GT3 ISCC - Week 1: Laguna Seca

TankSpanker
this would have to be done with some consideration however - we cant have 10indivudal challenges going on at the same time as the class competition

I see the problem arising, and I knew something like that could happen, even before I suggested what I suggested... :indiff:

So, I thought about it some more, and I came up with another idea that might solve the problem.

Since I miss driving prize cars (race cars in particulars) and other pricey cars in general, that wouldn't be able to fit in the budget, how about this:

Every week you (TankSpanker or Azuremen) name a vehicle (to be run on the same track of that particular week's competition) and assign it to the 'Challenge Class' (or similar name, that you two might decide on). That would solve the problem of many people coming up with different vehicles for their own challenge (which can still be done, but won't be part of the 'leaderboard' - like in WRS the 'Mini Maniacs' challenge each other all the time).

This way, some vehicles that are 'outside' their class (no PWR limits, no weight limits, no credits limits) can be also driven and enjoyed. Maybe some limitations can still be introduced, like the tires (to make things interesting ;))

I am not saying it HAS to be a 1000+ HP vehicle everytime... Just something that cannot be driven in the regular classes, whether it's because it's too expensive to buy with the allotted cash, or because it cannot fit in any of the available classes.

Let me know what you think about it.

Now, for the business part:

Improved my STS by a good bit :D

1) Dirty lap :( (why did I look up at T3??)
T1: 0'20.908
T2: 0'38.912
T3: 0'58.920

2) Clean lap :D
T1: 0'21.318
T2: 0'39.254
T3: 0'59.389

Lap (1) was 0.616 second faster at the finish line (mainly because of the better T3) than lap (2). So, I know I can squeeze at least another half a second... but most likely lap (2) will be the one that I will submit. I am pretty much fed up with Laguna Seca for this week :ill:
I know that will put me behind Small_Fryz (most likely, looking at his T3) - but I just don't know how much will power I have left to make myself run around the 'Dry Lagoon' again... We'll see, still have time until 2AM Central.

I'm done with this week, don't want to see Laguna anymore.
I have no concrete times, nor a replay. I'm out this time.

Hurry up and post Week 2 Challenges so that I can get a fresh start ;-).
I'll have plenty of time, that's for sure. ;)

I feel very stupid. Haha well I never did an oil change and not sure if I did break it in. Thats ok though. Now im just wating for week 2 to get a fresh start like the flaming guy. :)

im submitting times, good luck to wizard, whos chasing my sts time.

cant wait for 002

FOKK! I just switched job hours and had no time to enter :( ah well, I didn't like Laguna anyway :D I'm gonna tryn' enter the next one for sure

You still have 6 hours to submit times. Probably will be better for you guys to submit times to Tank, as I'm gonna be in and out alot this weekend.

Hell, I've had no time this week... barely run any laps for any race, at all :indiff:

Thank you for your encouragement, but I've had it for this week :yuck: :ill:
The STS time that I will submit is the clean one I was talking about a few posts up ^^^
Same for STA, it will be the one that I run yesterday.

About the Opel Speedster Challenge, I can't be bothered to run around the track to break it in... I can't take one more mile, forget 189 👎 ;)

No more 'Dry Lagoon' for me!

Fixing to submit my STA and STS times in a couple of minutes.
I could have probably caught you with my 'dirty' lap, but I can't take anymore of this, even if that means submitting a time that's more than half a second slower.

I will provide my replays, as soon as the 'Results' thread is up... I finally bought myself a Max Drive 👍 :D

Just for kicks, I gave an R34 Skyline a little shake down ... not bad at all. And it's easy to tune 'cause you can't afford any parts :lol:

So:

Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34)
STB
0'23.636
0'44.140
1'06.528

I loved this run. As far as I'm concerned, it was the perfect lap in this car, except for a little slide that cost me 0.200 on the last corner. I'm gonna submit this one instead of my Miata time.

57,480 - Car
4,700 - Sports Brakes
5,700 - Semi-Racing Transmission

67,880 - Total

342 hp @ 4.561 / 98 Miles

There's still a bit of budget for tuning there, and I think the regular V-Spec is a bit cheaper than the V-spec II. I'm not quite sure what makes the Skyline slower than the Camaro :confused: They both have the same weight and hp, and about the same torque at the dealership, and the Skyline handles much better ... I wonder if the full-racing transmission makes that much of a difference :scared:

id say the racing transmission, spreads out the torque really well, keeping the engine in powerband through all 6 gears.

Final times STA
T1=21.776
T2=40.735
T3=1'01.284
