i have to agree about the cars thing..........even though gt3 has better graphics........i prefere gt2........i like the controls better..........and a bunch of other stuff(even though i wouldn't be saying this if i had gt3)

I think GT3 has some 350+ cars, but don't take my word for it...go to the GT3 forum. GT2's my bag, baby. My GT3 racing is pretty much limited to doing a few laps at a buddy's home and a few acrade laps if I stumble into Best Buy.

And no, I still haven't bought GT3/PS2 nor destroyed my PSX...

..gotta love them drunken newbies..

GT3 hadto have better graphics. What 'bout cars ... I hate Diablo, McLaren etc. I thought Kazunori was a guy who knows what is real cool. Why did he added that disgusting-pop-cars to the game... I was so upset when I saw BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar in GT2 & now this.

GT3 sucks... I don't care about the good ratings in the magazines... GT3 is pure crap... What's Sony and Polyphony trying to do? Repeat history? Repeat the event when the first GT came on the PS1? They should have called it Gran Turismo Remix instead.

I think they bothe have there own qualities. GT2 has more cars and unlimet rims, but in GT3 the handiling of the cars feels more realistic. i also like that u get to change oil ( your able to do more stuff to the car) and that the screen where you tune yor cars is like GT1 ( plain and siple). Hopefuly GT4 will have all these and more. soon as it comes out im going to buy it and ps2!

I find it hard to justify the dough: $200 for the console, $25 for the game, $30 for a memory card. Throw in tax and it's almost 300 bucks that I don't have just yet. Add a Gameshark and Sharkport (?) and it's another 100.

So for me, GT2 might as well be better than GT3. Besides, I was rather disappointed the Unisia Jecs Skyline isn't available in GT3.

I've played GT3 and it is still a great game, on a scale of 1 to 10, its a nine. However GT2 is an awesome game, i give it a 12.

But, I've played the PS2, and the X-Box. and I want an X-Box. The graphics are so much better, just because the technology is a year newer. I'll play my PSX Type-Brick until the day in explodes. But if i'm gonna spend $300(canadian), it'll be on an X-Box. So no GT3, GT4 or GTC for me.

yes, i would much rather have an XBox than a PS2.
but i'd also much rather have GT3 than Project Gotham.
or any other racing games for XBox.

not that it makes that much of a difference, but memory cards are only $25, the game was only $20.

reason why i dont like gt2 as much as gt3

1.gt2`s graphics suck
2.the sound is bad
3.way to many bugs
4.it takes way to long to load!
5.the cars do not sound real!

only 1 thing for gt3!

1.less cars

im not sayin they are bad though!

After playing on GT3 a mate has. I am not too sure it is tonnes better.

The graphics rock that is a given fullstop.
The game in general loads and runs faster.
I do like the control you get with brakes and accelerator being not on or off like GT2 as I run in digital mode not analog.

GT2 is a bit crude but I get a better feeling for speed and braking points with GT3. the cars behaviour in GT3 are not consistant. They seem to float which lets face a race car does not do that over uneven surfaces.

GT2 has a better selection of cars, though GT3 has cars I wish GT2 had, and is missing cars it should such as the Cerbera LM.

I love the F1 cars in GT3. They are awesome though you do not get the option to change tyres around.

Both have good points and bad points but overall GT3 is a step forward for sure. Now when the price of a PS2 comes down I will pick one up.

the price for a ps2 has already come down $100, so don't look for it dropping much more, if at all.

What GT3 lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality.

The graffics are more realistic, as are the physics. The physics in GT2 are more video game-ish, and allow room for more error, while the physics in GT3 are more realistic.

Hell, just the graffics and realism while running Laguna Seca in a Skyline are worth the cost of a PS2 and GT3. Gotta love that golden sunshine and blueish-white headlights.

I bought a PS1 for the sole purpose of playing Gran Turismo, and I'll buy a PS2 for the sole purpose of playing GT3.

The price for just the counsel and one controller here in NZ is still around the $500 mark. To me for a game center although it plays DVD's is a bit high. I would rather put that sort of money towards modifications on my GTR right now.

Yep I bought a PS1 soley for playing GT2. I later picked up GT1 for $8 brand new from a store closing down. I played it a little bit but thing that is more just to say I have it then play it.
