Number 3 for me with the vette. That picture is amazing, and makes me think, yep, that describes Laguna right there. Great job for whoever took that picture!

A lot of those pics look very samey to me so I went with a nice moody shot that stood out from the pack.

It's ironic that you say that, because your picture didn't make it exactly because the same think had been done before (ie Mazdas and that finish-line board) and I wanted the poll to be varied with no two pictures looking the same.

Some great pics there, I'm having a tough time choosing between the Toyota's and the Renesis RX8 . Since the theme was Laguna Seca, I would have thought that pics that didn't highlight the theme would be dismissed. I see less than half of the pics up there that have anything to do with the theme. No doubt they were taken at LS, but it looks like they could have been taken on any track.

I voted for the #10 but #1, #3, #8 and #15 were great also.

If #15 wasn’t so dark it would be perfect.

Yeah I knew that, however that was the shot I had in mind before I took it and I decided that I wasn't going to be put off just because a similar shot had already been done - as franz said a few weeks ago, if you think you can do a better version of the same shot, go for it - so I did. Unfortunately it didn't make it into the top 20, but if it had then I think it would have stood a better chance of getting votes than some of the other shots I took, but rejected as being too dull (or too similar to other shots but not imo better than them).

But that's the risk you take in this competition - do you go for something different to make the top 20, or do you go for the knock-out 'money' shot that is likely to pull votes and hope that it makes the cut against similar pics? I took the latter route last week and missed out, although I did enter at the last minuite which probably also played into the equation. This week I've tried a different tack and entered early (before anyone can steal the idea out of my head!), although I would have liked to see what other entries come in. We'll see if it worked at the end of the week

Yes, the fact that it was entered at the last minute also counted. Not only that, but early from the beginning I liked the colors in ALPHA's picture and it would be difficult to "substitute" that one.

I had assumed this was the reason I didn't make it. You know, you can't start looking for your top 20 early on, and once you've got it, discredit all the others that come in after that.

I felt that my Zoom Zoom picture was more top20 worthy than a good few that made it, and it was original with no others like it. People who have lives outside of GT4 shouldn't be punished because they entered at the last minute due to time restraints elsewhere in their schedule.

Anyway, I'll just assume that I didn't make it because I was too late... unless you tell me otherwise. I'm starting to think the comps should end on Fridays, picks chosen on Saturdays, and Polls up on Sundays. Just because someone likes 20 entries submitted in the first 3 days shouldn't mean that nobody else has a chance of making it after that.
