GT Sport's New Wet Tokyo Track is Coming in the Next Four Weeks

For sure, it can't be zero or none. It has to be at least once or more, I believe.

It's been teased at the World Tour and that infamous tweet.

If I recall the only comment about release was Jimmy Broadbent saying "in a future update" during the livestream at Red Bull.

Keep the hot takes coming bois.

Very much looking forward to all things to come to GTSport in the near future.

Next two updates should be absolutely packed!

Yay.
I liked your post. You didnt mention the Belgian track! ;)

The article said the Tokyo Wet is coming next 4 weeks starting in 23 September
No, it says that at least one Tokyo track with wet conditions will come in the next four weeks as of the publication of the article - because there's a race on it on 12th October. The week starting 23rd September is simply posited as the most likely time for it to arrive given the time of the month for the last five content updates: the final week of that month.

Should've coming next 1-2 weeks this month along with Ferrari Daytona then.

Has a September update been confirmed at any point? The current hot topic being Michelin in the October update makes me think they might skip September and release the next content update early next month. Just guesswork.

Has PD actually ever said Spa was coming though? We are used to assuming tracks debuted at World Tour events will be added in the next update but it isn't always the case.

If I’m not mistaken, the commentators at the recent New York event said that Spa will arrive in a future update.

Can you provide a link to PD announcing a date that Spa was coming? Without a date being announced, it can't be delayed I believe
Oh yes. I guess this article has to be fake, right? Because there's no exact date included for the track's actual release in the game.

What a question.

So a rumoured possible update that's said to be coming this September 24th seems to be murky at this point.

Can't wait for Tokyo wet.

Gt7 wont be a launch title. Gran Turismo was never a launch title.

Kaz himself knows that GT should never be rushed.

You seem so sure but im not sure why though... Most of the bones of GT7 are already here all they will do is bump up the resolution plus all the current cars are modelled at 8K already to go...

I prefer the Tokyo South loop with wet conditions, but apparently only works in the East loop at the moment, but night wet conditions could be great wow!
Daytona, the muscle car and 3 more cars i think, next week more information maybe.

It's gonna be funny when PD explains
"we don't have the copyright for SPA but it's the only new track that we have ready so we will use it only in the events. You peasants won't ever get to drive on it, but don't worry, we have something for you : BMB reverse wet night"
BMB would be cool at night, actually we need night time in every track i dont know why thats not a thing, night time should be easier for performance because there is less track side detail and worse draw distance.

This has got first corner carnage written all over it if its is a daily race... only take 1 person to out brake themselves and boom!
Red Bull Ring also has a pretty tight first corner(but the run off area is pretty good)
Tokyo is like the Macau of GTSport

What's interesting is how players have picked up race craft in the Manufacturers Race at RBR. I've had cleaner races in the wet than the dry race at Nurb GP. Players will learn quickly, they'll suffer too, if they try to rush things by shunting or trying to squeeze in spots, etc. Might see much use of the pause button.

Launch title? I don't know but if you follow the news related to Polyphony Digital and the next console : everything points to GT being one of the launch title. For example, Poly recently increased the hourly wages for part time jobs.

Yeah so?? Does not mean anything. Gt3 was released in 2001 long after the ps2 was launched in 2000.

A lot of people would agree with me that GT7 is better off not being a launch title.

I guess you're reasoning that it will be better with longer dev time, however GTS has been a long running beta for GT7. Thanks to all the player feedback (and they really do listen) the game engine is in good shape already. A few new bells and whistles like dynamic light / weather and more content addded to the existing roster is all thats required... Thankfully they wont be starting from scratch like with GTS...

Hmmm... I wonder if they'll surprise us by bringing night rain conditions?

Tokyo wouldn't have been my first choice to get the next wet treatment, but if we can race at night in the rain, I'd change my tune instantly 👍

I dont want it to be like gt5 where people waited years for it. Gt7 is better off not being a launch title because it will be rushed for the release of ps5.

There was a list of rumored launch titles. And GT7 was on it. I know it's never been a launch title.. But could be a first time for everything. I'm sure sony wants a strong start to ward off xbox with forza 89&10

[N]ight time should be easier for performance because there is less track side detail...
I'm not world class with respect to lap times, but I must express doubt with this claim. I suspect most IRL racers use extra-track features. These features are useful for gaining sight lines for the purpose of better establishing braking zones & for determining turn in while navigating either high speed blind corners (view can be compromised also because of traffic) or for long wide high radius sweepers, like on an oval. I would agree that their usefulness is less in a 2D environment like GTS, but I still appreciate whatever perspective that I an absorb.

I would expect lap times at day/night tracks like Circuit de le Sarthe or Daytona International Speedway to bear this out, driver & car fatigue notwithstanding.
