Gran Turismo 2 and Gran Turismo 2 Special Edition - does anybody know what's the difference? I know that there's different music, videos and pass times in licences, but what else (cars, money, tracks, handling, speed)? Some says that GT2 Special Edition is only in Russian:confused:

I know there's some differences in which cars are available between different versions (PAL, NTSC). Don't know if the same happens for the Special Edition, but you can check the cars list in some fansites, like Pupik's website

Yes there's difference from Europe' and America's versions - Honda NSX and Integra is Acura, but i think that the real differnce is only names and years for NSX ('91 and '93 for America in new car and '90 and '92 for Europe in used cars). And that's all! :)

Here's more differences:

-> NA version has the NISMO GT-R LM Road Version, Japanese version doesn't.
-> Japanese version has the Integra Type R 98 Spec (the best integra), NA version doesn't.
-> In Japanese version all NSX have race mods, in NA i think not many have it. (for example: there's a cool black race mod NSX in Japanese version :) )
-> In Japanese version Taurus SHO has a Nascar race mod, in NA version doesn't.

There's also the differences you mentioned, license times and videos.

Didn't know that. Hmmmmm...

Yes.

The early NTSC/NA version (1.0) has this race-mod, later versions don't. I have it on my NTSC disk, but Valvoline or Roush Racing or NASCAR (not sure who) pulled the plug on it one it was caught.

Since the Japanese version came first, nobody seemed to notice at the time. Once it arrived in America in Decmeber 1999, somebody must have made a phone call...

The earliest editions of GT2 (version 1.0) have Mark Martin's Taurus, but this was quickly nixed within a matter of months for whatever reason.

If NA is North America than - no! There's Nismo GT-R LM Road Version in Europe's version.
But it's not on the Japanese version, and i think there's people here with the North American version that has the NISMO GT-R LM.

So - What' The Difference? Only That I Said?
Check my previous post... there's different cars too, and race mods.

But if Japanese vers. and Europe's vers. isn't the same, then - are any differences about Eur. vers.? And in the end - all 3 vers. - all the differences.

This is going waaaaaay back but when I bought mine, it was a special edition insofar as it had a special box, memory card holder and some stickers and that was it. This is PAL Europe.

A significant change in gt2 1.0 and later is that the 97 Prius gets downgraded for its upgrade options. This made the car much faster (at a max of 81 hp) Those upgrades probably made Toyota unhappy, being that they were trying to push the car as environmentally safe vehicle.
