Hey Guys ! seems like Im the only one missing down there Merry Xmas and while your just sitting around you could do another update

How's it going there on your side of town? Board is up for you too... Let's see who else shows up while I am giving holiday cheer

Have a beer on me then.

Another 3 seconds :
2'02.537 (-0.0)
4'17.714 (-1.4)
6'31.822 (-2.0)

The righthander after T1 will need a closer look. After half a dozen reviews it looks ok from all angles, but both inside wheels are really close to being on the grass.

Edit :
And done for tonight.

It's been almost a year, I think, since the last time I raced in the WRS, but driving on the Ring was too appealing.
great you're back, cyril 👍 got yourself another ps2 or jumped into the ps3 platform already?
no splits from me. working all special days (great to be a cook :ouch:) and otherwise doing stuff with the family. might get to it before the end of the week but i'll be happy not to finish dlbf :)

Hi Guys,
A very happy christmas to all off you.
Had time for one lap so far, hopefully later this week there is some time left.
Because the nurnbergring is one of the most demanding and challeging circuits (drove it ones for real in a citroen AX 1.1 ).
T3: 2.04.407
t6: 4.24.592
t9: 6.44.200

Good luck and have fun

I'm still using my PS2 (the slim one), but I got it back from the friend who had borrowed it. I'm not gonna consider buying a PS3 before GT5 is out in Europe.

Hi Cyril :),ouwe racert.

I got a clean lap in.

1'59.376
4'13.298
6.24.280

Some know I'm a ring hater but I have always said that if GT4 has no secrets anymore,i will learn the ring.
With some free days ahead the time has come not to drive but actually race the ring.
But that is more difficult then I thought.
Much respect for all those ring lovers who are so damn fast.

But when I think about it,
not all the tracks I can race, drive ok,but to race.......

Hongkong,NY rev,Paris rev and George V.

drove it ones for real in a citroen
I'm jealous

t1 1'58.943
t2 4'11.026
t3 6'17.531

working on the latter half of the track maybe too much
need to get it all together

Today I improve...

T3 1.55.705
T6 4.04.355
T9 6.06.809

I think this is a dirty lap but I'm not sure....

It's really difficult to understand what is the limit and how much there is yet to be improved... 👍

This sounds like a challenge... a clean, fast lap on the ring... never was very good at this track, but I'll give it a go!

Squeezed in 3 laps before taking off for the day, T9: 6'11.583, but not quite clean. Next time I post, I'll be in the 6'09s or better, clean.

Car is a bit nicer handling than I would've expected, which is quite cool. 10-15 more hp and it'd be a perfect match for the track with it's gearing and amount of grip. :) Verra nice!
Btw, I doubt I will be actually competing since I don't really have the time or inclination to take all the necessary steps to prove I'm not cheating ( as if my time is good enough to be considered cheat worthy anyway! ).
Weaksauce! You're not going to go fast enough anyway, even if you tried... (nudge, nudge) I mean, it's not like we don't trust you. It doesn't matter anyway, if you did cheat, the only person you'd be letting down is yourself. RACE, MAN! :P

If you do somehow get a gold, it's not going to kill you to get disqualified. You still had fun racing, and may or may not beat me.
these laps have got my heart pounding......WOW
I don't know how D1 does it
That's what it's all about man!!! :) A few more laps into this combo and my heart'll be going as well. :sly:
With some free days ahead the time has come not to drive but actually race the ring.
Good luck! With time you'll grow to like it, probably. :)

You hear that everyone else? Give it a good long chance, and it'll start coming together, and you'll enjoy the rush of trying to keep it fast and clean! Or maybe you won't. But you'll never know if you don't try!

Glad to have you in for a race Cyril, and another with you VEXD!

Update splits:

T3: 1'59.583
T6: 4'10.037
T9: 6'16.134

Hope I get to race again before the deadline, but I've got some busy days coming up...

drove it ones for real in a citroen AX 1.1 .

Im thinking of maybe going to the ring with my Rover coupe 1.6 next year around may and i was thinking Vexd might wanna come in his Civic but iv not asked yet or even mentioned it. Just an idea but after driving the nurb in the golf im thinking will i keep it on the road lol :P

Ive had another run tonight. I lost a full half second to 8 tenths on Angstkurve alone though :ouch: and i took it perfectly the lap before, which yielded a 6'06 T9, but i fell off for a split second through Wipperman :grumpy:

T3: 1'56.092
T6: 4'04.643
T9: 6'07.879

This car will understeer if you lift off, and turn in if you power on at a slow enough speed.
VEXD advice for driving it is: Aim the car as if your going to take every turn with your two inner wheels on the grass, and power on into the turn beforehand, to understeer and keep all four on the track.
Does that make sense to anyone?
In other words, i intentionally understeer, or take every turn before i get to it.

Good luck and be brave, the car will turn more than you think.

(Nice to be here Kyle, im always around, but not always aracing)

:irked:👍

T3 1'57.234
T6 4'05.554
T9 6'08.648

Great fun, Sjaak. Cheers mate. 👍

Edit:

T3 1'56.131
T6 4'04.691
T9 6'08.399

Edit:

T3 1'56.707
T6 4'04.722
T9 6'08.015

Man I don't know where you guys are coming up with these times! All I have to say is 'ring masters! I have gone at it for about 3-30 minute sessions starting with a t9 of about 6.35.xxx and now in the 6.24's. I will have to do some serious work to really familiarize myself with all the brake/turn in points. I've noticed big gains when really dialing in individual corners. With however many of them that there are on this track, I don't know if I will have time to dial them. I definitely used to race this track a good bit in an M3 CSL but not to the degree I am now. Hoping to get into the sub 6.20 range and then sub 6.15. Questionable at best though. T's

t3-2.00.773
t6-4.14.511
t9-6.24.128

Now I think to understand how drive this car well... 👍

T3 1.55.485
T6 4.03.067
T9 6.04.687

Unfortunately I lost very much in the curve before the T6! :banghead:

Probabily close now the session... I have 1 second to improve... I hope to have time... 👍

hmm been a bloody long time since i popped my head in here, might have to pull the ps2 out of retirement and fire it up for one last drive, a very rusty drive mind you... i see a lot of new faces on here, and a couple of old ones... will give it a crack tomorrow...

Wow...what a race! I got really frustrated last night having wrecked a couple really good laps trying to brake too late into the very last s-turn after the straight!!:ouch:

Well, this is all I could get clean last night after a lot of playing... :scared:

1'58.399 (57.9)
4'08.816 (05.x)
6'14.880 (11.x)

I will only have a short run tonight and then I'm off again until mid next week. I dont expect much improvement on a clean lap. 👍

I agree with Sjaak...its one thing to drive the ring, and another to race it! :dopey:

Good to see an old av here! welcome back

Finally got a chance to run

1:58.124
4:08.565
6:15.076

This is a great combo, car handles great (wouldn't know it's FF), soft suspension makes it relatively easy to keep on the track and slow enough that the brakes seem magnificent.

Last time I checked this car is 4 wheel drive. I thought it was FF too, but that sneaky 4 wheel drive can give tons of advantage. I just don't know how to take it like the others! :scared:

update just now...I am bit slower in T3 but way faster in the T6 and T9 :scared:

T3/ 2.03.215 (wtf...)
T6/ 4.16.531
T9/ 6.25.340

plus I was about 7 seconds faster in this go then the previous one. It can be done way faster though 👍

I'm sure you're right - It's a Golf so I assumed it was a front driver without even checking :dunce:. And that would go a long way towards explaining its relatively neutral on throttle handling.

Update:

1'56.743
4'05.590
6'08.560

I still see a second or two but as usual, lack the skills to retreive them. :indiff:

1'59.339
4'11.283
6'18.658

Reached what I set as goal after my first tries.:)
Now just see if I have enough backbone to continue in trying and learning.

But I had always troubles as a student back in my junior days. :P
