the board

my first 3 lap splits:
23.589-46.682-1.09.408
23.334-46.337-1.09.996
23.448-46.334-1.09.207
lousy but clean!

Well, here's my first run. I don't know if I'll be able to improve them or not as this week is busy.

T1= 22.601 T2= 44.272 T3= 1'06.659
T1= 22.731 T2= 44.512 T3= 1'06.882
T1= 22.440 T2= 44.232 T3= 1'06.643

I love the combo, Sjaak!!👍👍👍

22.800 44.786 1:07.666
22.935 44.655 1:07.438
23.068 45.017 1:08.388

Starting to find the fast lines, should be able to improve on this.

Find that driving line and practice it until you can see it in your sleep, then push push push the limit! You'll improve greatly Craig with as many hours as you spend on the game, the only factor left to fill is just time 👍

So true. So true. As one who preaches it, I do try and practice it: Seat time is what counts. Whether you are feeling it or not, just race on. The time will come. Go Craig go!!! 👍

I'm running 240 at the moment. The most recent discovery was at the last turn before the hill climb to the esses in T3 I was changing down twice to third. I found that leaving it in fourth gets me at least half a second better by the top of the hill.

I'm still not too sure about that sweeping left in T2. I find I have to brake very gingerly or I skid wide and lose time fast, it seems like going through there tight to the inside kerb is the best approach but I have to slow down considerably to do that.

T3 seems to be where I'm losing the most relative to others and I'm not sure where. Possibly that same corner I mentioned, since I don't seem to be able to hit the apex, it comes up blind and I'm having trouble judging where to turn in.

The great thing about this car is it allows you to experiment freely and not lose much traction if any. The left after T2 can be take at about 92 MPH MAX so try braking just enough to bring it to about 90 and keep it in 4th if I recall correctly, then floor it and watch your ghost scream in agony :) For the corkscrew, try entering next to the rumbles on the right and don't be afraid to dump it into 3rd and try making the car's right wheels drive just over the right side of the inside rumble strip at the apex. Then you should be able to floor it and with staying in 3rd be able to have enough torque to manage the change in elevation. The following left take an inside line and similar to the apex for the corkscrew point the car so that your left tires are to the right of the rumble strip and you should be able to floor it on exit. HTH dude.

Hey Guys -

Just ran another quick session tonight. Loving this combo! 👍

New Splits -

22.625 44.225 1:06.554
23.096 45.088 1:07.343
22.910 44.919 1:07.369

Hitting splits seen on the second two laps with consistency. Hit the hairpin just right on the first lap for a great T1. If I can perfect that, I think I'll be in business! :)

Good Luck!

Later
Kevin

Second session for today ... some improvement.

22.850 44.352 1:06.703
22.968 44.941 1:07.810
22.753 44.297 1:06.705

Noticed a bug in GT4 that you can only save your ghost once. After that it keeps trying to save the previous ghost, even when the lap record is lower. Annoying to say the least because I end up chasing a slow ghost unless I exit out and start again.

I remember when we used this car the first time around. Does that make me old?

Hopefully I can get a time in tomorrow 👍

Great combo sjaaak!

i can hit a 22.2xx t1 and a 43.5xx t2 relatively easy but tend to brake too early or too much for the screw leaving me with a 1.05.6xx but have seen a few 1.05.2xx's. its killing me to get 2 good laps in only to stuff up the 3rd

:cheers:tried 220 but could not improve
i think on thursday pm i'll try others but these times are w/ 240
22.648 44.362 106.568
23.083 44.639 107.217
22.970 44.502 107.308
108.701 213.503 321.093

EDK thanks for checking replay and Strop for the bug
i was wondering why i couldn't save that 🤬 ghost 👎
Casio being born in 1964 makes you old, like me
are you old enough to drink legally
in the states you are not
as chuk would say
race on :)
ps i think my tires were starting to wear out by lap 3 ha ha

retried for an hour but seem to be too inconsistant for 3 consecutive clean & reasonable laps. getting better tho ...

23.064-45.897-1.09.572
23.371-45.877-1.08.868
23.611-46.883-1.09.479

gearing 270 'cos in auto it changes gear just too often when set at 220 and the torque is apparently high enough. any other auto drivers?

Q for sjaak: my replay says 299hp; is that normal? or should i buy a new one in gt mode 'cos its worn a bit? :)

108.701 213.503 321.093
to you and all other wrs guys: there really is no need to post the totals for each T as good old luxy does that for us every time & this might save you lot a bunch of punching.

the board (EDIT update thru post 53) is building up pretty neat now ... hopefully the steward will not program multilappers too often 'cos it's a bit of extra work ...

o.k.. Finally got some times to post AND the computer working at the same time!
Lap 1 T1= 22.601 T2= 44.272 T3= 1'06.659
Lap 2 T1= 22.731 T2= 44.512 T3= 1'06.882
Lap 3 T1= 22.440 T2= 44.232 T3= 1'06.643

Not fast, I know, but at least they're clean and on the board. Hopefully I can find a few hours this week-end to fix them, but this is probably my submission time. Less than 24 hours until we close on the restaurant, and my wife already has a few hundred dollars in champagne cooling in the fridge. There's a distinct possibility I won't be sober again until week 134!!! The things we do for love!

By the way, I've been running a 210 gear. The taller ones leave me wanting more acceleration, and I'm not coordinated enough to pull a lot of momentum through the corners. Race on!!!

Also want to say thanx to bigracer and the others for the luxy. I appreciate the work you guys do so that we can race and see how we're doing against each other. Nice job!👍👍

That makes us both old Brad :ouch: lol

watzat? guess it's my non-native tongue but what are you doing with a restaurant? i'm a chef so naturally curious for stuff like that.

you're very welcome, says only one of the many leaderboard updaterers :sly: it's always nice to contribute to this sweet community 👍 👍 👍 if only to compensate for not doing other churns like replay checking etc.

welcome back brad!!! how is it hanging down under?
btw about the age thing: ron (gtbadboy) and me are the oldest of the lot by far so no worries about aging yet.

there's people here who has wings on the wheels.... this is my third week, and i begin having some doubts about my performance.....
just like having a first date every week!!! My mind is too focused on the performance............. :)

about 2 secs per lap at T3 to be recovered..... i 'm not gonna get it....

edit - just some free thoughts after reading luxy...

I'm content that I've figured out the fast line but it's so easy to miss the turn-in / braking point by a foot and lose a tenth or two in one corner.

Placing my order for a new DFP this morning as the current one is definitely dying - enough frustration when the brake or throttle get a mind of their own; I finally quit last night when I could only get about 90% throttle.

Still, some decent improvements (if not too consistent)

22.795 44.302 1:06.700
22.419 44.028 1:06.134
22.681 44.496 1:06.700

Can manage 1:06.0's - hopefully the new wheel will help in breaking into the 1:05's (remember, it's always the equipment's fault )

Open up the pedals and make sure the pots are fixed in place.
I have some thin cardboard to keep the 2 pots away from each other.
The cardboard will shift slowly, so you'll have to open it up again every 2 months or so, but it works.

22.613 / 44.479 / 1'06.991
22.402 / 44.211 / 1'06.362
22.408 / 44.227 / 1'06.445

First attempt at this one. great car, great track!

The reason some of you are having trouble with the ghost save is because you are crossing the double white line at the begining of the lap, no need to do that.

gave this a few laps to see and thought 'the car is stuck in the mud' so I tried it with 300 topey and realed off a few 1'05.8xx. Not sure how much time I'll put into this one.

Interesting about the lines, that's a great split with 300, I am trying 230. trying 300 now. 👍

edit: found a 1'05.7 with 300... nice.

Which double white line .... all I do is wait for the start, drive badly for about three laps, and then post something for Div III to shoot down. I don't recall crossing any lines ... ? And if there are white lines, how do you not cross them ... do you go around them on the grass or something?

Put more succinctly, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, please explain :)

After the start/finish line there is a set of white lines running parallel to the track that keep you from the pit area, to the left as you go down the hill.

With 230 gearing ive dipped my bumper into the 1.05.0s twice with one being a .056 i then tried the more conventional 220 gears and found more consistency but struggling to keep up with that .056 ghost! Had this been a hot lap week id be in bussines:lol:

watzat? guess it's my non-native tongue but what are you doing with a restaurant? i'm a chef so naturally curious for stuff like that..

I'm no chef but, let us just say a classically trained "cook." :) When do we eat?? :sly:

btw about the age thing: ron (gtbadboy) and me are the oldest of the lot by far so no worries about aging yet.

Yes I'm sure I'm the oldest but very young at heart eh? Most of you are young enough to be my sons and I'd be lucky to have you as such. :) Having said that I wish you'd all slow down a bit so I could keep up!!

Found my DFP: I fear it didn't do so well on the move. The darn break pedal seems to be doing its own thing. my foot is'nt on the pedal and there's a hint of red telling me that I'm breaking. Feels like I'm dragging a one ton weight behind the car. Not sure what to buy as I've just gotten a PS3. Any suggestions about a wheel??:dunce:

Running 230 gearing I managed so far:

22.194 / 43.271 / 1'04.881
22.242 / 43.448 / 1'05.342
22.231 / 43.351 / 1'04.990

More to come later :)👍

hey gtbadboy about the pedals
try unplugging usb connection 1st
then try opening it up as mentioned in posts this week
another question about wrs rules
i see on replays that the replay starts before the time starts
would it be cheating ( despite gains or not ) to get off track
( no pavement ) before the timer starts?
and back to the double white lines
does the game not include those laps because the game classifies it as dirty?
thursday pm tried different gearing but no improvements
it may be that different gears work differently for different abilities
then again there's Hugo Boss WOW
i dont see chukabilly on the leaderboard
are there others too maybe

I've opened it up in the past and fixed it a few times but it is rapidly deteriorating. The wheel is just about two years old and has countless hours on it. So much so that the pedals are now polished to a high gloss - no evidence of the original finish remains.

UPS is telling me the new wheel will be here today (ordered it yesterday, I find it doesn't pay to spend extra for next day shipping) so hopefully tonight I can post some improvements.
