The first few scenes in that short film were gorgeous! seeing the switch between real life and game really shows how far they have come graphically.
It's also quite interesting how Kaz said he wasn't as involved in the sound design process during GT4, 5 and 6.

Kaz: "in GT Sport, I really wanted to focus on sound creation myself, I really looked into the details of sound making and the process for each car model, or the technology involved. I focused on all those aspects"

LOL, that didn't last long at N300 BHGP, I saw you doing cheeky little quali's between races :P Great time, too! 👍

Yeah it's just impossible with N300 on Brands. The TTS is too slow on the straights and can't overtake easily in the corners so I couldn't gain as many positions as I wanted too. :P Decided to just race normally in that class. To be honest I didn't even know my time was that good, I just checked and it's #2 in Europe. :odd: I'm using @ItsAllAboutWins' tune with it, it's a really good one, especially the gearing I like. But yeah, that lap was really good though, I just didn't think I'd be up so high on the leaderbord with it.

Anyway, that's it for N300. But I didn't qualify in the Gr4 and Gr3 races, gained a lot more positions there. But also had a few bad ones though where I accidentally hit a few others and others were driving me off track as well. But thankfully 2 really good ones as well which I'll post later. My driver rating dropped back down to A though, but ah well, all for testing SR a bit more. :D And some fun ofcourse. ;)

Has anyone done any comparison testing between the cars to sort out how close they are on the track? Like taking all the N300's and hotlapping around Brands or some other track at their limit to see how far apart they are?

Like all with standard settings and no tune? Cause I don't think everyone has the best tunes for all cars. :P And tunes make a really big difference sadly, which definately makes it hard to keep all the different cars close with the current BoP.

And.. time for some videos again of todays races. The races at Brands weren't good enough to really show anything so only videos from Nurburgring and Willow.

This first one I wasn't going to show since there was quite some contact in it, but since I also had some really nice overtakes I uploaded it anyway. Went from 17th to 6th in this one. As for what happened in the end with @turnupdaheat, to defend him before anyone thinks badly of him. He didn't notice the other guy trying to overtake him on the left through the grass (which isn't a place for overtaking anyway) so there was some contact between them which upset his car and turned into the other guy again I think. He braked on the straight after that to wait for him, but apparently didn't notice I was right at his bumper. :D Hit him again in a later race which was my fault though. I guess our cars just didn't like eachother today. :P

Second one, also on Nurburgring, there was a lot of contact before the actual lap started and in the first sector. Still managed to get from 18th to 6th though. :D But for both the Nurburgring races, if there was less contact I would've probably gained some more positions. Will have to try again tomorrow. ;)

And the last one at Willow Springs with the Nissan GT-R GT3. Turns out I can do the same thing with this car, went from 16th to 4th. This was my cleanest one of all the 'overtaking challenges' I had so far so I couldn't have done better than 4th I think. I did get a push from behind but that didn't really cost me much time. I was really trying to get closer to @Nico_Ble99 still but I couldn't do it in time, with one more lap maybe. :P

Really thorough testing would involve both tuned and untuned cars. I'm just wondering if anyone is doing it on their own time and perhaps not posting the results. Even two or three cars thoroughly put through their paces would be nice to see.

The last Gr.4 race I've participated in the top 4 cars were all different.

The last N300 race was all Audi TTs aside from my Evora (but I did finish 4th). The Gr.3 class is diverse as well.

The only/main balancing issue is the FWD N300 cars being useless.

Race finish orders are pretty meaningless due to the talent differentials among drivers. I'd be more interested in independing testing. Frankly I'm surprised no one took this bull by the horns. That's probably all I would have done. Ran tons of laps testing and tuning in GT5 and GT6 and in F.I.T.T. tuning competitions I ran hundreds of laps at one track test driving the various tunes in competitions so I kind of got used to repetitive testing.

@Johnnypenso The guys I get matched with are almost always at my skill level. Online racing can be the better barometer since slipstream negates some of the advantages.

I don't think anyone has, but I could totally try this out and see how far apart they are.

You'll have to give me a bit of time though, it's coming up to 1am in the UK.

We're on different wavelengths. Slipstreaming is exactly what you don't want to measure cars against one another. Solo with a single driver is the comparison I would like to see.

If you did that would be great. Not sure if anyone else is interested but I'd like to know how far apart the cars are. I remember in GT5/6 you could easily have cars of equal PP 4 or 5 seconds apart on an 80-90 second lap but I assume it's much closer than that.

@Johnnypenso I'm not disagreeing and I will try to experiment and produce the results for you. My point is, if they're close after tuning with equally skilled players then the BOP has a solid foundation.

Nice to finally see the 24H layout of the Nurburgring, even in 4K too and with a good driver. It looks really good with that time of day, especially the Nordschleife part as well compared to the time of day we have in the beta. The AI though is still horrible. So easy to pass them at the beginning and then they somehow manage to keep the same pace all the way untill the end where they try to pass with slipstream. The Subaru actually succeeded but gives away his position so easily again. Hope this is not the AI we'll get in the final game.

I managed to break into the 1:08s at Willow Springs but my team principal gave out to me about my post lap celebrations!

Noob question: I'm sure I have seen onboard replay footage posted. How do I change to that view?

Nice lap! :) I think with L1 or R1 you can change views during replay.
