BTW, that idiot on the last 2 pages didn't seem to realise that they were actually driving those Ferraris for GT4 stuff. He must have not seen the pic with all the manu. disks. :)

1. What are Manu disks?
2. Show me the pic then.

Hey guys sorry for being stupid, but I cant sit and look through every single post here but will there be any Formula 1 cars in GT4? I just havnt seen anyone talking about them.

You don't have to read through every post. Post #1 is the only post you need.

The only F1 car we know of is the Williams FW16-Renault (listed under Renault), which was seen in the data files for the BMW Demo. It may not be in the final game though.

all the older ones. the 90's cars. i've seen versions of both. like a Plymouth, Chrysler and Dodge neon and intrepid. the prowler used to be a Plymouth, but now Plymouth is no more so the prowler has become a Chrysler.

Its a disk that had Ferrari information on it. It was seen and spied in PD building where GT4 was being made. You'll have to ask someone else for a pic. I have no idea where the thread is.

In the muscle car era, Plymouth and Dodge shared a lot of bits, while Chrysler remained a mainly luxury car brand, so they never really had any muscle cars (with the possible exception of the 300 Letter Series).

In the 80s and 90s, when Chrysler was down financially, and the K-Car was upon us, everything Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth made was very much the same (sometimes the only difference was a badge or different grill). They even all wore the same Chrysler Corporation tri-point star.

Towards the end of the Plymouth brand, their cars were nothing special except for rebadges of other Chrysler and Dodge products with exception of the Prowler. Since everything else that was sold was a rebadge, there was no point in keeping things like the Neon and Breeze, although the Voyager lived on as a cheap alternative to the Town & Country, but that was mostly in name only.

Since the Prowler was iconic, it was moved to Chrysler (Dodge already had the Viper, so it wasn't needed there) to live out the rest of its life before it was cancelled in 2001.

The Prowler in the GT4 screenshots could be a Plymouth version, but I assumed it was a Chrysler since they more then likely choose the most recent model.

the roadrunner and charger shared platforms didn't they? And the Demon and Duster were practically the same car as well.

Hehe, you know what would be cool? An old Plymouth Fury in GT4. squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! on those skinny bias-ply tires.

i was thinking. maybe the reason there are so many different versions of the same car is because everyone that works at PD wants their own car in. so they put in everyone's car that works there even if the car is similar. the employees want their exact version in the game.

what do you guys think?

No, I think it has more to do with it being easier to re-model the bumper and wheels (for example) on a car they've already modelled than starting a new shaped car from scratch.

Also a lot of the manufacturers you are referring to (nissan, mitsubishi, subaru, mazda..) are the ones that are the most co-operative with PD, providing vehicle specs and mesurement data.

I remember with GT2 there was a certain company PD wanted to get (nothing exotic) and they came within hours of having the contract signed when PD found out the company was in the process of being bought out by another and therefore weren't in a position to sign the contract (and someone forgot to tell them!) ...

Mmmm, shame, but all good things must come to an end... :)

i know....

Oldsmobile is on that dead list too.

after looking at the "master list" on page one, it appears that Oldsmobile isn't in attendance.
it would seem that PD would have to squeeze a Old's 442, Cutlass, or at least the '68 Hurst/Olds in there somewhere?

I think there's an Alfa 147GTA too, and perhaps a Nissan Primera in the background.

I hope they put an SC300 in there. I won't be heartbroken if not, it'd just be cool to drive it

Hmmm, still no Lexus (nor Lexii) yet? There's ads for the cars as per this pic.

My guess that it's probably going to be another IS200. But throwing an old '90 LS400 or an RX300 into the mix might be interesting!

The Toyota Aristo pictured below will most probably be re-badged as a Lexus for appropriate markets.
The SC430 and IS300 sports cross were modelled for GTC, and are most likely to reappear.
