Looks like some of us have to grab some Video Option or Drift Tengoku to know this guy better ;)

No offence to alex but themes like this usually draw very little entries...

Is he the guy that's like the father of drifting?

But even with that, I still don't understand what exactly is intended here...
____

Alex, fill us in on what's your goal on this one. :)

Keiichi Tsuchiya is the well known "Drift King" of japan. much like Rhys Millen of australia, or USA if you want. back in the days, he raced with Toyota in the AE86 Trueno JGTC, F3's in macau, the Advan Skyline GT-R in the GT500 series, and the most recent was the Super Autobacs Honda NSX-R. if you guys want a fitting photo for this theme, you can either use the AE86 drifting in a road or mountain course. he wasn't a very good racing driver, but he was well known for his drifting skills. so i guess that might be what alexwrc is looking for. i say he should of restricted the car to the ones Keiichi actually drove. if i were you, i would take either a red AE86 or a silvia in some mountain track and just make it look real. i dont understand how anyone that's into japanese cars or drifting not know him. guess he's not that famous after all  jk. here's some more info about the man himself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keiichi_Tsuchiya

you guys can also look for his name on youtube and there's a whole crapload of videos about him. so u guys can use it for reference i guess.

i already have an entry for this comp, but i'm gonna wait a little while :D goodluck everyone.

I don't know about the Red AE86, I guess you saw the Drift Bible video
but I think his very special AE86 is a white Trueno that made lots of appearance in Hot Versions
FYI, he also raced Toyota GT-ONE in 24hr Lemans, as well as the Arta NSX in JGTC
too bad there isn't any Advan R32 Skyline in GT4
but drifting some old school skyline would be interesting enough

Hmmmm, interesting theme alex.

I know some stuff about Keiichi, I have got quite a few Best Motoring videos including the Drift Bible. :)

Guess I will use the good old Trueno, that was the car I learnt to drift in GT4. :D

Also, Rhys Millen is from NZ jgda9rs. ;)

He also piloted an NSX GT2 in the 1995 LeMans race (the NSX GT2 looks similar to the NSX LM Race Car in GT4) and he owns an NSX Type-S Zero.

thanks for clearing those out guys :D my bad. i didn't actually know he drove the gt1 toyota in le mans. that's awesome.

Thanks Adrian for so amount of info. There are a lot of combinations, drifting or following the racing line so I think this is a very open theme actually.

You can use almost any JDM car, tuner car, AE86 Vs Amuse without any doubt it will fit good in Tsukuba, Suzuka or Motegui. Of course he drove an official GTone at LeMans, Arta NSX at the GT500... and more if you like.

I've got an idea of where to do this :) Now I just need to get myself an AE86!

My drifts generally end up in the wall, and what is a AE86? Whos it made by and how much?

Ahem, its a Toyota Sprinter Trueno (it looks like you dont watch initial d a lot huh...) I think it was mentioned many times in this thread.

Anyways, what does the theme means  Is it supposed to be what Keiichi Tsuchiya could do in GT4 (or what he does in motorsport/best motoring? Does that mean a good touge match or one of those one handed steering?Or even a drift chain?I don't know but i'll think up something....

Edit:Darn it! Alex beat me to it.Well yeah, whatever he said.....

Or you can use the car from the Late 90's lot, the Sprinter Trueno SS Edition 👍

And yeah, there are 3 versions of AE86 in GT4 I think, including the Trueno and the Shigueno Version.

Oh my god, no! I just created a shot that I felt really reflected him really well but it's not taken on a real track, it's taken on an original track instead! I didn't notice that bit! It took me about an hour of editing too. :( :( Any chance of allowing original tracks if they reflect the theme? :(

Haha, high five. I did the same thing. I originally had a street shot that was turning out well. I really wanted to do a shot at Trial Mountain but the lighting there is horrible. Trial Mountain would be a good place for touge shots.

I can't change the rules because they are for everyone, not by request. I haven't any inconvenience to do it, but people could get ungry.

Probably you can do a clon in a real track, no? I bet you can.

PS. My themes are crappy lately rather interesting :(

Nope, it's a touge shot. Considering he started out by doing that I'd have thought mountain tracks would have been allowed.

Oh well, I'll post it in my gallery instead and enter something else at a later date. Next time I'll read the rules more carefully!

Well, I'm sure it's not required, but I'd like to explain why I shot the picture I did. I know Tsuchiya best from his Best Motoring Video's and, aside from touge battles, Best Motoring is probably most famous for its multi-car comparison races at Tsukuba. Tsuchiya has mentioned that he owns an NSX Type-S Zero and it is well known that his trade mark colour is jade green...so...

FINAL ENTRY

I hope you like it! 👍

I'll get an entry too, alex. 👍

I already started on it last night, hopefully will be submitted tomorrow.

Only thing is, as I didn't knew almost nothing about the guy, I had to search the net for some info, and don't know how credible will the shot look for you guys, maybe I'm having all the work and it ends up being plain stupid.

Ah, whatever. I'll trust it's ok. :dunce:

Does this count?I don't know if Tsuchiya drove the GT-One (and i know, the R8 exist after the GT-One....)

I'm not sure if i could even do photoshopping :nervous: darn it! i just wanted to try something out....
