This week’s theme will be "Toys" as chosen by Week 67 Winner alexwrc. ​

Further explanation of theme: ​

In the words of Alex:
My theme is "Toys". That's like an inspirational theme wich can be understood in several ways. Surely GTP guys will drop great funny ideas with this!

Cars: Any.
Tracks: Any.
Phototravel: Yes.
​

• Winner will select the top 10 for the poll and pick the theme for the following week.
• Post your final entry in red letters. Such as “Final Entry”
• A preview image may be used, but it may be no bigger than 300*400 pixels by either photo orientation.
• You may have two honorable mentions if a preview image is not used.
• You may change your Final Entry once. If if you do so, please edit your original entry make a new post linking to it.
• Do not use an entry from a previous competition.
• Do not post more than three photos in this thread.
• Only one entry may be submitted, and it must be uploaded using Imageshack and have the thumbnail picture.

[Note:No plug-ins for any of the above adjustments or filters are to be used]​

You can use layers for overlay and layer adjustments, but not to alter the geometry and original subject matter of the picture: like adding stickers and body kits, and objects that are not in the original image.​

This is unfair I came up with an idea to include a racing car making it a big toy, but there are no racing cars allowed.....

“Toys”??? I like the challenging theme but, how am I suppose to do that??? But do you mean “toys” by children “toys”???

Yup, it's like a metaphor. You can take the theme is several ways, something you think is funny, as children toys are. Get inspiration in it! Play with it!

Ah, now I went for an old shot that I tried to rework, but it's of a Pagani Zonda LM Race Car so I don't think I'll enter that, I'll use it as a gallery update instead. It's my 'crazy toy' you see!

That was the image I thought of when you PM'd me Alex, but I'm wondering how people will manage, since that was for a Photoshop competition. With 2.0 rules, that kinda thing can't really be done...

Typo fixed, btw, I could've swore I had checked for that before, woops!

(EDIT) Come to think of it, through some creative interpretation of the rules... "toy" car shots can actually be done, but perhaps we should open the topic up for discussion.

Lovely memory from the past ... I still think Slipz entries were the best

I think it is possible to make mini-car with current 2.0 rules, since there are too many grey areas but I am not going to encourage anyone to attempt unless you guys really really want to have a go.

But I mainly remember my last run at Tsukuba in a Clio V6 cup race. The yellow Vs pink atomic ants was... really funny to see . About the car deformation, probably someone will do something with tiny cars or eye fish lens, who knows! Come on, suprise us!

Do you mean by the rules or in Photoshop? It can be done in Photoshop by using Quick Mask but the rules don't state anything about gradient blurs. If I'm not allowed to do that I'll simply replicate the shot using the blur tool.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, I might rework it today using a different shot, one that better fits the theme. 👍

It's allowed, but I saw the nice gradient blur of your shot and I never used quick masks for that. I've learned something more :tup:

So to be clear, are minicars transformed on photoshop gonna be allowed?
Because that falls out of the rules of this competition.

If it's allowed, I'll do one of those. Otherwise, I'll stick to my original idea.

Nope, it isn't Beerz. We are in the flat 2.0, so the Franz's image was just an example of the past and we can't break the law hehe.
