses the same methods with multiple flat planes as texture of leaves on each branch...this is only applied on a few of the trees compared to the 2D majority. Keep in mind the GT SPORT is running in 60fps not a 30fps game.
I don't consider GTS a "sim" so I figured you were using the term generically to apply to all racing games. Didn't say an fps qualifier in there either.

Where is it written that in a PC game you are supposed to get the best quality of graphics in every single game?
