This week’s theme will be "Backlit" as chosen by Week 78 Winner Beerz.
Further explanation of theme:
In the words of The Beer Man:
Shots where the car is between the viewer and the light source, but not necessarily meaning the light source is hidden behind the car. Play with the lights and reflections...
Cars: Any. Any amount too!
Tracks: Any.
Phototravel: Yes.

Creative theme... Well chosen Beerz 👍

Thanks, jaco-man. Hoper to see an entry from you on this one. 👍

Dr. Beer: You mean silhouette right?
Dr. Beer says: not necessarily, franz.
I'm leaving it somewhat open to interpretation, the light can be slightly above or aside the car, as long as it's behind it. Doesn't need to be a full sillhouette shot, lots of room for playing with the light...
...which also doesn't necessarily mean it's the sun. ;)

as i said - intriguing. I may have one up later today.
NOT AN ENTRY
or
Something like this would fit your idea, correct?
They're older shots, so I can't use them anyways - i figured i'd show an example, if allowed?

suz - Close, but not quite; I'd prefer that the angle between viewer/car/light remained as close to '0' as possible (or at least not that high), or if someone used a shot similar to the ones you posted, there'd be more contrast between light/shadow and the light source wasn't visible.

Hope I made myself clear on this one, even I can't understand what I just typed... :dunce:

wow Beerz! very cool theme. POV, car, light all on the same(ish) plane. I love it. Your clever little drawing is clear as mud!!!! :sly:

I'm sorry, hope you don't mind, but the sun is 5º 32' 15,3'' to the right.

People, THAT is what you don't have to do :D

Final entry

Beerz, lovely explanation of the theme . It remembers when I was in the 3rd grade

Alex - Damm...thats a fancy shot:tup:

FINALENTRY

I try to do the opposite of what alex has done
but the result isn't much different from my iDrive shot
sounds like I am running out of idea :P

I hope SlipZ doesn't get upset that I'm posting this, it's just to show a basic backlight shot. Only has b/c adjusted, no 2.0'ing done.
If I were to edit it in 2.0, I'd highlight some of the car's lines or whatever, and some more (as it is, it's just a basic silhouette shot). It's just to show the basics of what I'm looking for; lots of contrast. alex's shot, although it has the light source visible, is a good example of the car aspect I'm looking for.

much like the f1 shot i did long time ago, where the light is behind the car. sorry too lazy to dig up the link for it :D but my idea would be, if you have the us version of the gt5 prologue, this theme's idea would be the same as the begginning movie (the very first part where the pit crew were pushing a race car).

Yeah, something like that would be awesome. 👍

nice shot of the audi. I will have to try some stuffs.. cya! off to bed i goes.

That audi is sweet!

I was trying a different take on " backlight"...not sure if it pulls it off though.:indiff:

I remember seeing a couple links to free downloadable photoshop programs, but now I can't seem to find them. Anyone know what I'm talking about, and whether they're capable of doing things like this? Thanks.

GIMP is the next best thing to PhotoShop, and works basically the same. But GIMPShop is even closer to Photoshop because some things are changed to make it look more like Photoshop. I'd just get GIMP, and all the tutorials should work, I use GIMP and I used those tutorials to edit my shots. If you have any questions I'd be happy to help.
