I have a question that I think I know the answer to. On my best lap so far, coming out of the far hairpin, I just glanced one or two cones on the exit. Would this dq me? The way I thought of it was that the cones are sitting where the rumblestrip was, and that if it was a rumble strip, it would be legal.

Cones are legal in my book, as long as there is no wall touch. Generally cones are where a rumble strip would be if there wasn't a different circuit route there.

But...I avoided all cones AND going beyond the yellow lines on the hairpin before those cones just to be on the safe side. No one defined if running way wide (the faster line) on that hairpin, decidedly out of the "circuit" was out or in. So to be safe I stayed in and avoided cones (after running that hairpin wide using that little section of road where the cones are is faster too).

I stayed in the yellow lines though, I figured that was out of bounds. It doesn't seem that that would be a faster line though, you are just extending the hairpin out further, but I haven't experimented too much on that turn.

GOLD!!! Pure Gold!

This is gonna be a lot of fun gentlemen! I can't wait to get started.

I agree i cant wait, I think Mr P, Sphinx and the likes will have some close competition in WRS GT4 and im gonna be one of them :P.

This is looking to be lots of fun!

Hi all. I'm new to this and have no idea how I'm gonna go, just submitted my qualifying time then.

How long do people usually spend getting their time? I think I spent about an hour or two, still with room for improvement but I really couldn't be bothered continuing any longer!

I only spent about 45 min. on my qualifying, don't want to be in a division where I'm always last, I'd rather work my way up through the ranks. I've raced at other sites for the last year and am usually between very good and the leaders. I don't think that will be the case here. I 've been watching this site for about 6 months and can tell there are some monster drivers here. I just can't wait to race with all of you. Does anyone know when Kent will be posting our division? Will the first race be next week? I'm not too anxious!

The cutoff date for the Qualifier will coincide with the WRS change to Gran Turismo 5.

Not new to GT, but new to WRS, so I can't wait to see how things go. I put a lap I liked together on Friday, then spent all weekend chasing it, convinced that at least 1.9 seconds could be shaved off. Finally, right before I went to bed last night I took 1.5 seconds off the time over 5 last laps. I'm still convinced I have a long way to go, but I think for me it's a close to best effort for my skill level, so I'll be submitting my time right after I post this.

So hello all from a newbie to WRS (rubbing hands in anticipation).

Yeah, 'tis rather exciting, I've never done anything like this before. I only spent about 2 hours on my lap 'cos my hands started to hurt from trying so hard, I'd been playing GT4 all day and I use a DS2 controller.

I bet I still got a rubbish laptime though!

Bah.
I can't load my best lap ghost for some reason. I have terrible understeer through the whole track, and oversteer on 2nd gear. I'm also feeling fever'ish.

5 more laps, and I'll submit my time :D

edit: The extra laps paid off! Now I'll submit the time. See you in WRS! 👍

Hello racers, i'm glad I found the WRS and i'm looking forward to competing.

Any idea when the series is supposed to get underway? I am anxious about getting going. The suspence is killing me!!!

I've never really tried time trial before in any GT game (nothing like this anyway), and I'm really enjoying it so far. 👍

I didn't spend much time on my qualification TT though; hopefully I'll play more for the first challenge! :)

I'm still waiting to see what division I'm in....

As a new member here on GTP and finally getting my copy here in Japan from my GF in the states, I will get my Qualifying completed and week #1 and submitted.

May not be the best out there, but it is all in the fun of enjoying the game.

mrhambone
so how do we find out what division we're in !?

Just look around. ;) If you don't see your name on either divisions then don't worry. Kent updates the list regulary.

No Kent doesnt pm you what division you are in, he updates the list. Just give the poor guy a chance guys, it has been 24hrs since he did it. he hasnt even been online in the last 12hrs. If youve pm him your time he will place you in a division, just race this week as by the end of the week it will be sorted

Hi everyone, this looks likes a bit of a hoot, just submitted my time :scared: .

That encompasses, what, the whole track?

Welcome and good luck!

Well, I'll echo alot of prior posts, "Not new to GT but new to WRS, looks like this will be alot of fun."

Must've put away 30-40 laps before I felt OK about PM'ing Kent my time. Another echo, "I'm sure I could've shaved another .2 - .7 seconds off that."

Looking forward to abusing the Nismo now, gonna be fun :sly:

Oh yeah, I had my photographer friend at Infineon during my qualifying, he snapped these 👍

Can I submit a qualification time *AND* my race #1 results virtually together? IE put me in a division and then apply my race results to that?

Or do I need to qualify several days ahead of submitting my Race#1 time?

Submitting both at the same time should not be a problem at all, I'm sure Kent will take care of everything for you.:)
