Well I'm done. Just broke 59's in T2 and it's time to submit :).

T1 - 30.567
T2 - 59.954

Lost like 0.2 going slow into the second tunnel, otherwise I might have had a podium, don't know now. Tried to get it back on the next bunch of laps, couldn't come clost to my T2. Good luck to everyone else still going.

I'm sorry.... But this week's race has just made me feel like a thoroughly incompetent driver. Nevermind that I've had only one day to compete because of my schedule. Nevermind that I've only had one run and at mindight no less. I still can't keep the car in my control no matter how I tune it. I think it'd take me a good five days to have it the way I want, but here I've got barely an HOUR to do it before I get to bed.

Best/only t2- 1'02.442

I think this may be my formal retirement from the WRS. I've got school in a few weeks and my job is killing me! 🤬

I just didn't put enough time into this week (due to other commitments and a bit of apathy) to learn the new sections of the track and it shows in my time. I only improved about a second over my time from the first day, so I don't expect any points this week (well, unless there's very poor 'attendance' anyway).

last splits:

T1 : 31´102 👎 (don´t know what i´m doing wrong here)
T2 : 1´00´052

had a 59´962 once, but can´t get the lap togheter... just now i found the best setup and the way to attack that ******g corner that killing me (turns 2 and 3)

i was running pretty consistent laps on 1´00, but now a have to go to bed, otherwise i dont wake up for my job tomorrow... 👎

enough of excuses, maybe my time can still give me another (un)official win in div 2, i don´t know, have to wait for the results...

dammit, high powered race cars are my specialty... this week could be THE week for me, once again... i think i left about .7 ou .8 on the track...

well, let´s see what happens...

Did my time, after several runs, i´ve seen surely 0.2 that would give the goal i wanted so much, but im just too asleep as its 3 and half am here.

Will submit it since i think its a decent time, hope to get a podium. :)

T1 - 0'30.684
T2 - 0'59.413
T3 - 1'xx.xx6

Good luck to you all guys. :)

I am submitting my time now. I only did about 10 laps today, but I can't pull a lap without spinning myself out. This car is balanced on the edge of a cliff.

Here are my settings

Brakes: 3/4

Suspension:
(Standard Except for)
Ride Hieght: 45/45

Gears: Auto 14

Aids: 0/0/0

Downforce: 50/70

LSD: 10/40/20

Wieght: 70Kg/+30

I hope next week is a slow car.....Without tuning. I really don't drive fast cars fast nearly as fast as I drive slow cars fast. (If that makes sence...)

Bah, i didnt give it more than 20 miles on the odometer.

Roll on the next.

Save us Kent.

👎:grumpy:

last ditched efforts before the final deadline

T1 - 31.217
T2 - 1'00.662

plan to keep on pushing right untill the final minutes.

Gonna race the last hour now. I want so much to get under 1'00 at T2. It's going to be close this week! :nervous:

well, some thoughts about this week race...

i love tuning, but tuning that way that i did, is pretty much useless... besides my submitted time (which is maybe a good one) i only found my rhytm last night... that happened because:

i spent the first day that i ran with a ´00 model (castrol)

then, i started to change the setups, mainly on the suspension...

but then, just last night when i did a 2 and a half hour session, i find out some interesting things:

1) for some unexplicable reason, the mobil one car is faster than the loctite mugen

2) for me, the best setup for the suspension, was the DEFAULT setup, so i lost my time during the weekend

3) the only thing i needed to change, other than the downforce, was the LSD... the car handles best with all 3 at 5, BUT with this configuration the car spins to much, so the LSD acceleration should be incresed to 11-23 to make the car better to control without making it slow.

4) i had nightmares with the fast uphill section, just right after the first turn... most of the week, a ran with all LSD´s at 5 and just last night i found out that i was overturning that section... finally i learned that in order to make that turn right, i had to just keep "touching" the analog, not pressing like it was a big turn... otherwise, i just cause the front to oversteer, and the back snapped... :yuck:

really, 8 out of 10 times i pass there i had a spin, it was painfull (guess now i have experience with the NSX)

because of that i ran few consecutive laps... so that why i end this week race with i bit of disappointment... i´m sure i left .7 or .8 on the track... and if i understand what veilside told me, my total time is 1 second slower than his...
👎

well, its all a learning experience, hope next time we get a high powered fast car i don´t have to give excuses for not performing the way i wanted to...

but still, i might have a podium... 👍

I also have to make my own excuses for my poor time haha, but these days I'm so busy I just don't get enough time to do enough laps ... but it was a nice challenge this week with the NSX (which I thought handled way nicer than it did in this one !) But oh well, at least I did a few clean laps and got a time, which is probaly crappy, but at least I tried ...

My best T2 was a 1:01,6 or somethin' ...

OT

Sorry chaps, but if you're in BC5.

Go post a proposal.
:irked:

please :)

Hey Guys and Gals!

Good luck to all for the results, I'm gonna probably be top of a class of my own.....

I'm gonna submit the time i did VERY early on in the week (Before the sciatica set in ) it's in the RAYBRIG!!! :dopey:

Prob gonna be the only one to use that car!

It's a useless time really, but in the spirit of things here in the WRS, gotta submit something huh? 👍

Neil

Hope you're better soon balls and able to race without pain :)

I think there's been a bit of negativity this week but no combo is going to please everyone, I for one enjoy the challenge put forward each week, there's always something to learn. I only joined a few weeks ago but so far I've learnt:

Week 12: How to drive cleanly (I confess...I was a dirty racer)
Week 13: Not all gearboxes work best when revved out
Week 14: Manual has major advantages over auto
Week 15: Maintaining corner speed is crucial when racing
Week 16: How to maintain fine control over powerful vehicles (not fully learnt :sly: )

I for one am looking forward to what the next race brings, whatever it is I know I'll learn something new and become a better GT4 driver for it. I think Kent and CFM have picked awesome races and deserve more thanks...good job guys 👍

well, yes, maybe this needed a thread, but i don´t know what is happening with people here in the WRS... we have 300 registrated drivers, but last week just 39 submitted times... plus, if you look in the post count, 10 drivers alone are rensponsible for more than half of the posts...

WHERE IS EVERYBODY???

what about this week? :nervous:

i love WRS and i just don´t know what is going on... maybe some are tired, or don´t have time (90% of guys here complain about not having tome to play, including me) :ill:

on that pace, how are we going to work during the BC5? 10-15 guys racing? well, i hope things go back to normal, i thought this was going to get bigger, not smaller... let´s just hope... 👍

The 'old-hands' did say, right at the begining of the sudden upsurge in drivers that the numbers would dwindle down to a 'die-hard' few who really love racing!

Seems that it's happening, don't it?

Soon enough there will be just us dedicated racers left, and we can get on with having a good time nattering amongst ourselves about the nuts and bolts of setups etc.

And maybe there will be fewer head-banging, ego based arguments.

Viva La WRS!!!!

I second that too... My objective here is to every week learn something new, setups, driving lines, maybe a way to abandon my driving bad habits (late braking, lack of tangency, learn that there is more than full brake or no brake)... I think is easier to abandon booze or something than that... :nervous:

I may be a newcomer to WRS, but I am a die-hard fan o GT and racing, and pretend to be along the dinossaurs (being myself one) that will beleft here in the end of times...

Long live to WRS!

I liked this post. 👍

Don't forget the tracks that you have learned. You should be able to hop in just about any car and turn a decent lap on the tracks you have spent countless hours on. This is where most of your time comes from... learning the tracks intimately. ;)

 Wow!

 "Thank You" on the behalf of myself and CFM.
(I am sure I can speak for him in this one case ;) )

I appreciate both your respect and your honesty... I just wish more people could take a look at our races in the light you have put them in. 👍

Each week we do our best because we have an interest in doing the mod work.
However, it is replies like the above that make us feel good about the work we do.

Thanks again,
Sincerely,
-Kent
