For anyone who has GT4, do the Rumble Strips affect the cars handling as much as it did in GT3? In GT3 the rumbles can help an F1 car get around a corner as 10-20 mph faster.

Yeah, it can help you take corners a bit faster. I don't know if it's 10-20mph faster though. Probably more like 5mph. But it's tricky, some cars like it and some cars don't. I wouldn't try it with a twitchy car since as soon as one of the wheel grabs the grass, you'll spin out.

In the F1's I get it's at least 10 mph on some tracks like Complex String or Midfield. I always though it was one of the most unrealistic parts of GT3.

Because they want to make it a bit of a surprise for those of us who have a little patience ;).

I've been wondering about something rather minor: do the billboards in GT4 change like in GT2? I always liked blasting around a new track (the old ones stayed the same) and seeing different sponsorship each time. Does this happen in GT4 (on fantasy tracks) or not?

hello chaps...

I know my questions have been asked a thousand times, and I dont want to get flamed.. so just quick answers will be fine.

1) A SPEC points... why? what can they be used for?

2) can you use your mem card in Arcade mode?

and one last final one to round things off.....

3) in the LAST race in the pro series.... what car is everyone using? they look like the 430,000,000 credit ones, I can afford that :( tho im trying to get the money together so I can buy one, but was wondering what everyone else has done. I cant believe everyone has had to build up the money for that one race seeing as the Endurance races are so close yet so far, unless I can get this race out of the way...

many thanks.

:D

1. Somewhat of an indicator of how hard the race is and from what I've read from the forums, mostly everyone says it's for bragging rights.

2. No

3. I used my Toyota GT-one :D

DRT2RM .... cheers for your help! Toyota GT-one.... hmm, I could of sworn I couldnt buy that the other day.

BUT saying that ...that (spelling warning) Tommy karrragh zz ...the faster one.. I couldnt buy that, then yesterday I could buy it.... so I did.

I will get a Toyota GT-one today, cheers again!

shame about the points, but I know that when Im doing a 1 point race, I am happy... I dont brag, nothing to brag about.. I like it easy! lol

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why Polyphony Digital decided not to include the McLaren F1? I'm aware that the Longtail version is in, but I'm rather curious to know why they didn't think the F1 edition was vital to the game? Thanks to all in advance.

Damn good question. Perhaps one of the regional delay reasons? Here's hoping...

I think it is because the longtail version can be badged as a BMW. Just as the Mclaren Mercedes SLR can be badged as a Mercedes. Mc Laren itself probably is licenced by another company,

That sounds very logical. Any idea who has the license?

I first thought of Microsoft because I remembered having seen a screen of Forza wth a McLaren, but I just saw that it was the same Longtail as in GT4. I think EA has the licence for it. I can recall them using the McLaren F1 in their NFS games.

Good point. I have Need for Speed Road Challenge and that contains the McLaren F1 LM so you might be right.

Man, PD got owned on the supercar licenses huh? I'm not flaming GT4. I just wish there were some Porsches in there, that's all. ( I know Ruf is in there and can be better then standard Porsche, but I'd like to drive a stock one)

Imagine driving one of thoes old whale tails in GT4 round the ring. Damn.

Question- Is there something that says that EA has exclusive licences to all the cars that you guys have been talking about?

It seems odd to me that several of the cars that are in GT4 (Camaro, Aston Martin Vanquish, Elise, NSX, Supra, RX-7, etc.) were also present in some NFS games, so why couldnt Polyphony get licencing for the Porsches and Ferraris that were in the NFS games as well?

Some licenses are exclusive, basically EA have signed a contract that allows only EA made games to feature thoes cars, some it's just a case of cost.
