I was just wondering if it wouldn't be cool if they put the fictive french car developer vaillante into the game, there are real cars made, one of them(lola) was on le mans in 2002 together with the leader (panoz) for the movie of michel vaillant. qnd the other cars where in the movie, made of real cars, except the one race car, but I don't remember what it was called.

I'll pm you the link don't post it out though because I've pm'd it to someone else who's not online for a bit and yousendit has a limited number of downloads.

Hi All,

Just wondering if there is still Machine tests like GT3 that is 400m, 1000m, and top speed and if it has changed in any way. Eg. Trap speeds, 60 foot times etc.

Could somebody tell me about the licenses? I woud want to know can you convert them from gt4 prologue or gt3? thx
I've seen it said that you can carry some GTP licences over - you do not get awarded a medal (gold, silver, etc) they are just marked as "passed"

live4speed
In GT3 the race started with the camera you last used, so if you used bonnet cam last race thats what you'll be in the next. As far as I'm aware thats how it is in GT4.

Yes, the race starts out with which ever view you used last.

Yeah, do you think that they will have an area where you can just test drive your cars in a large area or something? That would be neat.

Yes, there's a big open area in driving park. 500cr gets you unlimited play time.
Great for high powered rear drive cars to do donuts in....

I did the GT4: P thing and it only gave me B and A. It just marks them as passed, no medals are awarded, so if you wan the prize car, you still have to take the tests.

I haven't done them yet (just looked at the menu screen), but yes, the machine test section is still there with the 400m, 1000m, and top speed tests. However, it now charges you 500cr to do the test.

500 million credits or just 500 japanese credits each time you visit it?

500cr in the Japanese version. Since the Credits in the Japanese version are scaled like yen, then that'd be like 5 bucks, or 5 cr in the US version assuming the US version gauges the credits to match US dollars.

Oh, and that's 500cr eveytime you want to drive on any of the tracks in sim mode that is not part of an official race. Basically, you got to one of the course hubs (City course, Original course, Real circuit, dirt and snow) on the main menu. 500cr sounds like a lot, but really, it's chump change. hell, chaning your oil or getting a wash costs 5,000cr. A new set of wheels costs 50,000cr. (just for comparison, the very first race, the Sunday cup in begginer hall awards 60,000cr for first place. After that prize credits goes up 100,000>150,000>200,000>300,000>750,000....

But this is in GT Mode also? ( The opportunity to test drive vehicles over the circuits?), cause that would be very helpfull to get the set-up perfect.

I have two questions:

It's possible view the position of wheel (or controller inputs) in replay mode how in GT3? (if it's possible, how?)

The % amount is achieved only in the races of GT mode or in Arcade too?

Only replay, Gt Mode

I had a quick question: in GT4, can you put Aero Kits on your car? That would add to the customization factor a lot. Although I am still going to get the game either way. :)

So, can you choose different paint schemes when you buy racing cars?

There are only wings that add downforce to your car. No complete body kits.

Only on some of them. For example with the Audi R8 you can get a silver/red and a silver/yellow. But the Mazda 787B is only in the green/orange color.

Can someone completely confirm how you unlock cars for arcade? Is it just for when you buy them, or are they unlocked even if you don't?

They become available in Arcade mode when you own them in GT Mode.

The manufacturer was Venturi one of the cars was called the Atlantique, they arn't in GT4 though which is a pity since they are fantastic cars.

gt4, here again, love what kazunori has done with the series, but i'm looking forward to GT5 with damage, realistic graphics, and perfect handling..(hopefully, thats what we will get).
GT4 is good, but not the ultimate. we fuss about it cos there really is no competition out there. but guys, lets be honest, isn't this the same feeling we had when GT3 came out, now compare the two and u can tell there is a big difference just by looking at the screenshots. 'cos GT4 is new, and there is nothing like it out the we give it all the praise in the wolrd (which i still strongly think it deserves.... I know, i seem to be contradicting myself, but hear me out), until GT5 comes out, and does to it, what it has done to GT3. i only hope with GT5, i won't have to wait any longer for the ultimate "real driving simulator"

It's impossible to make a perfect game. There will always be something missing, were not ever going to stop complaining. That's a fact.

There's always going to be a reason to look forward to the predecessor.

that may be true, but there will come a time when it can't get any better, and thats the point i'm talking about. and at that point, GT will evolve into something totally new and fresh, and then we would be justified in our fussing, but heh, i'm not one to spoil the party, lets rock with what we have now, worry about the next step when we get there. besides, we're stuck with currently the best car racing sim to date for like the next 2-3 years (i think), and thats good enough for me...

It can always get better, simply adding one extra car would make it better, it wouldn't be notably better but it would be better. But I have a feeling thats not the point you were making.

Having a perfect game is like having a perfect lap on a track. There is ALWAYS something that can be tweaked, tuned, or just replaced.

And yes Live4Speed, I am following you.

let me try and hit this point again, with arguements both for and against the issue:

- even in real life, real cars do get better in performance and handling, so a game like GT can only keep getting better, cos as the cars that kazunori is trying to replicate are getting better in real life, so must GT, thus one may say the ultimate driving sim may never exist, but at each point in time, there will be one that rules them all, and in this case, we know who that is...

+ imagine a physics engine so good that manufacturers actually get rid of test drivers and just upload thier new designs on the net, we download them (this is at a time when GT is online..), and test the cars from our very homes, so u can decide whether u like them or not, helping u to decide whether to purchase or not. now that'll be pretty cool. but for this to be a reality, the GT code must be at it's optimum, and thats the point i'm trying to make.

until then, i still think GT is the BOOM!, though i may nag, i'm still down...
