Dirty Bugger! Hmm....I need to find .3 in T1 :ouch: and I think I know where the .2 is in T2 :nervous: Great splits Mike, I'll see what can be done tomorrow.

Jerome

New splits..

T1: 36.054
T2: 1'12.544

Didn't hit a single apex in that lap, haha... Really can't get to grips with the car at all, it's just so unpredictable.

The "badboy" is back

rusty as a nail in salt water, but we're finally moved in with a new dsl line freshly installed this a.m.

Greatings to sjaak, Mr.P and my ol' nemisis "Jake" up in Ct. Came through on the way back from Maine and remembered you when I approached that god awful corner with the reverse camber:nervous:

I suspect being away for almost five months will put me firmly at the bottom of the heap but hey, you all know how I feel about that eh? We'll just have to give 'er a go eh?

I noticed some new names and if you're in DivIII I'll be in your rearview mirror.......for a little while and when I blink my head lights be kind enough to move over.

Steve, again apologies. Please read your PM.

Gentlemen, start your engines! Can't wait to get back in there.👍

Edit: Almost forgot my ol' friend "DJ Baker"
I see you got bumped up to Div II.....I'll miss not chasing you around and comming in second every week:sly:

Edit: Lots of rust here, wow!!!:scared:

Don't have my DFP unpacked either so I'm "thumbing" it for awhile.

Steve, again apologies.
hi and welcome back, ron!
apologies are unneeded and unappropriate since (if i remember well) i was the one that faulted out of the dtm series in the first place mate!
your 1'20 t2 for tokyo is a joke, right? i do 1'15 after a few goes and that's rubbish, so maybe you should check your settings and compound?

👍 👍 👍

steven

Thanks to all for the welcome back. 👍

Steve, it's no joke mate. :scared: I've been fishing in Maine since late May. Sold our house in June and went back to Maine fishing again mid June. I have a grand total of maybe 2 hours on GT in the last five months.

Finally got the ps2 unpacked two nights ago and got back on line yesterday morning. Heck I'm having trouble passing a "B" lic. test right now. Us old dogs take a little time to re-acclamate.:ouch:

I've got 100+ 2x4's being delivered on Friday so I can finish the basement and then set up a driving station again. Til then it'll be hit or miss but at least I'm back at it. 👍👍

Welcome back badboy... :) Glad to hear you're finally getting settled!

I'm going to go do a few laps and get some splits up finally. Might not be as fast as my fastest lap, but they'll be clean... :grumpy: :P

EDIT: YES!!!!! 👍 I managed to get my fastest lap, CLEANLY! I'm glad I did this quikie morning session, oh yes...

T1: 35.226(can go lower, if my balls are big enough)
T2: 1'10.965

w000! That excites me. I guess I'll have to play tomorrow morning before work, too. Maybe it's because I'm not tired yet?

Ps. Hey Jerome, Brad, where you guys at? 💡 :sly:

Maybe it's just me, but I definitely would feel more comfortable with smaller balls on a tight track like this.

*Nods in agreement*

I'll try to come back to this one later 👍

I must've ran 50+ laps by now, and I still can't get that last corner right. I can get a perfect lap until that last corner :( Always throws me off..

Try taking it strip to strip and keep the car off the inside rumble strip where its raised and keep the car around 65mph when hitting the apex then you know you can floor it out of the turn and hit the strips on the right as you head in for the finish :) Its all about timing and the fact that we start the lap there when going slow doesn't help, I agree there.

Ran a few laps after supper. I'm starting to get the feel back but still not comfortable.

Don't worry, there are soooo many places that always throw me off... That's probably why it took me 3+ hours(or maybe not quite that much, dunno) to get one clean, fast lap...

Getting a feel for it:

Welcome back GT badboy, and welcome to all the new members. The more the merrier.

EDIT:
With a little more practice:

Holy crap! Someone's who's lapping this course slower than me. Welcome :) Done two sessions now and yet to even look like breaking 35 or 12.

Do you guys brake at all going into the lane? I find I have to brake on both left handers there before T1 or the Falken goes all pin-ball machine on me.

Looks like you guys are smokin, I got a ways to go :dopey: 1/2 way into a second session...

35.704
1'11.673

Ps. Hey Jerome, Brad, where you guys at? 💡 :sly:

I got a:
T1 - 34.995
T2 - 1'10.772

Although I'm using 310 gears, and everyone else seems to be using 320, I'll give that a go in a minute...

Why hello there sir... :) Yeah, I'm on 320 now as well, originally started on 310, but 320 has a better pull at the top end of the straight. Allows you to keep it in a lower gear for some corners where you sometimes don't want to shift depending on the balance of the car.

Now I just need to get that T1 down so I can get back around you... That's my main hairy section, the first right turn ish thing where you're going around 115-120+mph and trying to get by there flat out. Oh, an then I guess the double left before T1 as well, that's definitely a hair splitter sometimes.

Was about to update last night and my PC just died on me :ouch:

Anyway, managed to improve my time by .1 at the line but still not getting all the pieces right, it's bloody tough!

35.314

Saw a 34.9 /1'10.7 again but stuffed it as usual :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:
