considering the huge turnup i suggest we should visit yellowstone more often, say once a wrs month? :sly:

T1 .30.480:grumpy:
T2 1.07.991

Found sumthing for T1 though. Just managed 3 consecutive T1 splits of .30.0xx:dopey: but this damn car keeps flying off the road in the middle sector. Will sort her out 2morrow.

Latr

Splits form my session today:

T1: 30.147
T2: 1'07.563

Screwed up the long left corner after the tricky section just before the downhill... will try yo fix that tomorrow. Must say once again I love this combo! It feels so nice when you feel the weight of the car change in the corners!👍

Had some free time today so I have had a go.
Done about 15 laps so far.
All I can say is I like the cars hadling except the terrible understeer which just happens when you least expect it.

Anyway splits
T1: 30.822
T2: 1'08.455

I've seen much better splits but keeping it clean is so imposible to do. Just luck if you get a good lap with this combo.

Uh........ wrong :P it's practice and skill I'd think
Well, that's a part of it, but luck is certainly QUITE a factor at this track with this car and these settings. Most certainly. I've put hours into it, and all I'm seeing is more and more time in EVERY corner that I can't put into one lap. It's quite annoying and frustrating. T times don't mean much this week, you can have a blister of a T1 and still not come up with something nice, or a bad T1 and come up with a blister of a T2. And then there's always the third sector, where one can think they're going fast already, but later blow the doors off their ghost and finish 5/10ths faster.

For example, I have a dirty lap that has a T2 of about 1'07.2 with a finish that is a half a second faster than a lap where I do a 1'06.9... I feel that if I was able to do the impossible(and it quite literally is humanly impossible), I could do lower than a 1'06.5 T2 and finish almost a second faster than my fastest dirty lap. Sure, that's normal, but I've put HOURS into this combo now. And I haven't gained anything really since my splits on the board, ok, maybe 4 tenths, but there's still soo much more to get.

There's multiple ways to be fast in each sector. Blah.

But I'm on cold medication with a headache, runny nose, and coughing every minute. So maybe I'd be more consistent if I weren't sick, but I'm not convinced.

Looking good Jake.

Now here's the thing, someone make sure that what I know to be on is still considered on. Because if this is indeed on, as it should be, this one of my fastest two runs is clean. Back in a bit with the picture, having comp. troubles...

Did another quick 10 laps with an improvement

T1 30.464
T2 1'08.162

I can see so much extra time available but its so hard to do it.

So hard to get each corner right.
Especially the bumps over the hill just after the tunnel. That part can change your T2 time by heaps. Not to mention that flying corner up the hill straight after these bumps.

Well, I just fried my roommate's USB drive... That had important information on it... I don't know if he has it backed up or not, but I was able to get the stuff off of it, hopefully all of it, and everything works ok. If I leave the drive connected to the computer for more than a minute it gets SUPER hot and freezes up. So, I tossed it in the freezer, and then plugged it back in with an "Otter pop" up against it to keep it cool while I retrieved the information. :nervous::ouch:

And this picture, of the part that determines if I can finally be done with this or not. Sadly, this lap was done over three hours of playing time ago, and I never thought to check it closer as I thought it had another off spot. :ouch::ouch:

It's close right there, and then also exiting that strip, but it's good to go. Remember, it is a rumble strip, just a different color... Car still has traction, and it's still a strip before going into the sand, so what else could it be...?

In any case, here are some slower final lap time splits that I'm going to submit if I don't get this confirmed, or take the time to race more... :ouch:

30.121/1'07.020

I'm not sure what the rule is on that, but it is not a rumble of a different color, it is a cobble stone area, rumbles are raised and bumpy. In any event your splits have been steler so far 👍

I'm still on the case, I've not had many good ones but they come and go, best t2 is still a 1'07.2 but i cannot seem to finish the lap, I had a ghost beat me from a 1'07.8, dup.

Still trying 👍

This week passed by so fast that I barely had time to play. Fortunately I like the track and learned quickly how to do this race and luckily it didn't take much time to get a nice lap.

0'30.119 (29.9)
1'07.077 (may have lost a bit at the hairpin, braked too late)
Good last sector, but possibly some time lost at the left-hander after t2.

Though there is at least half a second to be gained, I don't think I'll make it, as it's so hard to get everything right at El Capitan. Submitting...

I like the car and I love the track - but the fact that I can rarely put two clean laps together is taking the fun out of it. It seems all I do is reset and run a few corners :ouch:

Anyway... improved a bit
30.605
1:08.075

If I can get in the 1:07's I can quit (well since this is the last night I guess I'll have to quit anyhow ). I've gotten T1's down in the 30.2's which you'd think would let me book a 1:07.6; but easier said than done.

great going carlos! now all you gotta beat is kyle time 👍 -.057 which must be doable
Ahh, but T times don't mean much this week... That being said, with the speed that he got down to that, I wonder how well he did his final sector. All I know is that I'm not satisfied with my current splits, but I am satisfied with the lap that I have pictured above... Just need some confirmation before I submit it and have someone tell me no!
but easier said than done.
Moooooost certainly! :yuck: 👍

Making some last effort right now... Just for the record, I just set a T1 of 29.886... I just need to hold it together  screwed that lap in the downhill section. Have seen a split of 1'07.2xx, just need to make a clean lap...:scared:

My last sector is quite good, a bit cautious but not much time lost. However, since it's the part of the track that I ran the less (due to restarts with unsatisfying t2's), it's possible that I haven't found something. Let's hope not:sly:

If you don't improve your splits, there might be an interesting finish 👍

About that picture, I think it's clean. There are 2 wheels on the strip.

Well, I hate to say it, but chances are, you are missing something in the finish... :sly: Either way, the finish is most certainly going to be interesting, for everyone! :scared:

And about that picture, although I totally agree, and I've always considered it track, some people have mentioned otherwise, so I've been cracking away at it again today for the past hour and a half... And, I finally nailed the finish to my liking on a T2 that's not toooo bad. It's actually about .020 faster than the pictured lap(.030 off of fastest dirty), and that's going to be good 'nuff for me! Even though the T2 is over 2 tenths off of my fastest. :yuck: Only seen a few 29.9xxs for T1, but I don't mind, that last tenth of a second can sooooo easily be made or lost on so many other parts of the track it doesn't matter.

SO! I'm finally submitting, what a relief.

Submitted splits:
T1: 30.055
T2: 1'07.150
T3: about 6 tenths faster than my original posted splits'(1'07.101?) lap.

Good luck to everyone who's still running, and man, I can't wait to see the results! What a freaking rush... 👍👍👍👍👍👍

for my final run i told myself
either a 30.x or 1'09.x
that would be good 👍
never saw 30 since early in the week
still haven't :yuck:
got the 09 which is still no real improvement :grumpy:
though the final i'm pleased w/ :mischievous:
so i'm dun
time submitted :D

Another 10 laps with a bit faster splits for me. Took this one slow and stead and actually became faster which is unusual. Then again I did find some better lines.

30.398
1'07.956

So annoying, I've seen heaps faster time at T1 low 30.0XX and T2 such as 1'07.5xx. Keeping it clean is a pain at this track.

Don't worry about it, the last sector carries a lot of weight in it too. And keeping it clean at this track isn't too bad usually with more tame car combinations, this one's definitely pushing the street tired/no downforce limits.

What happened to Sjaak this week? It'd be nice to get a final word on that cobblestone rumble area, even though I didn't end up using that lap. I guess we'll find out soon enough I bet though. :) Can't wait to see the results! Ahh dangit, I just they're going to be posted while I'm at work...

And when he wasn't drinking, he was smokin'! (And occasionally, he stepped out for a cigarette too.)

I found the El Capitan race at The Ocho quite straightforward after having thrash these beasts around for a while. However, I still didn't quite manage to get the BMW M3 hooked up for a really quick time. Mucho practice required!
