Nice work.

Man....if i wasn't so bogged into GT4 i'd get back and do some GT2! So little time, though. :(

And then, i just got ToCA RAce Driver 3...that looks as if i'll spend loads of time there, too. :indiff:

I can't spot where you almost screwed up/mishifted though, and I had just watched the video again. But my guess is you almost screwed up when entering the last chicane and you mishifted coming out of the window tunnel.

Edit: just watched it again, you almost messed up hitting the wall of the bridge man! That was close! And the engine redlined after that when you forgot to shift.

That's okay-ish, a bit undramatic, but pretty good for starters 👍. Maybe you could be more brave entering the corners, then you can get a higher drift angle.

Some nine-eleven turbo drifting :)

Surprisingly, this arse-engined 600 hp RWD monster with no downforce tended to...understeer  I used the e-brake a lot. Hope you'll enjoy this :)

Yes, yes, I screwed up in the last chicane. The speed was way too high, my bad :dunce:

Cool 👍. Some more sideways action in an exotic. You're right about the tendency of the RUFs to understeer. Many people thought they oversteer like hell because of their RR drivetrain, but they actually understeers a lot into the corners because they haven't got any weight over the front wheels to make it grip the road.

Yet another drifting action from me :)

Or (especially while the video is being processed), in Good Quality via RapidShare (direct download).

This time - a red S15 at the Deep Forest Raceway.

When I've been recording the replay, I mentioned that this particular video may seem like the car drifts itself - its natural handling is actually going sideways :) No matter though, this all is still a very hard work to perform. Hope you'll enjoy this :)

Yes, I admit :) Hence why when I showed that to some people, I heard nothing but "hmmm, well that is okay, but nothing special" - they know nothing about drifting a rear-engined Porsche :) After that I decided not to try drifting exotic cars anymore.

well that's not what i said. i dont know if i commented or not , but i always appreciate some one who drifts something out of the ordinary.

I'd like to present you another video :) This time it's a sample how to do a lap of the Motorsports Land, fully sideways :D The chosen ride is a fully tuned AE86 hybrid (with just a bigger turbo), making 309 horsepower.
While the youtube version is being processed, you can download the video here (~22 MB).

Oh BTW... I would appreciate if anyone would share his ideas about what to drift and where to drift... Cause I'm running out of them ^^ I mean, there are not so many tracks eligible for drifting, and the number of cars is also limited... Mighty Chevys, RWD Skylines, Silvias of any kind, AE86's, TVRs... But apart from that - I can't think of anything that could work really good as a drift car :( I've tried many exotic cars like the Speed 12, the Espace, the Stratos... Didn't feel optimistic about them though :( What do you guys reckon?

There are tracks where only certain sections are good for drifting, like the top section of the Seattle Short Course, or the final two turns on that same course. Ive yet to have a go on the Rome Full/Short courses, but Id imagine the turn past the collessium on the full course would be a good drift corner. Other than that, I dont know :( Maybe a real high horsepower car at Super Speedway? To try and maintain drift throughout both the long corners. Or Tahiti Road? I was pulling some nice drifts in my old S13 last night on that, and that had only 164hp.
As for choice of cars - I dont know, to be honest. I tried drifting some massive German saloons (BMWs, AMG E55, etc) but they were just too heavy - felt like tryin to get a lorry to do the slalom, it aint gonna happen. I did try a tuned '67 Cougar once, that was pretty crazy, and any of the Plymouths would be mental - it would be like drifting Titanic :)

Uh-huh, you mean, a car with big power? Like, seven hundred horsepower?

I guess this is not what they were expecting me to do on this license track :D

By the way, although it looks easy-peasy, actually it was unbelievably difficult to hold the drift that long. It took me a lot of tries to do that. Thanks to the power mostly :) Though, as it took not so much time to screw up over and over again, I didn't manage to get tired :)
