Why not release the first trailer at the Frankfurt motor show next week, alongside the Bugatti VGT... It would be the first (I think) that a game would be announced at a motorshow but I believe it would give them more attention.
Good thought.

- TGS: Sony Conference
- Frankfurt Motor Show

Kaz (PoDi) will not be present at TGS, but at Frankfurt show for 2 VGTs: Hyundai and Bugatti.

At the risk of creating utter disappointment by exciting myself over baseless speculation, I can think of only one thing now...

It's time for...

HYPE! :gtpflag:

While I think TGS is unlikely (Paris Gaming show is more likely) where are people getting confirmation that it won;t be at TGS. The show floor plans each pub announces do not include new announcements or announcements to be made at the SCEJ conference.

I just hope they show a tralier and start building hype before this year comes to a close. Maybe we can see something at playstation experience in December. Would be a smart move by sony. It's only their second year doing that event. If they show off GT7 at that event it would really help sony because people would expect big triple A titles at that event in the future if they see that GT7 gets shown. It's a win/win for Sony and PD. Basically what I'm saying is that playstation experience would gain a lot of exposure if GT7 was to be shown if you guys don't get what I'm saying.

Even with all its flaws and the poor sales of GT6, nothing defines Sony and the PlayStation quite as well as Gran Turismo. It is THE Sony franchise, and I'm sure Kaz realises the importance of the game to the PlayStation brand. This why GT7 needs to be as good as it possibly can be, as a showcase of the potential of the technology and the skill of Polyphony Digital, similar to the way Forza and Xbox are now intertwined.

With 2 VGTs being revealed to the public in Frankfurt, Germany, do you honestly believe PD would be in Tokyo announcing anything?

"TGS: -------------------September 15th (nothing expected)"

Lol. :P I'm not expecting anything in Tokyo. :) Maybe well get an interview or hint at Frankfurt though.

Although I'm not expecting anything, I have to agree with GT6mebe. There isn't confirmation of GT7 not showing and just because Kaz and crew are in Frankfurt doesn't mean they can't reveal "anything" from there. PD and Sony are definitely behind all their competition and NEED to start showing something GT related on the current gen.

As for my DOUBTS of anything being revealed, with two VGT's to reveal for a last gen game, it would be a bad idea to have the VGT's, and Hyundai's, Bugatti's, and PD's collaboration, thunder stolen by a GT7 reveal. Unless, they reveal them in GT7's game engine (which would still kind of suck).

*sigh* I hope PD hasn't become stubborn like Acura (when will they EVER get rid of that bird beak/Gundam/Optimus Prime grille they put on ALL their cars).

I'll have to agree. GT6 needs to be done first before any GT7 announcement.

Also, Acura now has a new chief designer so let's hope it's for the better.

...Hmm y'know what, chances of GT7 trailer popping out within next few days are really remote, if I think about it.

There're two VGTs being unveiled next week for GT6. If you were a bunch of execs from said car makers would you be happy if a news of better, newer and spanglier version of the game you just spent $$ making fantasy cars for steal away all the valuable PR chatter?

No, you will not be amused by that situation.

And then, what about the other scheduled VGTs? Will those car makers now delay their unveilings, until GT7 arrives?

Since we don't know yet if VGT program will carry on to GT7, I can only assume PDI is chatting to the respective makers regarding the VGT/GT7 situation.

If they do carry over, then PR-wise wouldn't it be better to spearhead the launch of a brand-new title on the current-gen console?

...I dunno. My head's spinning by all these excessive speculations. :ill:

I just had a brainwave about this. Imagine if GT7 was announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and at the same time, PDI announced a demo for GT7 containing only VGT cars, adding in the cars yet to be revealed, which was then to be released on PS4 this year. What better way to promote the cars you worked on specifically for GT than by making them front and centre of the first taste of the PS4 version of Sony's flagship franchise?

No, a demo for gt7 is basically guaranteed to be called GT Academy and contain only Nissan.

IMO a better way would be to use a small number of cars, perhaps 3 or 4, to showcase the presumably new physics model. A small sedan around 400pp, a mid-range sports car around 400-520pp, a supercar and a full fledged race car. One or two tracks that provide a good test of physics, preferably laser scanned.

...At the same time? No way, man. I can't shake the feeling that nothing's gonna happen at Frankfurt, Paris or even in Tokyo.

A GT7 demo? Nope, can't see it. Not at all.

So, basically: a Nissan Leaf, a Nissan 370Z, a Nissan GTR and a Nissan GTR GT3? Sounds familar.

On a side note: I really hope they use GT6 1 last time for GT Academy. It will improve my chances of winning. :P Having a potentially incompatible wheel and all...

If and when the new GT shows up, I'd really like to see them revert back to taking the tire grade into account for PP calculations. It's currently impossible to get an accurate idea of how cars might be comparable if they happen to be on different rubber.
