second try:

T1: 29.168
T2: 1'08.065

it would have been faster if i would've had more speed on the strait.
The ending of the previous lap wasn't really good.

hey gtbadboy
chukabilly use to work for the same
boss that i have so he'll understand this :yuck:
i was tired of waiting for the boss, :grumpy:
so came home to race, beside other things :)

Canaan must be a hotbed of GT4 activity with such understanding boss'. I hope Jake isn't the boss??:nervous:

If I were still in Hftd I'd have to ride down and invade the S.M.A.R.T. team:scared:

I've been bitten by the GT4 bug again.

The MINI is quite a handful, but after the cars I've driven this weekend, its quite nice to drive! It drives like its got the hard tyres on the front, but I have checked and they're not...

T1 - 29.223
T2 - 1'08.432

Div 2 & G25 for the leaderboard updatery people...

EDIT:

Update

T1 - 29.042
T2 - 1'08.216

I'm also in for a spin again.

Great combo, Sjaak 👍 Some understeer, some oversteer, but thanks to the tyre choice mostly a well-balanced ride. If you drive smooth, that is :P

Splits:

28.362
1'06.905

DFP (as long as my nearly died pedals allow... :nervous:)

this is 01gtp @ chuk's
i'm on jake's setup w/ no racing shoes ( slippers )
T1 29.121
T2 108.982
is it the shoes or the setup:rolleyes:
no tcs

I wonder if I would get into trouble from Jordan if I gave Hugo a temporary, week long, ban? :mischievous:

Oh! Did I say that out loud? :dopey:

Did I tell you I've got the remembrance of an elephant?? :P

this is chuk @ chuk's racing on chuk's set-up (which Jake made)
Hugo, can't you at least give us a day or two to enjoy our mediocrity? I mean, jeez, i wonder if it's the oversteer or understeer that's slowing you down? Maybe someday.

so.............smooth is the key

I tried my best, though not smooth enough yet.

29.059
1'08.392

Still testing if in gear two and rapidly back to three is faster as staying in three for the tight corners.

in most of the corners the revs are to low to keep it in 3rd,
i think it's faster to just quickly shift to 3rd gear if you feel the tires lose grip when the revs and power in 2nd are getting (to) high.
But i noticed that after the second hairpin the back tires lose grip on top of the small hill.

I've been trying both, too, and have come to the point that it's mostly a push. If the revs sound low, I'll shift. If I've got momentum and rpm's, I won't. Both ways have been useful. I'd say the smooth matters as much as the shift.

well said. that peculiarity is what made me think to really look at the shifting as a time getting device.

I find it easier to stay in 3rd for all the slow corners. Dropping down to 2nd has given me too much wheelspin. I think 2nd would be quicker if you can judge it just right, but its proving to be too tricky for me so far.

LOL! This is Jake @ club quarters on NO setup! I leave you guys to your own devices and you see what happens?! 👍👍 Glad you are both having fun, I just have one more day here in DC so I'll be back to chase down those splits... :scared:

I'm using 2nd gear in all the slow corners. If you can manage to gently increase throttle coming out of the corner, you'll rapidly see your ghost disappear out of your rear mirror...

Easier said than done though, I know :dopey:

Jake!!! Kenny and I have been waiting, but we know that the World needs you in D.C.. It's great to be racing again. Only two weeks, and it seems like I've almost never driven. It also looks like a couple of old ghosts have re-appeared!! (Welcome Hugo! Welcome Daan! [though I know y'alls' racing better than I know y'all]) I guess I might as well brew some coffee.

now if cmir, kyle and strop would be so kind as to post t's according to their expected division quality we will have a proper luxy setup this week :dopey:

I usually start my first session slowly and improve gradually after that. Expect me to close the gap to the top guys. :sly:

Next: no TCS, since I only did 2 laps or so without it and obviously I need more time to get the feel of the throttle control.

I've found the same thing, Hugo, hence my earlier complaint about crowd noise, only to have my wife point out that since I haven't shaved in two years, the hair in my ears distorts the sound, not the game. Still, the passion of hearing the motor transfer power to the tires is too intense to surrender, so I guess I have no choice. I must play it LOUDER!!!💡

Ran 3 laps last night and set it down, just tried about 5 more, getting the hang of it a little, it's an unpredictable little bugger. 2nd gear in a few spots and I just let em spin and shifted to 3rd...

looks like the game is on, guys 👍

Bit early in the week for me ... and I couldn't run Sunday coz I was busy SFGTP'ing. It's bad enough worrying about these Div2 quickies without having to fend off Div3'ers at the same time. Think of me like the ugly duckling ... I start off all ugly and slow and end up a beautiful swan with feathers splatted all over the road by the likes of Clemi and Arora.

Quite right!! Of course, with my times, that makes me the excrement of the beautiful swan splattered by the likes, but at least I'm the excrement of something beautiful!! Or maybe I'm just a feather, which means that I'm pissed that something just **** all over me!!!:grumpy:

 You guys are hilarious! Glad to have y'all racing with us... :)

Yep! Good to see ya man!
2nd gear in a few spots and I just let em spin
Try using *just* enough throttle to keep them from spinning wildly(very minor spin is good, none is second best) and you'll pick up some speed. Having the car and steering wheels pointing as straight ahead as possible allows you to put much more power down. So, do what you can to exit corners in as straight a line as possible. The earlier you can lay down the power, the faster you'll be!

And Steven, I'll get right on that in a couple hours... 👍

Not understanding T1 at ALL...28.7 is all I can manage, usually .8 or .9. With a T1 of 28.7 I did manage a 1:07.6....hhmm....not really enjoying this one as much as I thought I would :indiff: See ya all next week prolly. Guitar Hero III came out and I gotta play it too :sly: I'm half way done with hard so far 👍 Laters!

Jerome

Corner cutting, throttle lifting and momentum is key in T1. :)

I'm starting to play right now, will edit splits in here if no one posts before I'm done...

Are you at least going to submit this time Jerome?

Did 5ish more laps, but I feel like watching a movie...

T1: 28.660
T2: 1'07.772

More to come with my next stint, sometime over the next few days.
