Hah, I've got a ways to go it seems.

24.647
1:05.977 (at least I broke into the 1:05's)

I'm surprised I haven't broken my wrists from all the wall hits :ouch:

Using 240 but might go to 250 - around the swimming pool I'm on the rev limiter.

However, I have started to control the drift in a few corners. My biggest time loser right now is the two right handers before the tunnel.

After a little bit more time, still killing myself after seeing various 23.6/7's but not tying that together with a strong 2nd sector, oh well.

23.984
1'03.707

Not my fav track, but may give it a go tonight, nice to see ya around here Minolta! Tell Iceman I said hi if Ben's still kickin' around at GTIRN :) Ur english is fine mate, better'n myne, lol.

I gave it a go for about 15-20 more laps last night and played with gearing. I think I'll be staying at 250 for the remainder. I found some pretty good time on the track but nothing to shift anything in luxy. I just checked out the GTIRN website and found the awesome replay manager they have setup. I haven't gotten it to work yet, but if I do it should be awesome. I used the google web page translator and it got about 95% of it translated. I am wondering if for some reason the files are being corrupted using PSsave Builder. Oh well off topic. Going to put in some time with this week and maybe scan more of that site.

Couldn't resist, just had to give it ago. :dunce::dunce:
That left hairpin is really pulling on those tendeons in my right elbow and forearm.:ouch: Wife's not too happy either, she caught me and reminded me I wasn't suppose to do this until Wed. :scared: Oh well this too shall pass eh?:guilty:

t1=25.307
t2=1'08.492

Just thought I'd tell you guys who dont know of him .... Minolta88 is a wicked fast driver who races in the Board Comp series for the Italian Team GTIRN and it looks like everyone will need to strap a rocket pack to the back of their cars this week as he will take some beating :P .. he's a valid and verified racer 👍
Welcome back to the WRS :)

Hi Mr P...!!! 👍

Thanks for my introdution...

Yes, I partecipate BC7 and BC6 with GTIRN and GTC2 and GTC3 with GTExD! 👍

Today I Improve my time...

T1 23.638 (.502 )
T2 1.02.359

I have 0.2 second max to improve!

👍

Quick half hour came up with these..

T1: 24.203
T2: 1'05.054

More to take off yet, but it's a compromise between going fast and leaving room so you don't hit the walls.. Quite frustrating at times. I'm not even sure if this is clean, with the tail hanging out it can be hard to tell if there has been contact..

Last week the Evo, now this? What are you trying to do to us Sjaak!? :scared:

Not my fav track, but will give it a go tonight
Fixed that typo for ya, mate. :sly:

Today I Improve my time...

T1 23.638 (.502 )
T2 1.02.359
 Sweet deal man, sweet deal. I wonder how close I'll be able to get to you by the finish... Probably not too close. It's nice to have another "alien" in the mix! Makes us all feel humble again. Makes me want to try harder. Not to mention the car's a beauty...
w00t!
24.573
1:05.644

I dunno how much more I can shave off of that.:scared:
Quite respectable anyway, in my opinion for a D3'er! 👍

Gotta do some Volvo forum reading and then I'll get back to this. Will hopefully have some clean splits to post by the end of the night in the mid 1'03 range. Saw one 23.6, but I don't think I'll be seeing it too often...

First Splits, with lots of room to improve -

Running with 250 Gearing.

24.859
1:06.429

Have seen 24.3XX on T1, only to botch it up in the hairpins. :ouch:

I like this track, but haven't run it much, more on GT3 than I have on GT4. Hitting the braking and turn in points on the first right hander seems nearly impossible to pull off with consistency. I've been trying to watch the overhang on the building to the left, with mixed success.

Any tips on that part?

I'm running on a 4:3 TV so this might not work for all of you. But if you run straight at the left wall where it bulges out a bit, start braking there down to 70ish. The other way is if you look at the trees on the right, once you get to 2nd to last one brake, again to no lower than 70.

Either way, you want to be as smooth as possible, because even if you take it quickly but botch up the exit, you can loose 3/10ths by the top of the hill (massenet).

well, first DFP session @ Montecarlo. not a bad result for being the very first time i use a DFP!

25.391
1.08.716

Will try to improve today.

STL has some good points and i'm using the shadows from the trees on the left side wall, it may be easier to see. I think I'm braking about 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 from the end
EDIT looks like third, sorry
going to race a little today and hope to get these times down, but for now
0'24.532 / 1'06.252
Thanks for checking my replay guys, hope my new disk gets here soon so I can check replays easier in the future
hey gtbadboy, if it helps, unplug power to wheel, there is no feeling, but it sure turns easier

Damn this racing series goes deep, I didn't realise. My sector split all I remember was in 1.07.xxx at T2, I don't remember anything else. I'm not a fan of this track, and I can't do well or I'm disqualified, this is just a little fun for me.

Sjaak, I'd like to shoot you. My favourite track, courtesy of GP4, and one of my favourite rallycars.

Combined with no PS2, zero free time and teachers returning from a two months strike.

Thanks STL and Kenny for the tips. Will try these on my next session.

STL, I have experienced exactly what you mention. Without smooth speed on the right hander, it's not just the first turn and uphill speed you lose the time on, you don't have good smooth, quick entry into the sweeper and miss the turn in point. That typically ends in oversteer and a wall bash for me. Amazing how all of the turns feed into one another on this track!

Kenny - It would be great to run against you in LAN. Either we are really evenly matched or I spend WAY more time than you at this. Either way, our last few laps have been uncannily similar!

Might be my usual Saturday morning with coffee and a full night's sleep session before I can improve these. That one is normally good for a second off my total, so we shall see!

Worked on this probably an hour last night and half an hour this morning and here's where I am at.

T-1 24.263
T-2 105.543

Still can improve....

Monaco is one of my favourite track! 👍

T1 23.553 (.420 ) .39x is possible with much fortune!
T2 1.02.235

And a very fast final! 👍

I think the absolute limit is yet 2 tenths under but now is really diffucult to improve this time!!

Probabily I close my session here... 👍

Not much in the way of improvement here.:banghead:I've seen some really nice t1's 24.7xx but I'm losing a great deal of time in the second sector. I can't seem to break into the 1'07's for some reason.:grumpy::boggled:

In any event what little improvement I've seen doesn't change my position on "luxy" so we'll just leave well enough alone.

Swelling is all but gone in right elbow.👍 Still get a lightening bolt every now and then while I'm driving but it's manageble.

Some really impressive times floating around this week even in DivIII:scared: WOW!!

edit: FYI Steve, I've been back on my dfp for a couple of weeks now. Thanks

Ironically enough. I'm pretty sure that my fastest T1's have been when I've completely slid around Massenet, but found a way to tuck it in really close at the end, then I take Casino at around 70. The thing where people might be losing a lot of time, is that Casino is VERY forgiving if you slide around it, I almost hardly ever hit the wall after it.

Hmm, maybe I should stop posting so much and actually get a few (clean) laps in. Otherwise I'll have nothing to show for all my theorizing.

As it turns out, I ended up wtih a little more time on my hands tonight. More consistency on T1 now that I found the braking point. :dopey: Thanks for the tips guys!!

24.233
1:05.898

And a full second off of my total lap.

Now if I can only figure out where I'm losing it in the second sector and catch these new fast guys in Divsion 3. :ouch:

Ron - Hope that elbow gets to feeling better. Probably not the best combo this week for a bad elbow. If you don't like unplugging the wheel as Kenny had suggested, trying setting the force feedback to mild in the options.
