RE: Sarthe

I thought i would like it when i first got gt4... then when i drove it, i didn't. I only enjoyed the straight, i thought the infield sections weren't so great.

But then again this is coming from a guy that only really loves 2 tracks in GT4, SS5 and Tsukuba.

I never met a track I did'nt like.................eventually.

If you do not like a track, it is only because you have not worked it out yet :)

Am I right ?

Completely right. I used to hate Hong Kong and Opera Paris because I couldn't master them. But recently, I've been racing there to improve my skills, and the mastery of the gold licences in those particular tracks gave me the confidence to move on.

It's not due to inability to conquer the track. I just don't enjoy it. Most of the time when i was going through the process of completing GT4, i just pick the fastest car and try get it over and done with so i can buy my fav cars and tune them on SS5 :D. It's been that way since GT2

Not really. Some car and track combinations (beyond the obvious, i.e. 4WD car on a rally course) seem to work better than others. Some will say it's all in your head (and I don't know, it might be), but I've never been a fan of the BMWs in GT4 (or BMWs in general, to be honest) but I found 320i (or 330i or w/e) touring car to be ridiculously quick on the Nurburgring. Just an example.

Opera is alright in a s2000, especially the Opera S2000... sounds lame i know

I felt it was alright in a Chevelle! Basically, the Ai doesn't know how to take certain corners at Paris, but does other areas of the track flawlessly. If you know how to beat the Ai in its weak spots (the entire section just before and after the Start/Finish line is a great example) Opera/Paris doesn't seem as bad.

The only track I don't like is Numeburg.I like driving it it just takes so long to make one lap.Around 12 mins.

Dammit, I hate it when I agree with a Tasmanian. And change the bloody font mate, it makes my eyes bleed.

okay 👍

hehe, thanks. You have a good point though. The huge number of tracks are all there for a reason and are quite different. If you don't like a track in the game it may point to an area in which you could improve your driving.

The point about not mastering a track is absolutely true. I "hate" George V, but I know that I'm just really bad at it, and hope to finally learn it eventually.

I'm afraid to say it, but my least favourite is Motorland Normal. Probably comes from the Reverse being my testing tack (along with the Nurburgring) but I just think that it doesn't flow properly.

My least favourite tracks have got to be those Beginner tracks - Beginner Course and Motorland. They don't flow and the Beginner Course is too damn easy.

@Codename L: What were you driving? A Volkswagen Lupo?

Indeed, either Hotshot44 was driving a Fiat Panda, or he was exaggerating for effect.

I now have a bit better idea of the general categories of tracks I hate. One is tracks with mostly approximately 90 degree corners, like New York, Hong Kong, and George V. The other is tracks that are impossible to race on, like Beginner course, because there are no passing points at all. Tokyo doesn't really fit into either of those categories; I just dislike it, particularly the reverse version.

Likely exaggerating for effect, as you say, Austin. I remember a friend of mine telling me at the time he got the game, "there's a track that is around eleven minutes to complete it!". I was like . And about the tracks with no passing points, you are absolutely right! Hong Kong is useless for racing. Unless you are driving a car faster than the rest of the field, or minimally underpowered (around 100 horsepower or 200 horsepower, but really depends on the rest of the field weight), you can't pass at all. The corners are just too tight, and if you crash on the walls, say good bye to the first place.

I hate the 'Ring. It's boring because it's 20km long...

another one I hate is Test Course. It just goes on and on and on with no challenge at all...

The ring has got to be one of the best tracks in the world,i dont understand how anyone can hate it...all xx minutes of it is a joy.

Just for fun i take the ring on with my 100hp Civic's and crx's! thats how much i like it

one of the tracks i dont particularly like is Laguna,im ok racing at it but it just bores me terribly
