Not impressed by this update. Polphony has let me down yet again. Over a decade and they still have no idea how a car behaves or sounds like. I admit its a small incremental improvement over previous GT titles but the game still feels so sterile and boring to drive.

I just finished a 2 hour session playing dirt rally and the game completely blows everything out of the water. How can they get the sound effects, physics and fun factor so spot on in dirt rally with half the budget, yet Polphony sound and physics are so far behind to the competition?

GT has gradually more established itself as an interactive and social platform for people who like to relax with cars. I'm done comparing it to the more serious simulators although I wouldn't say GT physics are bad. It just feels dampened in comparison, which is fair enough when considering how the game is clearly targeting the mainstream market.

You raise a good point about the car sounds being odd, but DiRT Rally's sound blows most racing games out of the water. Take a listen to FM7 and you'll notice that PD isn't the only corporation-backed studio creating strange car sounds.

Exactly all this. I was hash tagging "graphicsainteverything" when PC2 was out and GTS was about to drop. The eye-candy is real. however, after coming from PC2 and FM7, GTS is a relief(and release). An easy pick up game, that isn't perfect, but it does have a mix for everyone.

Am I alone in finding the M3 far more wayward than I feel it ought to be?

I spun it constantly at the 'Ring, though I soon realized that was partially due to the sound glitch killing any sound from the tires. But even after a reset and the sounds returning, it feels very uneasy.

Well said mate, I should stop comparing and just enjoy it for what it is, it just frustrating that polyphony still has the same design philosophy for so long now and just so many silly design choices.

In regards to FM7...they really went downhill with the production values and sound. I think Dirt rally is the standard for racing sound and immersion. Playing that game is such a sensory overload. The cracks and pops from the exhaust, the turbo whine, sense of speed. Everything feels tangible and real. I guess thats why GT sport feels so sterile when you compare them back to back.

Couldn‘t drive flat out of any corner at Tsukuba on RH tires with 130% without spinning :banghead: I also haven‘t found a way to mess with the suspensions that make it better yet :dunce:

Found the M3 to be underwhelming in sound and handling but I always thought the e30 was too hyped up in general. Much prefer the original M5 and even e34 M5 to an e30.

Already send some tweet to Kaz. I'm aware that my tweet might not get a reply but I think Kaz and PD will noticed nonetheless :

Hope they sorted it out because an M3 being uneasy and difficult to drive does sound weird to me. Should have been like something fun to drive. Or is it such characteristic of E30 M3 had though?

You know, honestly... I love SuperGT and all, I really do. But their inline-4 sounds so horrible :guilty: that's my only qualm about them. Haven't tried the NSX nor RC F, but the GTR sounds like a 🤬 Beetle Gr. 3 :(

Whoah that's a completely different sound to what I heard in the GTR
I gotta try out the other two
Edit: It's just the cockpit view that sounds good :( the three sound mostly the same save for a bit of difference with their raspiness :'(

Yes, I am aware. But why do I have to finish a race to check out my car? It would be so easy to add it to the pause menu... almost every other racing game has this option.
To be honest I hadn’t really thought about that. For me scapes is where I like to check out my car!

Just a wee side note: if PD added every little feature that everyone wanted the game would be even bigger! We all have little things that we would like to see but unfortunately PD has to satisfy the majority (No pun intended) not each individual. As per your previous post about things you’d like to see not in the game annoying you, I agree! There are loads of wee things I’d love to see added but unfortunately you just have to accept it ain’t happening!

As far as street cars go the GT40 is the best one in this update. Man is this car fast and handles incredible and that's completely stock on Sport Soft Tires. It's definitely in the wrong category N-400. I have decimated every time trial set by all cars in the N-500 & N-600 class with the GT40.

The N classes are based on engine power, nothing else. N400 is between 350PS and 449PS (345hp and 443hp). The GT40 has 354hp.

That really makes the classes unbalanced because nothing in the N-400 class is going to hang with the GT40. It also doesn't need any more HP to bump it up to another class as it will already destroy them as it sits. I think they need to put the weight along with HP into balancing the classes.

To be fair, the N classes need a looking at. The 4C dominates N200, the GT3 RS dominates N500, and the F1 dominates N700 to the point where it’d be silly to use another car in a competitive setting if you wanted to win a race.

Exactly. It's making the N-Class race's into one makes. For lobby races you have to start putting HP limits on to keep everyone from grabbing the top car. At the same time that sucks because some of those cars are very fun to drive and it is excluding them from being used at all.

How about an N400 Shelby Cobra, or an N400 KTM X-Bow?

I don't believe there is any intention to balance the road car classes.

I don't really like Tsukuba that much.. I will have preferred any one of these tracks than Tsukuba

Spa
Silverstone
Le Mans
Hockenheimring
Laguna Seca
Watkins Glen
Donington
Red Bull Ring
COTA
Fuji
Road America
Motegi
Brno
Zandvoort
Catalunya
Imola
Zolder
Mugello
Daytona RC
Indianapolis RC
Homestead Miami RC

But never the less It is free content and I hope PD better be fast adding tracks. Missing a lot of them.

just tried out the M3 Sport Evo earlier, and wow, the chase cam is terrible when set to Near. You literally can't see what's in front of you. Whoever set it up on that angle was drunk or high. I hope they fix that soon.

I don't know why people expect to get a car and be able to thrash it around a track straight away without losing control. Every car needs mastering to get the most out of it, sometimes you need to change driving style. Too many complaints about E30 handling and I don't get it. I found it sweet but it will bite if you overdo it. Keep at it and tame the beast! Oh and the new track, awesome that Tsukuba is finally here..now dreaming of Twin Ring Motegi and some more super GT cars please....

Tsukuba is so flat, featureless and boring that I just dropped an elastic band on my desk and it fell into the same shape as the track.

It's pathetic.

I'd rather be trapped in an infinite time loop where I have to go through the Schwedenkreuz section in a Renault Megane RS than do a lap of Tsukuba.
I love the technical tracks but occasionaly I like to get a beast out on Tsukuba there was the Endurance races (9hr) with JGTC on previous iterations of GT you have to learn to take the stuff you don't like with the stuff you do ha ha :lol:

Anyway, even though M3 wasn't that good as some people expected I think we should celebrate the debut of the little Bimmer in GT series so here some 80's promo video featuring E30 3 Series model lineup (M3 included) and other BMW vehicles. Spoiler : full of A E S T H E T I C

I find it way too easy to drive. Are you using a controller maybe ? The RX7 is much harder to controle. Compared to that car or the MR2 the E30 M3 is really easy to drive. Brilliant car.

Of course it is not a good car by modern standards. That was not the point of the many requests for this car. It is about nostalgia.
