the truth is the Audi TT LM , if you look at the torque curve it is almost flat all the way (that is a good sign) , now take for example the alpha 155 it has the same Hp as the TT and the same drivetrain but the TT is much faster on any track, however I also like the Altezza LM , and the S2000 GT1 , high torque is your best bet assuming your in the same Hp ranges

The Daishin Silvia, RX7 LM. GT40, Concept Car LM edition. The Cusco Subaru, All are good choices for the GT300 series.

I guess the short answer, judging by all the responses is you pick a car you are comfortable with, regardless of the HP then go win with it.
Old gunfighters used to say beware of the man with only one gun, He knows all its strengths and weakness.
IF this is your first time thru the game Try the Audi TT LM, The 4WD makes it a little easier to control. If you're feeling like Niki Lauda or Sterling Moss, Try the GT 40.

Eddy,
Saw your Silvia's Setting in another thread. I am willing to bet it is not behaving well.
Super-Soft tires all around. Drop it into the weeds. Stabilizers to 4 & 5 front and rear. Lower the front sping rate to 2 lb below the rears and give it another try.
If you're beating Red Rock Valley in GT All-Stars you will be kicking some tail in this one.
If the Silvia isn't floatin' your boat. Go to GT All-Stars. Win the race at Laguna Seca. (Use the Unisia Jecs Skyline or Escudo.) Then Take the R390-GT1 road car and mod it up to stage 2 turbo. you will only have 499 hp. It will be more than enough. Get the Racing tranny and bump your auto setting up to 10 (otherwise your top end will be 142 mph...don't ask how many races I lost because the car was blindingly quick, but too slow for the long straight-aways. Hope this helps.:D
