This is actually a very good question; why can't we select a female driver?!

A female avatar I think is a waste of time because it will be in coverall all the time and the only way to understand that it is a female driver would be to carefully see the proportions of the body.

Yeah, now think that your hard-worked suit livery will not get noticed by anyone. Who really looks into the the driver seat of another player to see their suits or who uses the option to see the drivers' driving gear?
I hope I'm wrong here but I believe a really small amount of people pays attention in other driver's helmet and suit.

Good point, but I think it's nice to know that the option to customize the suit is there. You can also see the player's racing helmet and suit when looking at their profile. I imagine the suit editor will serve a better purpose for that.

There's also the screen after the race is done. Makes it more unique as some people screenshot that and show them on sites like these.

I can already imagine the huge number of Senna/Hamilton/Vettel/Schumacher (as said by Crazy Taylor) suits. I can already imagine D. Va racing suits being made.

Yeah, and if you go on photo mode and point the camera to your driver you can see the man’s face pretty clearly.

I would like to see:
- Choice of gender
- A few avatars to choose from
- Option to have visor down or up

Someone has already mentioned visor banners, but I would also like the option to have a metallic visor where I can choose the colour mix.

I wish I could grow a little bit too lol (you have probably noticed when you sign the manufacturer contract).

Your avatar appears in your profile. They even sell poses that are only used in this view, so why not extend it to female avatars too? They could even introduce some more feminine poses in the Mileage Exchange!

Drive Club had the Gender option, plus a few different Racial characteristics if I remember rightly. Also, didn't one of the Ridge Racer games have a Dual between 2 Female Racing Drivers as the main storyline ?

But it could all get out of hand pretty quickly.

Choose Race - Options - .........OMG I started doing a list & deleted it, as several options could be seen as Stereotypes.

I hope you'll be able to tie race suit designs to specific cars, otherwise you'll have to change your suit every time you want to drive a different car/livery and have a matching driver.

You ask them to choose the sex of their avatar, not the gender. Sex is biological and physiological so can be fairly well represented by using male and female body characteristics.

I wonder if the logos on the driver suit will transfer to the pit crew as well. Or maybe you have to make them all separately? Or maybe the pit crew isnt able to be edited.

As someone who used to watch the trailers of the previous games a lot, I definately don't remember hearing that before. Haven't been successful identifying that so far though.

That would be great. Always did find it weird how I'd suit up in my custom suit to match the Gazoo Racing livery on my Lexus only for the podium or win animation to show my driver in the default colors.

You know you can select a player's profile and see their Car livery as well as Helmet AND suit before AND after a race, right? Pretty sure that easily allows people to see what your suit looks like.

Not so fun fact: the whole "attack helicopter" joke is often considered very offensive, especially for the trans community as it suggests that gender identity is nothing more than a joke.

I've probably made that same joke at some point in my past too but I'm always sure to avoid it at all costs now.
