Had a quick blast at this, can't resist an "almost" stock road car on a circuit like Suzuka.

T1 59.187
T2 1'48.985

Probably about as good as my splits will get, but I made a complete Pig's Ear of Casio Triangle though, after swerving out over the kerbs exiting 130R, so I'm sure there's plenty more overall time to be dropped at the line! 👍

I'm horrible at this combo. Best I could come up with so far is a T1 of 1.02.xxx. I don't even want to remember my t2 time. I'll probably skip this week. GTA4 needs attention too ;)

I had my usual morning session and had mixed results, faster t1, slower t2 and faster final. So I'll post a picture of my real close call. Its coming out of the first turn.

/\ Looks dirty by my standards :/

I'll give this another go with the DS2 but like I've always noticed, hitting my 'limit' with a wheel in GT4 never happens...but in GT5P its the opposite :sly:

Jerome

I'd say differently Kenny.

You have a rear wheel on the kerb:- legal.

Your front wheel is clearly (from this shot anyway) in contact with the white stripe which, as can be seen as it extends towards the front of the picture, actually has a thin ribbon of tarmac exposed between it and the grass, thus making the white line acceptable as part of the track:- legal.

From the orientation of the car, front pointed toward the middle of track with rear out a little more, I'd say it's clear that if you continue to progress in this direction, that you'd be coming back onto the track, not getting further off.
It does also appear from this shot that there is rumble strip behind the line where your front wheel is, so that looks clean to me.
The only way this'd become disputable is if you paused again in about a yard further forward from this picture to determine if your front tyre is still in contact with the white line where the rumble strip ends and the grass begins.

Looks clean to me. If any part of that wheel is over the white line, even over the tar behind the white line, then it's clean. However, it's not the ideal angle to say 100%.

EDIT. I would be more concerned where the rear tyre will be after it comes off the wide rumble.

New times:

T1 59.246
T2 1'48.510

Made up a lot of time at the tight Hairpin Curve after T1, and got Casio Triangle right this time, gaining exactly 1.270s at the line over my previous posted splits. :D

Ahh man.. now I'm REALLY nervous about the SFGTP haha. Great splits Nick! I'll try to best that tonight :scared:

As far as the pic goes, I thought that only the rumble strips are areas where you can go wide, since the rear passenger tire is on what looks to be dirt, I would assume its dirty. But that is just something I do to ensure mine are clean. Listen to the two Mod's, they have the Powa! 👍

Jerome

Its clean guys. Thanks for the concern. Here it is before and after. I said it was close. Hopefully not my sub'd lap as I have time to go faster.

Now if you are anything like me you'll find your car like 5 feet from any white line for a while, haha.

LB Updated :)

Jerome

Some time, Jerome.
Give me another year and I'll be better, but I don't think I will ever catch you. :)
When I'm 5 feet from any line its in the sand or grass. :odd:

Best splits for me so far...
0'59.448
1'48.939

Going to be gone all weekend too, but I might have another go Monday night.

Time to get myself on the board. Splits after two sessions:

T1: 1'00.078 (aargh, just couldn't get under it )
T2: 1'50.031 (see comment above :dopey:)

Cant get settled in to a rythm... :boggled:

1'01.799
1'52.828

Also haven't spent too much time with it, either. Will take another crack at it Sunday.

Off to Richmond International Raceway 👍

Thanks jump_ace for updating luxy board i owe you one, been busy with work this weekend.

Luxy Updated!

No prob man, I remember when I had to update it all the time :S two people makes it way easy!

Jerome

My splits for this week:
0'58.955 (should be 58.6)
1'48.045
Finish: OK, not great but no stupid mistakes.

Submitting...

Hi all, reporting back in from a lovely week in France clearing up the house before sale. Looks like Jerry concocted another fine combo with my almost-favvie car of all (that being the CSL version of the M3). Will get to it tonight.
Also looks like Steve and Jerome have done a fine job in maintaining Luxy: 👍 👍 👍 and  to you guys!

Having that week off aint helped my times lol and i dont think GT5P has helped either, but ill get another crack at it before deadline hopefully

QUIK!

Steve -

Looks like you've mixed up Kenny (01GTP) and Drew's (2k2Z28) splits.

Thanks for keeping the board running smoothly. 👍

Just made a nice improvement at the line with another session this morning. Still at the back of the pack in my new division. :ouch: But I like my last sector on this one. :)

59.833
1:49.654

I might have a little left in the tank, but not much.

Kevin

This is a good combo to run consecutive laps and work on smoothness to me. I've not been to worried about lap times, rather finding the apex, something I'm not so good at :dopey:

58.761 / 1'48.056

I'm still leaving some out there, I'll have a few more goes before deadline 👍

quick question guys...

the light and dark green paved parts of the track are ok i know, but does this mean u can have 2 wheels on grass and 2 wheels on the kurb and green paved parts at the same time?

Thanks quick

The short answer is yes. Since the green sections are part of the track and only 2 wheels are required to be on track, you can have 2 on the green and 2 on dirt or grass. But I'm not sure that I would want to cut it that close. :scared:

In the mean time, I managed to improve again.

59.856
1:49.317

And even happier with this last sector. ;)

BTW, Thanks Erik. I kept thinking this but for some reason not doing it. I went back after reading your comments and managed to improve my time at the line by 0.1 and then 0.4 on consecutive laps within the first 10 of going back to the combo. Maybe you are better than you think. :dopey: 👍

a MAJOR chunk of time reduced...

1'00.527
1'51.281

Still room for improvement, but a very productive session

A first 10-lap session in this great car (what if we'd have slicks on this one ...) gave heaps of fun but also heaps of seconds :dopey: so I'm back on my spot where I belong.

62.388 - 1.53.356

... but loads to be found everywhere, and this is my 'tuesday-lap' so before tomorrow in the pm I'll hopefully have gained some :)
