Week 63

This week’s theme will be "Elegance" as chosen by Week 61 Winner dmanbluesfreak. ​

Further explanation of theme: ​

Simple, take a picture which you think fits the theme and has an air of elegance about it.
Photo Travel only, and car must be visible in picture!

Cars: Any.
Tracks: None, technically.
Phototravel: Yes, only.
​

• Winner will select the top 10 for the poll and pick the theme for the following week.
• Post your final entry in red letters. Such as “Final Entry”
• A preview image may be used, but it may be no bigger than 300*400 pixels by either photo orientation.
• You may have two honorable mentions if a preview image is not used.
• You may change your Final Entry once. If if you do so, please edit your original entry make a new post linking to it.
• Do not use an entry from a previous competition.
• Do not post more than three photos in this thread.
• Only one entry may be submitted, and it must be uploaded using Imageshack and have the thumbnail picture.

[Note:No plug-ins for any of the above adjustments or filters are to be used]​

You can use layers for overlay and layer adjustments, but not to alter the geometry and original subject matter of the picture: like adding stickers and body kits, and objects that are not in the original image.​

Awesome work there. The tones and the reflections on the car are beautiful, and you did a very good job on the background too.

Did you do anything to the tarmac?

I remeber that impressive Spirra! Good to see it again. Amazingly effective Mog's shot one more time.

Haha. Sejtur, you can't say that actually after seeing what you did in the Head2Head comp man lol. I think that pic could fit better in a hardcore racers theme.

Mmm, I have a very special one made, but finally I went this E-Type wich is one of the most elegant car built ever. Hope you like it.

Thanks guys! The only thing I remember doing to the tarmac is making sure it was completely desaturated and then darkening areas around it to make the car stand out a bit more.

I'm using a car that isn't expected to be elegant but has damn beautiful lines.

Crap. As soon as I saw the theme I thought: Aston Martin.
But soon enough there were plenty of those.

Then I thought: Jag Type E. And soon enough alex gets one up (beautiful shot too, btw).

Then I thought: Jag XJ220. And now, suzq has one of those too...
(is it coincidece or not that these are all british cars? )


So, after carefully considering, I decided NOT to participate on this comp. Damn, I'm pissed! All the time I spent taking shots for this one...

or the M5, or a TVR speed 12.. or one of the Benz's .. ANY car would work here; hell even the SKYLINEs would work.

But I really can't think of a car that suits the theme that well. Unless I come up with a way to show a totally different car in a way that it screams elegance, which is not likely.

Alex, it turns out it's not that bad you can't enter the GT-One, the Jag is great as well.

Mog, I like that Aston shot better, the text in the border only makes it more stylish. 👍 But I must say I like the 1st pic you took for it in your gallery the best.

Thanks! The first one had been too heavily edited in the end, I think it would have broken some of the 2.0 rules. I'm happy with my entry now anyway. 👍
