Cataclism in the late year PS2 line-up : Gran Turismo 4 has been dleayed one more time. Already delayed of more than a year in 2003, the release date of this so much awaited Polyphony Digital Game is now slipping from autumn to winter 2004 on SONY Computer Entertainment japanese planning. A new calendar let us clearly see a relese date somewhere in 2005, thus may have some echoes with american and european release dates.


Guess we won't race our GT4 this Christmas...

it just shows KY is polishing the game even more... or is still not satisfied its near completion..

Sony Japan has changed its release target for Polyphony Digital's latest 'driving simulator', Gran Turismo 4, from "fall 2004" to "winter". With separate listings for "winter 2004" and "winter" on the schedule, speculation is now mounting that GT4 has slipped into 2005.

Elsewhere Sony is keeping quiet, with the European and American arms of the company still listing a "November" date. Earlier this year Sony UK refuted suggestions that the game had slipped to 2005, but admitted to this website, "Polyphony are such perfectionists that they won't ship the game until it's absolutely ready." This after a source close to Sony told us, "SCEE won't admit that GT4 will slip yet," insisting that it would come out in 2005.

Yeah, sounds exactly like what everyone else was saying yesterday, that the Japanese release date changed. But as I don't live in Japan, it doesn't affect me directly, except for the POSSIBILITY of a delay in North America. However, with as many delays as this game has suffered (along with the previous three games in the series), it wouldn't surprise me. I might not like it, but it wouldn't be a surprise.

Like many others, i'm gonna wait till TGS for an official word (hopefully), wouldn't be surprised to hear of another delay though the series is famous for it.Good thing GTA:SA is out soon and also juiced will hopefully see a release in the near future.

The GTA delay is only for one week, so I'm not worried about that at all.

As for the GT4 delay, it is all speculation until Sony or PD make an official press release. Otherwise, anyone can make rumors.

delays delays, when making a game like gt there is no "done" just a place you say enough is enough. Theoretically the game can be improved indefinitly and never released. Sure it keeps getting better but if I dont have it, i dont care. Its been delayed for over a year, and i'm finally saying, enough is enough.

I'll keep my self entertained with plenty of porn . I see where KY is coming from hen he says he wants GT4 to be as good as possible, but it's no good taking forever to get there is it, I'll be buying it with my pension.

GT isn't the simulator PD makes it out to be. It may very well be a sim in comparison to some of the arcade-like fluff on the system (NFSU, etc), but it's still got a ways to go. Far better simulations live on the PC platform, it's too bad the price of admission is so much higher there.

Like many others have said before; GT is a driving sim, not a racing sim.
