I hope that they do sounds well because real Audi's 5-line turbo engine sound is awesome (And performance also). :)

Is the Nissan 240RS rally car's colours final? It's not same that they used often in rallying. And is the car in game 240RS or 240RS ET (=evolution 2)? If it is from year 1985 it is maybe ET.

Same question but different car, What evolution is RS200 rally car? ~400hp or ~600 hp?

And is Lancia Delta S4's year that year when it appear? The Delta seen is pictures is from 1986... Notice rear wing. In RAC 1985 there was only little rear wing and in 1986's model there is a bit bigger wing...

Little but sometimes important things...

Actually Eagle was the creation of AMC before they were bought by Chrysler. Since they were closely tied to Jeep, since Jeep is really what Chrysler wanted, so Chrysler expanded it out into what they were in the early 90s. It is true however that a lot of their stuff was from Mitsubishi.

You mean DSMs (diamond star motors)? Who's the punk that said we don't need eagle?! Since the eclipse wasn't ever officially sold here in Canada, the talon took it's stead and is one of the best affordable sports cars on the road. They also used a variant of the EVOs 4G63 powerplant, a very durable and potent little engine. Sadly, the current gen eclipse is all that remains, and it's become a bloated ladies' car (no offense), with a big v6 and sloppy styling.

Oh yeah and eagle had other cars, but none of them mattered. Unless you want to race the "accidental dodge" (Eagle Premier, or Vision).

And, strangely enough, this whole deal started out with Renault in the 80s. They wanted to sell cars in the states, so they thought AMC would help them out (go figure). Then Chrysler snatched up AMC (like the359 stated), and killed off the AMC name, christening the new division "Eagle".

Just going off of the other rally cars in GT3, I would assume that it would be the 400bhp version because only the escudo came with more than 500bhp stock.

I'm not sure .. but I'm hoping we have some competition for the Escudo in GT4 .. It very well may be the 600bhp version. I'm actually hoping for the more powerful one, as one can never have too many powerful cars :D

if we're talking about crazy powerful cars, I wouldn't mind seeing the Dahlback golf in there to nip at the escudo's heels. 900hp, 4-wheel drive equipped land missile. Just imagine lighting up all 4 tires in an insane powerslide.

the 359 what happened to the toyota gt one road car? im sure it was on your list but when i checked it on my phone it was gone? aint it confirmed?

Any Dahlback racers would be nice I guess. I saw this movie of a Dahlback Audi (a mid eighties) and it was absolutely brutal. Awesome sound. It's fairly widespread, you can find it on any download agent or alta vista I guess. If you've never heard of Dahlback it's well worth checking out.

Edit: here's a link for you with some impressive audi/Dahlback movies:

Edit: I just saw there's some pikes peak movies in there as well.

Remember, we've got 80 Manufacturers!
There are tons of cars we haven't heard of yet.
Further to that, I think the official GT site only has 53 (or 58? don't remember what i counted) manufacturers listed as of right now... so there's at least another 12-17 co's to come.

The Nissan R34 GTR M-spec 2001 (GTC) needs to be added to the list. Different car to the M-Spec Nür.

I had a look at the credits in the back of my Gran Turismo 3 and Gran Turismo Concept handbook. Under Shelby as exclusively licensed it mentions the GT-350, GT-500, Cobra Coupe, Cobra 427 S/C and the Series 1. One car made it to GT3 but none in GTC, as they are listed under the credits for GT3 and GTC and not actually in the game does it hold a possibility for them to be in GT4 as three of them are now already on this list?

All I'm saying is, why have cars in the credits that aren't in the game, and does it mean that the ones not mentioned on the list already have a chance of making it to GT4.

Ah, I just assumed that when Plymouth crapped out they took the Prowler with them.

Sorry .. double post. GTP seems to be running really really slow for me right now ..

If they only licensed one of the cars exclusively, some other game could purchase the rights to one of those other cars and have a remarkably similar shelby in their game...they probably purchased all those cars so that nobody could do just that.

- just a thought from a student-lawyer, I could be wrong.

The Motor Triathlon Race Car was confirmed in a toyota press release. Here's a quote from it. There is a asterisk next to it listing it as a possible.

The MTRC will be showcased in Gran Turismo 4, the latest version of the popular Sony Playstation game developed by Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphony Digital.

"We have taken the opportunity of extracting the technology from a futuristic car, and reproducing it in a virtual world," stated Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of Gran Turismo. "This has been a very exciting experience for our team, who are always curious about new technology."

The asterisk simply indicates the car was present in GT4:Prologue. There have been many screencaps, and one whole demo, devoted to the car, so we know it's there.

Specialist ice racing models have appeared in previous GT games - despite the absence of any dedicated courses - so it's expected that they'll finally be put to good use this time around.
Quoted from granturismoworld.com...

I've been wondering about the Ice Race cars from GT2, since we actually have an Ice Race course this time. So I hope the Tigra Ice Race Car (and the other that I can't recall) will make a reappearance.

Oh, and since Isuzu is featured in GT4, I have a sneaky suspicion that the VehiCross may slip in there... ;)
