I can now honestly say I love Jake like a brother, but I just finished his bottle of Gentleman's Jack. Please keep it a secret.

Yes, Jake is quite a guy. Got a pictire of that red thing he built before I went AWOL. He even offered to sell it to me. Hmmmm guess I missed out. :grumpy:

Gentleman Jack eh? I guess we'll have to talk about bourbon some day and I'll introduce you to the real deal......"Woodford Reserve" or "Basil Hayden's" :sly:

FYI: yep I'm in West By God Va. but, grew up in the North End of Htfd. Must say you "nutmeg boys are doing OK!" 👍👍

Hey gtbadboy, you are within driving distance, so maybe we can hook up a LAN session and see if Jake's set-ups work for real, or else just have a conference on bourbon. I am more than happy with either, as I get to enjoy both without reservation!! BTW I am serious about hooking up a session!

plod ... plod ... plod

31.562
1:10.532

Buggered up T1 by going wide at the chicane and had been hitting 31.0x on good runs. Still this is heading in the right direction.

31.191
1:09.833
this is probably not submittable though - I think there is a wall touch just after T1 - I didn't feel it when driving, but it is VERY,VERY close in the Photo Mode.
Had 1:09.0xx so expecting some more to come.
Lowest T1 is 30.9x.

Every time I get a good t1 I blow up the hill :ouch: best of 30.31, anyway

30.607
1'08.033

Hopefully I can clean it up a little and get into some consistant 1'07.xxx's

Great time, Erik 👍

I'm now at:

30.556
1'08.469

but lost most of it again in the last section.

Also lost my patience with the combo, so it'll probably be the last splits from me this week.

Good luck to the rest of you. 👍

New splits:

T1: 30.936
T2: 1'08.890

Can get more off of the first sector for sure, but keeping it as fast as that for the rest of the lap will take quite a bit of luck :)

This is also the first week that's had me shouting at the car for being so awful, haha... Why is it in the back?? WHY!?

Thanks Niels :) maybe you run it again later in the week 👍

I'm getting there, this lap has some good and bad in it, messed up the sweeper after the tunnel, but the last sector is pretty good.

30.195
1'07.801

Getting close to my limit I think.

I'm with Niels on this one. losing my patients with this combo. Can't begin to figure out how you are all getting so low in T1 and T2:dunce::dunce::dunce:

Last sector is my best and without much improvment in the other two have knocked off plenty of time overall........I may be done with it:grumpy:

I'm with you, after an hour long battle, I conceded cause its not for me and not worth my time. GL guys, I may see what next week has in store

Jerome

How dare you put this WRS on while I'm stll at maximum stress overload in the run up to 'The Ocho'!

I'm going to run this after next week to test my mettle. Maybe I should try one run now, and then one run after 16 hrs of non-stop GT4 (except for food, bowling, beer and sleep)?

EDIT: Long 31s at the first split.

Then I gave up.

But only to try it on RM/RH then N3s all around... then a maxed Yellowbird on R-softs - much more fun! Super bouncy, super pendulumly, super drifty!

Then I tried a BTR stock (0%/0%) on RHs all around. Yummy.

I love RUFs.

No more time for this, but now I have a track where I can practice when I don't feel like taking my GT Mode maxed non-winged BTR to the 'ring. :)

Hi guys,

This is my first try at this so no laughing, eh? :)
I don't have much to compare it to, but I had a lot of fun running around this track. I only hope I'm running it in the right direction(normal, right?)!
Anyway, my splits are:

T1: 33.012
T2: 1.13.196

I know that I can do this faster, I just wanted to get in the conversation!
Thanks for setting up such a cool way to get more enjoyment out of a game that I already enjoy so much, I look forward to being part of the club.

Thanks,

Bryan

Welcome aboard Bryan 👍

Earlier today I managed a magic carpet ride over the hill and got a 1'07.225, unfortunatly I over shot the next left went screwy luwy :dopey:

Running more right now...

hi to all the new guys since i have started
my 1st race was last week w/ the jag

this weeks race is challenging :scared:
tonites times

T1 31.065
T2 1'09.769

:mischievous:

Hmmmm ... I was wondering what that ((brake)) light was on all the time ... fixed now ...

30.925
1:08.737

Snoddy ... check your mirrors. Buggered up the finish mind you and damn near hit the wall on that right hand sweeper but at least it's clean so I can post and pretend I'm competitive until the finals are out :-)

Holy smokesses arora! That's a helluva Div.2 pace you're setting there! :scared:
Had a couple of hours to tinker with this, but I think that's all I'll get chance for, as there's still tonnes of stuff to get ready for SFGTP2 at the weekend.

Best splits so far:

T1 30.231
T2 1'07.869

Although I suspect it may be dirty, very difficult to tell if I get 3 wheels off in the sand in the right/left flick before T1. Can't seem to stop it in a position where I can confirm it, some views look clean, some don't. :grumpy: Damned PD and their lack of rewind/slo-mo functions!!!

Will have to run some more! ;) 👍

down to
30.701
1:09.424
Sadly I didn't pick up as much time at the end as these splits suggest - still the times are going in the right direction.

Who set the spring rate on that car????
on the hill, it bounces on every part of the frame but the wheels!

great satisfaction in passing the first bend after the start @ 258km/h clean
huge satisfaction in drifting the bend before the bridge in full throttle 3-4th gear... clean

but

t1 0.32.023
t2 1.10.864

ruf dancing twist on the hill.... and moairookie in D2 with thumbcramps :scared:
hate it!

By the way, using DS2

Good going Kenny, keep at it. I am going nowhere fast with this one. :ouch: I'll try it again Friday... 👍

Not too quick so far, but after a short session I have
31.346
1:09.413 (1:08.4xx)

This is certainly challenging to find the knife edge between understeer and spin-out - but when you get it right it is sweet.

A question on what is track (have you noticed that I seem to ask this every time we're at El Capitan?) - is the concrete beyond the curbs before T1 part of the track?

I don't even know what you're talking about...? I'll go look and edit in.

EDIT: Yeah... I don't see any concrete beyond any curbs... Just sand. Perhaps take a picture of where you're thinking?

Bill, just 2 wheels on the curbs for that sector.👍

btw... I noticed I'm showing up on the leaderboard as DS2. I actually use a G25 wheel but if you don't have an option for that just put DFP. Personally I have no idea how you guys do it with those little thumb-sticks ... takes me back to my Defender playing days, but even then all the controls were pure binary (on/off).

I had another session, my first serious laps. Though I haven't got a clean lap, I hit consistantly 30.1 at t1. At t2, if I manage all the corners as well as I can, I get a flat 1'07. Now the hard part is putting it together :scared:

I don't brake at the hill nor at the following left-hander, seems like lifting is enough. Are the top guys doing like me?

At least I'm not scared anymore about my second lap 1'09 :dopey:

Can't stand the sticks myself, it's all about the D-pad for me :D Surely I'm not the only one using the D-pad??

Also going to get a PS2 for a friend tomorrow, expect him to be around here shortly, hehe...
