Week 45 ​

This week’s theme will be "Silhouette" as chosen by Week 44 Winner Vonie. ​

Further explanation of theme:
Not much needed here, just take a lovely pic of the dark outline of a car contrasting with a light background.

Tracks: Any
Phototravel: Yes

• Winner will select the top 10 for the poll and pick the theme for the following week.
• Post your final entry in red letters. Such as “Final Entry”
• A preview image may be used, but it may be no bigger than 300*400 pixels by either photo orientation.
• You may have two honorable mentions if a preview image is not used.
• You may change your Final Entry once. If if you do so, please edit your original entry make a new post linking to it.
• Do not use an entry from a previous competition.
• Do not post more than three photos in this thread.
• Only one entry may be submitted, and it must be uploaded using Imageshack and have the thumbnail picture.

You can use layers for overlay and layer adjustments, but not to alter the geometry and original subject matter of the picture: like adding stickers and body kits, and objects that are not in the original image.​

Looks nice george, but I don't think it really fits the theme cause the car doesn't really contrast with the background but other then that good job.

I did think of that for a minuite but then I remembered this picture I taken which alredy looked slightly like a silhouette, I edited it slightly and thought It'd be ok

Thank u, i wasn't too sure about it to begin with but its growing on me.

The sun looks very big, I can get that effect using Lens Flare which is'nt in the allowed filters list, sorry if I'm wrong.

i didnt use lens flare, i just alterd the hue/saturation levals

There's no lens flare used on that picture, or there would be small refracted circles of light. It looks like a liberal amount of contrast .

I like George_Morley's, I can never manage a shot like that, just the absolute edges of a car being highlighted. Stijloo's has a very bizarre atmosphere that made me want to look at it more. Jame's is very nice (good car choice!), but I'm really liking slo-car's right now 👍

It will depend on how you look at it. Silhouette can be:

-A dark image outlined against a lighter background.
-A photo where the background has been removed, leaving only the main subject; also called a cutout.
-A subject with no key light, and a brightly illuminated background.
-A silhouette is a view of an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior. The term comes from Étienne de Silhouette, Louis XV's miserly finance minister.
