By popular request I bring you the Photomode Magazine Cover Competition. This will be a weekly thing to test both the photoshop abilities and photomode abilities of residents of the planet.

Rules:

Only Imageshack thumbnails will be considered for entry.
Use your own pictures.
One entry per person, per week.
Mark FINAL ENTRY in red on your final entry.
Stick with the theme.
Cite all sources you get your magazine logos from (not on the magazine, but in the post)
The picking will go like the Photomode Competition goes by a poll
Failure to abide by the rules results in DQ.

Theme

This weeks theme, as picked by franz, will be Rally.

Deadline
Sunday May 8th.

Do the cars have to be race ready or can they be the street version as well?

I actually send a pm to BX that the theme is RALLY
but anyway ... I am not limiting the car choice, not just race mod cars
we can make something like amateur rally photos
not necessary to be WRC genre

There all plenty of rally cars in the game, I think we should only be able to use rally cars or maybe nothing other than 4WD cars.

what I am worry about is not everyone have many rally cars
so I am thinking to get more varieties in case some people don't have one
and the special condition hall is awefully hard
what I am expecting is ... as long as the car you use has some rally history
so what do you guys think?

I still think any 4WD car would be good enough, that leaves cars like:

Skylines
Audi TT 3.2 Coupe
Impreza
Lancer
Dodge Ram
Opel Calibra Touring Car
Any Audi Car
Mitsubishi FTO
Mitsubishi 3000GT
Any Subaru
Alfa Romeo 155

and heaps more...

I know it is franz's theme, but i think a rally car theme should only include rally cars, might be just me but i think that would be better

Yes agreed, but he better verify the exact theme soon as I will go happy snapping soon.

Sorry franz, I'll edit it. I made the thread in a hurry.

But you can't say that the Audi TT or the Opel Calibra Touring Car (and a few others) have a rally history, and are associated with rallying in any way

Yes true, there is only a few cars in that list with rally history.

I think as long as the theme of the magazine is rally then I don't think it matters what car is featured on the cover - within reason of course, obviously certain race cars are not appropriate.

but there are plenty of production cars that are used in rally events by privateers and theres absolutely heaps of FWD cars that have no wrc equivilant. Even the big heavy RWD Commodore & Falcon sedans are raced in Australian rallys under the relevant class (older models than the ones in GT4 though).

edit: here's a link of a new model commodore off road, be sure to check out the short video (click on broadband link) :)

I really think you should stop using gradient fills in huge areas on your covers, it makes them look too cheesy and of poor quality. Perhaps a transparent black in that box, or even NO box with just a really nice drop shadow would suit it better.

Thanks but I think this is the end of me, i'm just not good enough and only getting 1-2 votes per week is not really satisfying.

You should pick up a few real world magazines and get inspiration from those. Plus, today is only Wednesday, use as much available time as you can to work on it.

I'm dirt poor and don't buy many magazines, and it's thursday afternoon here and I have a big sunday planned so won't be on then. And I am not very good at this so I like to post my progress for tips and stuff, which I am really grateful everyone :)

eastly, looking MUCH better already. the title 'pops' a lot more.

maybe make it just a bit more transparent, like 10-20% or so.

Looks good east! 👍

Ive done a bit more to mine !

Looks pretty good, I don't have any suggestions as I am not exactly that good at this stuff.

I tend to like the bolder blockier text though, but thats just me.
