Do you guys brake at all going into the lane? I find I have to brake on both left handers there before T1 or the Falken goes all pin-ball machine on me.
Yep... And the (relatively) soft suspension really lets the car wobble about all over the place when you do that, too.. Obviously I'm not being gentle enough with it ;)

Another session and somewhat better times

35.323
1:11.760

The one that's giving me trouble is the 180 before T2 - from one lap to the next I can make or lose five car lengths as a result of microscopic differences in line - and I think that has to be where the difference is between where I am now and the really quick times.

Time to get on board ...

35.418
1:12.078

Stop giggling ... stop it ... sigh ....

Running cars and watching baseball

37.195
1'14.496

I'm seeing much quicker splits but, like some of you, I end up stuffing one of the last two turns. :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

Seen sum good splits but struggling to piece them together:yuck:

Latest splits done on DS2
.34.909 (.811)
1.10.669 (.574)

Lost a bit on the final leftie but whats dones done

Although i love my dfp its just not fast enough this week:crazy:

35.712
1'12.450

Not my best times but it's so tough for me to get that last corner clean... Kinda rusty, haven't participated since week 50 :D

Hi everyone!

Was some time since I was last here... I have had a lot to do, studying and working part-time don't give much time over...:indiff: Next time I'll be gone, I'll try to say it here in advance... Anyway, gave this a go today:

T1: 35.276
T2: 1'11.499:grumpy:

Using DFP even though DS2 seems faster... Will try again tomorrow. There's certainly time to take here.

It's certainly nice to see some old faces back in here!

Seems I have some work cut out for me... I hope to get back to this before I need to shower and leave for work in a few hours. See if I can come up with anything...

I was getting really upset with myself, then it dawned on me, 💡

I was just a solid Div III driver when I left 5 months ago running 4'' behind the BigBoys. I guess I haven't lost that much after all eh?

Still a long way to go to catch my ol' friend "DJ" however. :grumpy:

sorry for the poor effort & performance but i haven't had the time to improve after my first try. tomorrow morning we're heading for our little cot in france for the autumn holly week - just me and the missus - so no more gt4 uptime for me. time submitted. see you all next week for 129/130.

Here's another! Was going to have a crack at this earlier, but spent the last 3 days down in LA. :grumpy:

After a first session:

T1 35.452
T2 1'11.220

Plenty to lose, have seen 35.2xx at T1 before stuffing up. :(

I keep shaving tenths and then bouncing off a wall. :ill: Too much fun! With a DFP.

0'37.228
1'14.736

Lots of room to improve...

First attempt on this one.

T1 - 35.644
T2 - 1'12.102

Second session tonight, hoping to knock off 0.5 :)

After too many sessions, I finally found an insignificant improvement. :dopey:

35.159
1'11.188

Ok, last session for me
34.929
1'10.597

one very close call, that I'll take my chances on I think... ran it through photo mode and don't see any contact, but in normal replay it looks a bit iffy.

Think I'll deliberate on it a bit more before submitting as I have a totally clean run only .1 slower.

Coming from one of the worst drivers here, going off of times.....

T1: 0'37.525
T2: 1'14.742

Had one VERY close call :scared:, but checked in photomode replay with full display on, and the little white ball didn't even flinch, so I'm calling it clean :dopey:

I might actually have to retry my qualifier or petition for a promotion if I can get consistant with submitting races...

T1: 0'35.475
T2: 1'11.492
Top Speed: 330

Hate to upseat the John MacEnroe of GT4 but im also a Div III driver. Ill be sure to wave every now and then.

How many people are taking that solid right hander flat out. After the double left and running up the hill I simply must let off. I cant find the turn in point to get it flat out.

Im braking for the double left past that however what ive noticed is between the solid white lines I can tap brakes a sec and hold the turn all the way thru and just get the car to slide into the relief in the right side of the track.

That last corner is a mother though. I usually break at the 50m marker, hopefully drop two gears to 3rd and turn in just before I let off the brakes and hammer thru.

Hey All -

Just got back from a trip and decided to give this one a run tonight. Splits from my sub after a one hour session -

37.026
1:14.468

Good Luck to all who ran.

Kevin

Shaved a little off.
Quite frustrated that I can't break into the 1'10.xxx T2 time arena, and my laptime is around 0.7s behind where I'd like it to be. :grumpy:

T1 35.248
T2 1'11.019

Don't be frustrated. It's a decent feat. Kelly's just a bit off her rocker at this course I guess. Either that and/or she's just spending a good amount of time on this combo...

I swear though, she's D1 material, at least as much as I am anyway. 👍

I sadly didn't have any time to get back to this and get myself down closer to where she is, so my current splits are for the time that I'm going to submit right now.

Good luck to anyone still running!

EDIT: Just looked at the leaderboard, seems Clemi-uk's up there too, eh?

Personally, I think I belong in Div IV :scared:

Only problem is that I don't have a Max or Shark Port. The best I'd be able to provide is the raw file from the memory card (which, for some reason, isn't accepted :dunce: )

It's not accepted, because you can't extract a raw memory card file onto your PC to submit, without having a Sharkport or MAX Drive, which convert the raw file to .sps/.xps or .max format automatically!

The only way to submit a raw mem-card file is to physically deliver or post your card to the race steward, or another member close by to you that can make a submittable replay file for you.

If you're talking about video capturing the GT4 replay onto your PC and submitting that, then they're not considered valid since you can easily edit a video file. People have tried this in the past, and been banned from GTPlanet as a result!

Actually, you can get the raw with a standard PS2 gameshark and a USB memory stick. Unfortunately, I don't know of any other WRS racers in the Bloomington-Normal, Illinois (USA) area :yuck: And I'm not looking to get myself banned by any stretch of the imagination :scared:
