it has taken me some 40 laps to pass the nissan ghost, either it was a very hot lap or i'm not driving well tonite
honda 1st
<lap t1="26806" t2="60966"/>
<lap t1="26647" t2="60873"/></driver>
honda w/300
nissan w/330?
then again maybe it the gearing, i will have to experiment w/ those
i enjoy racing the nissan more, the nsx is fast but i have problems w/ the braking, and have been sliding too much

Xalelexx, I beleive that would be about the final time because that is all we pm to sjaak for results
i'm new also and would like to see you and 006r racing as much as possible
good luck and always ask because this is a bunch of great people to interact with

Honda is listed first here. I raced the Nissan first and then chased it's ghost until I beat it with the Honda. My suspicion is that the Nissan is faster since the Honda needed a lot more braking distance and understeers pretty badly on throttle. Since I'm not too familiar with the track though an extra session helped a lot.

Moaibob.... is it possible you bought the cars in GT mode, and stayed in GT mode?

That would explain the power situation, or maybe you do have the units set to PS or something...
Loox like Tha Boss is undutchable again this week.

:irked:👍

I bought the cars in gt and turn back to arcade.

I had no chance to check again my specs yesterday. i'll do it tonite. If Gigiumba has the right specs, i should too.
I'll keep you updated.
Ciao and tks
Roberto

If that was aimed at me then Thank You Chuck :) I'd bet it'll be short lived though...

Improved a bit with the Skyline :dopey:

T1: 26.387
T2: 58.954

:drool: Sick 2nd sector Hugo, I had no false hope of catching that, but after about 2 hours I was hoping for something in the low 59.x range to no avail :ouch: Your tip on the roundy at the end is spot on 👍

I'm using 310 for the nsx and 290 for the skyline.

<lap t1="26101" t2="59264"/>
<lap t1="26398" t2="59538"/></driver>

the board

maybe it's best to post t's normally and finish posts, if wanting to help, with the luxy format. that'll keep the thread readable. feel free to choose :)

Managed to get both under one minute. :)

Still running 300 on both, might play around with gearing bit I don't think it will make much difference.

Edit: Oh yeah, forgot, using TCS on the Skyline - doesn't hurt me anywhere and helps a lot in the tight turns before T2

And the NSX feels like there's more left in it than the Skyline

Legible format:
26.303 59.787
26.583 59.923

Luxy format:
<driver name="2078TM" division="2" controller="2">
<lap t1="26303" t2="59787"/>
<lap t1="26583" t2="59923"/></driver>

Well, this will probably be my only time to run this week. These are my first clean laps, and unless Saturday night turns into a racing frenzy, which I doubt, this will it:
Honda T1= 27.119 T2= 1'02.731
Nissan T1= 27.269 T2= 1'02.307

Both using 300 gear and a DFP.

Yes, Eric, that was for you. Short-lived or not, you're fast this week.👍

I've made some headway but not enough to post and get me out of the cellar.:nervous:

I'll run a few more laps this afternoon and will have to post in the morning as I have a conference all weekend in Baltimore. Don't see us getting home until late Monday eve.

Chuk, I'm not doing so bad on the mud work. But man that corner bead takes up some mud......and a long time to dry eh?? :dunce:

Hi there, I'm new to the weekly race series but thought that I'd give it a go.
Does everyone ignore the "Don't post times or anything related to times" rule in the thread? ^^
Are most people here running the NTSC version? I've got the PAL version and I'm just wondering if the T1 & T2 splits for Hong Kong are different in the different versions?

Also, what's peoples preference on traction control? I've been running without it, but sometimes hitting the higher curbs can be dangerous and ruin a good lap!

Wulkum :) Nice to have another racer from the Pacific. Posting split times is not only okay but recommended. You can't post anything that could be used to infer the lap times though (e.g. my T2 was 1:02.777 but I finished the last sector in only 26.092s). These times go to Sjaak when you submit before 6PM GMT on Monday.

Most people here are running PAL. America, the land of NTSC just isn't much into racing that involves going around corners :) I wish I wasn't using NTSC because I can't view the PAL replays, and the fastest racers tend to be the PAL guys (I mean what do you expect, we have to process 60 frames for every 50 they get! ;)).

Most don't use TCS/ASM unless the car is particularly unstable. Split points should be the same for all versions but Hong Kong splits won't match New York (what we're racing this week).

As for the curbs ... if they throw the car off when you hit them ... then don't hit them :)

Don't know if I'm going to enter this week.
Maybe I'll enter again after my exams, because I'm really not studying enough.

Some more laps with the Nissan, top speed 290 and now I don't use 2nd gear:

26.382 (.318)
59.437 (.2)
0.3 to get

And a few with the Honda, top speed 300 and plenty to improve:

26.317 (.1)
59.571

<driver name="CMir" division="1" controller="1">
<lap t1="26317" t2="59571"/>
<lap t1="26382" t2="59437"/></driver>

Must..not..play NFS Pro Street...must be...STRONG!

Well, it looks like gtbadboy and I have solidified the rear-guard!!! This is my first evening with Woodford's on ice, and I must say that I concur as to its quality. Obviously, that means no hot laps tonight, but 01gtp and I are trying to do replays again, so you know that WRS is on our minds! [as always:cheers:] I have such a hard time keeping my marks in mind on this track. The car doesn't matter, I just don't "see" this track well, and it leaves me too tense to "SLOW DOWN AND GO FAST!" Good luck to all, and I can't wait to see what the lottery brings!!

@ gtbadboy: you can try a fan blowing directly on the corners, or buy more Woodford's. Setting-type compounds that chemically dry in minutes are available, but no fun!!!

I guess I'll opt for the woodfords!👍:sly: I've submitted my time for the week as I leave in the morning for a weekend long conference.

Seams don't look bad for an old guy who hasn't done this in awhile. :nervous:

Very strange indeed.

Seems a good idea to check your options again.

Otherwise there is no other choice then to go for the 481 hp for the Honda and the 442 hp for the Nissan.
Makes the loss to 2 hp.

BTW,

gigiumba also for Italy has the right numbers.
Talk to him I would say.

well,
check'd my specs again. Thats it, i have nissan 442hp/990kg, honda 481hp/1035kg.
If I go 1% less on da nissan, i get to 437hp. If I go 1% more on the honda, i get to 486hp.
Unit of measure is CV (italian version of HP), nothing else to test.

with these specs, had little improvement racing @ 300 on both cars (no TCS-no ASM). thinking to take a try on 290.
I do prefer Nissan's dynamics to Honda's. powerful braking, easier under/oversteer control, manageable tailspin on the first turn.

HONDA: T1 0.26.980 T2 1.01.677
NISSAN:T1 0.26.831 T2 1.00.591

and thats 4 luxy (is controller "2" meaning DS2?):
<driver name="moaibob" division="2" controller="2">
<lap t1="26980" t2="61677"/>
<lap t1="26831" t2="60591"/></driver>

Some improvement on both - but more time spent in NSX, so I'm expecting more from the Nissan if I can get another session.
H : 26.423 1:00.256
N : 26.997 1:01.301

Luxy:
<driver name="markprichard" division="2" controller="?">

<lap t1="26997" t2="61301"/></driver>

maybe switch from cv (commonly used in france as well i believe) to hp to see if there are any differences?

the board

btw: in luxy '1' means you're on a wheel and '2' says you're on a ds2. in multilappers luxy always displays a questionmark tho ...

I'm afraid not... it is just a question of translation:
CV = Cavallo Vapore = Horse Power = HP
But I'll have a try.

Anyway, will I ever get not being the forever-third-last @ luxy??? :ouch:

Thanks Erik!

Your splits ain't that slow either ;) Going great, buddy 👍

Did another shorter session with the NSX. There's more time left in here than with the Skyline, but still the NSX is way in front of the Skyline!

26.192 / 58.660

Almost off for the big LAN in Germany again. Won't improve my Skyline time, but might give the NSX another shot on Monday ;)

Hey bigracer, is there some reason I'm not on your luxy board? I posted times...see post 47.

Man you guys here are fast! I wish I could put in more time...oh well. 👍

Wife will be workin' and baby with parents for the day so make sum space people im giving the boys another run:sly:

More laps with the Honda:
26.265 (.124)
59.462
That is a slight improvement at t2 but with an excellent last sector which cut 0.4 seconds from my previous time. But I have no idea how to get 58.6??

sorry mate, welcome & understand that even i make mistakes every now and then :guilty:
you're in luxy now. happy racing!

Improved my Nissan time
H : 26.423 1:00.256 (as before)
N : 26.809 1:00.645

Luxy:
<driver name="markprichard" division="2" controller="?">
<lap t1="26423" t2="60256"/>
<lap t1="26809" t2="60645"/></driver>

Did tried the combo myself and it took me much effort to brake my test laps.
I reckon had a good day back then,

these are my splits:

Honda 26.391 - 59.963
Nissan 26.619 - 59.974

Final lap times have a difference less than 0.1 sec,....cool

Almost off for the big LAN in Germany again.

If you dont mind me asking Hugo, do the Germans make you look as silly as you make us look?

:irked:👍
I mean that in a nice way...

I need to go back to the Nissan, I started with it but have been beating the Honda to death. So far:

H : 26.281 59.274
N : 26.465 59.509

Luxy:
<driver name="superwally" division="1" controller="?">
<lap t1="26281" t2="59274"/>
<lap t1="26465" t2="59509"/></driver>

Another great combo.
