GT3 ISCC - Week 1: Laguna Seca

Ok, through some PM based discussion, me and Small_Fryz decided to reveal our 580+ HP beasts :D

I am just tired of all this mistery, plus I want to know his settings, since we are driving pretty much the same car ;) :D

Here goes:

I am running the Mazda RX-7 Type RS(J) The $37780 one... :D

Total horsepower, broken in, equal to 594 HP :D

im running a RX7 RZ :). around 586hp i think.

I will post my settings in here later on. though only for STS, i want to hang onto STA and STB for a while

my STB efforts thus far:

T1 - 23.838
T2 - 44.543
T3 - 1'07.112 (damned corkscrew!!! :mad: )

lots of time to work with here, i'm sure i can catch the time small_fryz posted for this class. I've seen T1 and T2 times marginally faster than what he put up so far.

also, had a dirty lap with T3 at 1'06.2xx. Made the mistake of entering turn 2 way WAY too early and tucked more than a couple wheels in the grass. Aside from that careless mistake, the rest of that lap was clean.

edit: I have some STS times, but nothing worth looking at yet. I'm not really using a tremendously popular car - trying to go for something a bit original to see how it stacks up. Might toss up something late tomorrow in that class if I feel any better about my efforts by then.

will do a leaderboard update when i wake up. Right now I feel I deserve more than the combined 7hours of sleep that I've amassed over the last 2 nights :crazy:, and I'm determined to find more before this weekend it out.

well if anyone has a good sugestion instead of RX7 for STS go right ahead, EVO cant make the PWR limit with the budget at hand and neither can the skyline, same for WRX. in fact its very hard to get cars to the PWR 2.0 with 130g's. And once you have car there it needs to handle good, as its on sport tyres. i may try some more for STB but my STA and STS are quite fast for me atm and its very frustrating for STS and STA. STB will get faster once my car is run in (need the extra 10hp)

I know exactly where I'm losing that 0.6s in my T1, and I've gone 0.8 faster (once). I just have to bring the whole package together. I've seen a T3 of 1'01.484, but ran wide immediately afterwards and so discontinued the lap.
looks like there's some good competitions heating up

won't get much (if any) chance to update my times over the next day or two. I have a midterm on Wednesday that deserves some of my attention

I'll have the times in a sec..just relaxing right now...I'm a LOT slower than you guys..I'm only racing STB, and i'm a good 4 seconds slower on T3...1:11.xxx

Just got back from a weekend of car stuff and Halo 2 games. Driven about 110 miles today on 3 hours of sleep... and I had classes

I'll get some times up.. when I have my TV hooked back up... and I'm awake...

...The car understeers way to much...should've invested in an LSD..

It's a Legacy B4 Blitzen btw...314hp...almost completly broken in...
 
Hmm I've been messing around with the STB class lately, still am not too sure on my decision for what car to use. I'll go get some T times in just a sec....

EDIT: Yay times! Heres my current times for STB My car is a Chevy, I would have never guessed I would use one of these haha!

I've been racing for about 30 minutes and I can improve still a substantial amount...I'll put some more laps in over the week. :)

No fair no fair!!!! Just when I thought I was getting some respectable times!
:dopey:

I wanted to ask about technique at the last left hand for the corkscrew. I basically come into it at about 70 mph, brake just a little to settle the weight on the front then turn hard left and continuosly depress the accelerator. When I time it all correct I can come out at just about 100mph.

Anyone have have any other suggestions?

PS, I just wanted to thank Azurman and TS for putting this together. It's a lot of fun! :)

Well, well ;) Good times TankSpanker, expecially considering that you are not using the Mazda RX-7 (either one) 👍

It ain't over until it's over, though.
Still have time until Saturday 2AM Central Time...
I will make a come back then, I promise :D

I know a T3 of 0'59.5xx is in my possibilities, as I have seen it before, and I know I can probably still improve further, if I put enough effort.

I will just have to wait until the end of the week, though... Too many assignments and a couple of tests this week, so not much time for racing for me.
I don't know what I am going to do about STA, yet. It all depends on how long it will take me to do a good lap in STS, as that takes priority.

I hope i stay a hop skip and jump away, when im bored of wrs103 i will give STB another run, hopefully on iscc first week i can take all 3 divisions :dopey:

Tank my quickest STA run was with a Corvette Grand Sport :)

New times, New car....the legacy just wasn't cutting it.

...Car isn't broken in yet, and the suspension needs some fine tuning, but I think I might be competetive.
