The DS2 in my hands is useless for braking and accelerating together as always and this loss will be noticeable in most flowing easy tracks :indiff: ... The motto here is catch Hugo and bag the win 👍

Indeed, there's a great bonus for smooth DPF'ers (Includes Hugo) - the first long right-hander can be taken at an extra 4-5KM/h if you're smooth with the wheel, and us DS2ers are restricted to an extra 2-3KM/h if we're smooth.

Olddriverdan and others that might not already know, getting DIRECTLY in front of the AI after passing them(and giving them a couple seconds to register) will usually make them aware of your presence. If you're not on exactly the same line into the corner as they are(you BETTER hug the inside), they will act like you're not there. 👍

Dunno if I'll have time to race this week, we'll see what the weekend holds.

Thanks, i didn't:tup:

I see zero reason to be behind the AI for more than a split-second this week... They're usually passed before they notice it.

@Sphinx

Deutsche Post is currently still messing with my Max Drive, they stored it at the wrong location to pick up, then send it to the right one on Monday but as of today it still hasn't arrived there (internal post delivery takes >=4 days, isn't that hilarious) so i am not sure i'll be able to submit a replay in time (as i'm away from home for a week from Tuesday on). Is that a huge problem? I will definitely provide a replay, it just don't know if i can make the deadline :/

Just save the replay and keep hold of it in case I need to view it once your replay device arrives. 👍 👍

I have a pretty good time saved that I might hang on to. Liking this challenge alot. However, on one spot, making a pass on the straightaway, I have two wheels between the outside white line, and the 6inches of pavement before the grass, and the rest of the car is hanging off into the grass, is this okay?

Think is good ask Sphynx, rumble strips and two wheels on the track excursions are our friend!

Sean think i hit wrong icon and reported u when trying to hit reply, i PMed Sphynx about the mistake.

DAN :dunce:

Found a line up I can deal with ....... finally, and not one everyone else enjoys I suspect as it includes the stepvan.

57.862
53.905
56.476

I know these splits aren't great compared to the speed daemons out there, however I've reduced my overall time by better than 5" from my first attempt.

I'm running a Stepvan lineup, it works out pretty well if you get the timing right down for the frontstretch into turn one. I have just enough room to get to 2nd up the inside, and then past the leader 1/3 of the way thru turn 2. No one in this group is particularly fast. I managed a:

55.110
52.423
52.645
2:40.178

OK here are my first clean 7 laps

L1: 55.640
L4: 52.899 (bad one for me)
L6: 52.639 ( little bit of a box in the way)
Total: 2'41.178

driving this car is like jerking off with a cheese grater. mildly amusing at first but in the end, very painful.

no laps since the first day, just too horribly slow. i'd just be sitting around waiting for something to happen but it never did, even when the laps were "fast". hey, they can't all be winners now can they?

Wow it really is dead in here, I hope everyone is not off trying the cheese grater thing

I see what you mean Kell! There's not been a leaderboard update since the first day. :grumpy: Haven't had time to run this again myself, too much other stuff happening at the moment!

Even better than what I've been hoping for. Sweet :D

Unfortunately, my time this week is limited as I'm going south this weekend, so I don't know whether I'd be able to submit or not. So Screw the Astra, I'm doing this 👍

Sphinx, what about Tyrewear?

Did not notice this myself when posted. Gingiba is doing the scoreboard.👍

First laps this week:
L1 - 56.905
L4 - 52.610
L6 - 52.852

Can't figure out how I am so much slower on L1 than the other folks who are in the mid 52's for L4 and L6.

And Gingiba is on vacation, and wants to enjoy it :grumpy:

Sorry, but I was away from the PC for the past 3 days, and I will be again starting on monday, for 5 days... Leaderboard update coming up, once the sister takes the PC and returns it.

And that cheese-grater thing sounds sick... I find the comparison odd, since I really enjoy driving this car around this course. It may need an LSD, pronto, but it's fun to chuck around. Disclaimer: I do not enjoy jerking off with a cheese-grater.

just to be clear... it's a figure of speech. i never actually jerked off with a cheese grater. i didn't really have to explain that did i?

I'm not dead. :D

Well with the Mini link I had to give this one a shot. I'll be back in a bit with some times to post.

Good to hear!

Although, I don't think I'll be racing this week, no time... Gonna try to pick up a new car! w00! Project, for sure, but the body is soooo straight and rust free it does NOT matter. Wagon to boot!

And speaking of Minis, a girl at the Ducati/Aprillia/MV Agusta dealership accross the street from where I work just bought a 2000 Mini that's registered as a 73!!! It FREAKING HAS AN AIRBAG!? It has the sports pack or whatever it's called, with 13x7" Superlight Performance wheels, the big arches, a loud and SUPER DEEP exhaust... Holy **** I WANT TO DRIVE IT HARD! We flushed the coolant on it at work, and I got to drive it accross the street to park it a couple of times, but that's it... Now, if the girl didn't work accross the street, you better belive I'd have driven the piss out of it! I have a bunch of cell phone pictures too. Seriously, I love that car like no other. Holy crap. :scared::crazy::guilty::banghead::bowdown::cool:

:)

Care for some details? Volvo, I assume, but what model?

I'm looking at the possibility of getting one once I reach driving-age. We've got this cool wagon up our street, I have to call it awsome. 850 Wagon, completely black (including windows and rearlights), with polished rims and the best-sounding exhaust on our street (only beaten by that Evo near the mall, or the ricer Subaru at school).

I'm not dead. :D

I'll believe that when I see it ;)

Oh, and guys - the leaderboard got updated!

I'll get into it in the WRS rides section after I get it. About the 850 wagon, the volvo 5cyl(and newer inline 6s!) engines are easily some of the BEST sounding engines out there, I absolutely love their 5cylinder sound, much more than a subaru or evo sound actually once they've been opened up.

I don't know about opened up - Israeli rules are extremely tight when it comes to tuning, so Evos and Subies have a clear advantage, being factory-open. But this one managed to open it within the allowed limitations, but I didn't have the luck to hear it in the higher revs. Damn dead-end street... It's quite funny - we live on a very quiet road, one car wide, with 'ample parking - day and night', where no car even dares to pass 30KM/h. On the other side of the house, we've got a stretch of highway, which is just after a light - so street-races between bikes are a very common, umm, "hearing"?

Oh dear...Looks like I'm a bit out of practice, running mostly low 54's with the occasional high 53 so I'll leave the lap/split posting till I get something a little better.

Another project Kyle...Have you finished the others then? :sly:

I see a chance for me then :D

That being said, I'm a little rusty this week, too. Can't even pass the AI decently... Still stuck with lousy 54s again.

Dammit! I just had to throw away my second almost-perfect run. All laps were much below my goal time, including the first passing-lap (L5), until the darn Mazda Carol decided the racing-line isn't the best, and smashed into me while I was on the outside.

And another one! That Life-Style Van just shoved me off the road, without an apparent reason to move.

Right. Time to revenge at the AI, while chopping off a whole 5 seconds! You'll have to work harder now, Darren... Now after Kel's run.

55.753
52.475
53.008 (Wasn't too good, despite only encountering two cars as traffic. L5 was slower, but still less than a second off the quickest lap)

EDIT: Holy! Another 0.6 shaven off, now after that lap by "Steeds Of Diminutive Stature", as Fangio said :P

55.333 :D
52.917 👎
53.161 :(
With a cool finish down the mini-straight, drag-racing the Beetle to the finishline. Ended up not-lapping him...

I also had two spots that the only thing hairier than them is my own hair. To explain what a superlative that is, I didn't have a haircut of more than two-three centimetres for over 7 years now.
They turned out clean, with the only thing saving me being the natural understeer of Fwds. I steered right into the grass, but it kept going wide over the rumbles, saving my ass and my lap :D

Updates from today: Trying to cut off at least another second. I know I can... And just had to throw away a run with a first lap in the 54s! I've got a satisfying time already, but I need to shave off another two tenths, so I won't be behind a marker so easy to choose as a gold-barrier.

And again: Had to throw away a run with all laps bar L1 below 52.5 :ouch:

Reaching the limit here.

EDIT: A whopping 0.020 cut off the final time, but much-improved splits. And an a-m-a-z-i-n-g L2 :D

55.297
52.683
52.228 :D
Which puts me on 1st place at Luxy's - but I bet Smallhorses has a surprise up his sleeve. Goddamn 200-Points consistency...

Well I didn't improve much but I may as well post 'em seeing as I had to go to all the trouble of winning the Marcos in the first place.

Lap 1 56.999
Lap 4 53.577
Lap 6 54.466 :embarrassed:

seeing as I had to go to all the trouble of winning the Marcos in the first place.

Yep. The Ubersave, for some reason, doesn't include various cars in Arcade Mode, probably since they were bought from another save. This one, the Clio Cupcar, and the McLaren F1 are ones I had to win this week...

EDIT: Surprise-surprise, another winnable lineup was found! Z-ACT in 5th, 500 in front, Subaru 360, Honda LSV and Mazda Carol360 in the middle. Even got better times outta it:

55.427
52.374
52.147 (That's what you get when you have a clear field and the determination to finally beat that time - though it wasn't my quickest lap ;))
