Okay, tried no TCS.

Previous best:

T1 33.001
T1' 26.617

New best:

T1 33.817 BLEH!!!
T1' 26.398 :^)

Even given that piss poor start 0.8" slower than my best previous, I managed a final time more than 0.6" faster. If I could only get a decent start I might not embarass myself...

Still not feeling very motivated to improve though. I'm sure I'll give it a couple more hours though.

-Scott

still strugling with the start... but better times... besides this run been 0.3 faster in overall time, made a lot of mistakes during the last sector in both laps... still a full second of where i want to be...

T1: 33´184
T2: 26´151

lets race some tomorrow after the GP 👍

lil' bit better.

T1 32.886
T2 26.847

*edit*
mo better.

T1 32.973
T2 26.214

Using same settings Kolyana posted. (except LSD 5-5-5)

I'm gonna post these pathetic splits, just so i can get on the leaderboard..... :indiff:

fed up!

Changed into my new car, tricked it. Same result, I SUCK(OR THE CAR DOES)!

L1 33.937 :grumpy: :grumpy:
L2 27.080 :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: :ouch: :dunce: :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

Umm.....NO, NO, NO, NO!!! LOL. No its not that bad really, I missed the week 6 race as I didnt know about the WRS yet, but the practice would be good, but I would rather race at Tsukuba!!! In the Sauber C9 baby!

jump_ace

HA! A LMP at Tsukuba! NEVERRR!!!!

I missed the nurb WRS race too because I kinda drifted around the WRS section of the forum for a bit before getting in my qualifying lap.
I know there's been a bit of discussion in the suggestions thread about the Nurb returning to the WRS. I didnt like the idea at first but now I really like this course and in the past couple of days ive been practicing quite a lot. I think ive nailed the first 2 sectors now, in a stock M3 GTR race car I can get T2s of 1'14.9xx. I dunno how that compares with some other D3 guy's sector time's, probably not very well lol, but hey, it's a start.

Yeah everyone starts from square one mate ;)

jump_ace

We won't be doing the Nurb again until BC5 is over, probably about 4 weeks away. There's still plenty of unused tracks to try out before then.:)

Hi Cyril!

How's it going for you this week?

Getting sick and tired of fighting the steering wheel just to keep the car in a straight line too!

I for one cannot believe that ANY race car would handle THIS badly, let alone this badly in a straight line!

BTW these are my settings at the moment...

Rh 65/75
Db 7/8
Dr 7/8

Neil

I have absolutely no problem to keep the car on the track. No spinning, no wall hitting, nothing. I guess your problem comes from the height and bounce difference (rear higher than the front).
I use Rh 65/65, Db 10/10, Dr 10/10

The problem I have is due to my time : I can't seem to run below 34.4 / 27.9 and I don't know if it's me who brakes too much (most likely) or my settings.

Thanks Nat, Neil and Matteo for the settings you posted, I'll try them tonight.

As for the Nürb, there are many tracks that we have to visit before coming back to the unending german tarmac. If I were in the suggestion thread I would mention George V ;)

Well I squeezed in 5 laps. Not sure if I'll get more time to run because my fiancee is here visiting this weekend. So I've been...well...occupied.

34.738
27.132

Those were run without any major modifications to my setup. I also noticed that my Minolta has almost 13,000 miles on it - so even after a chassis refresh and multiple oil changes, it may still not be 100%. It feels awfully squirrely at high speed. Maybe I'll set up the El Capitan 200 here today and get myself a shiny new one to run with.

Peace all. Keep Kent in your thoughts and prayers.

You mean well occupied ;) .

Was up late last night watching replay of qualifying for todays GP, and put this down at about 3 am:

Lap 1 - 32.588 👍
Lap 2 - 26.087 👍

Blew the first lap, ended up a good 0.15 off my best first lap :yuck: , but the second has been my fastest yet. Beat my old time by 0.3. Came within 0.061 of my goal for this week, so I might be submitting this one. I'll give it a go some more tonight maybe if I have a chance, since I know that 0.061 is out there...

Settings:
Gears: 19

Suspension: (F/R)
Springs: 19/20
Height: 55/57
Bound: 7/7
Rebound: 9/9
Camber: 3.5/1.5
Toe: 0/-1
Stabilizers: 6/5

LSD: 5/5/10
Brakes: 2/2
TCS: 0/0/1

You've got me whupped this week. Still blowing some cobwebs off and I'm hoping to improve a little, but man, those are nice splits.

Thanks! If I was still using my own settings I wouldn't be close to these numbers. BTW, jump ace is the author of these settings 👍

T times only tell half the story this week though. With everyones numbers being so close, there will probably be some shuffling when the results are posted.

Got another hour in this morning...

T1 33.421 (getting more out of the start, still not great...)
T1' 26.358 (still more to gain but feeling okay)

Bettered my best time by 0.4" or so.

Still hoping to shed another 0.5" by the end of the week.

first combo that CFM has gotten wrong in my books :D

my crappy time has been submitted, heres a chance for the other D1's to make me look bad!!!

one thing i found curious is that for what i see, its only me, veil and shigspeed that are running without TCS.... hm... lets see if that extra effort pays off in the standings...

I'm finding that once started there's no question that it's faster. It's getting that launch that's difficult.

I'm finally getting to where my first T1 is as fast w/o TCS as with. Best w/o is 33.2 and best with is 33.0. Given that, I'm HOPING that further seat time and some suspension tweaking will get me the half second I want, and that whole second plus that I fear I'll need to even catch a whiff of veil's draft at the finish!

Any hints as to launch techniques? please? ;^)

this will be the first time i´ll be at top of the leaderboard in WRS... i feel so honored... i´m in the middle of a session, but in my very first race after 30 minutes setting the car, i had this:

T1: 33´401 :yuck: (will be better, i promess)
T2: 25´742 :dopey: (go back to the wheel veil 👍 )

found settings that suits my driving style perfectly. if you guys want to try, here it goes:

14.0/10.5
55/55
10/10
10/10
0/0
0/0
6/6

TCS off

LSD
5/13/5

good luck, and i´ll get back with new splits...

my face right now: :dopey:  :)

getting back to what i really like: racing cars and setting up things...

Those are some crazy settings fasj! I'll have to give 'em a try.

One thing, though... Looks like you'll have to shave a second or so from your start to catch veil. Practice that launch man an you'll have him! :^)

Keep us posted,

Damn fasj, that's a sick second lap (if you finished it well). I just put up these splits:

Lap 1 - 32.681 👍 (saw 32.561)
Lap 2 - 26.371 :indiff: (saw 26.021)

I know they're slower than my last posted splits, about 0.4 combined :odd: . But I ran a first lap faster than the old by a good 0.15, and nearly equaled my old lap 2. I nailed the left after T1 and made it stick while being fast in the last turn on both laps, something I hadn't been doing. So I beat my old time by a good 0.1, which put me past my goal that I was looking to hit :D . Probably still have another 0.1-0.2 out there, but I think I'm gonna submit this. Good luck to you guys, hope to see you get that first lap down there fasj 👍 !

So that was the good news, bad news is I rolled passed the 700 day mark in all this running, and lost my chance at the black cars 🤬 !!!!! I had 60 days left and thought that was enough, went right past and didnt know it. Keep it in mind if anyone else is getting near there and wants those cars. Do they come up again  ??

They come back around on day 1388 I believe, its a 100 week cycle so no worries u can still get them its just gonna take a while.

Driving no tcs is faster. 👍

Nice second lap fasj, altough u know my final time and u can tell me how much ur off so i can see.

But ur going good, nice job. ;)

I will play abit more tomorrow and i will definately broke that second barrier i want so much, altough its almost impossible. 👍

There´s no secret for the launch thing.

From the standstill to the end of that bridge in the straight, u have to get a 8.0 second time passing right under it´s ending. Just go no tcs, and accel like 70% when u are still stoped. When you start, just accel as more as u can but avoiding wheelspin always.

Put a quick second gear after redlining and third gear at 125 km/h. Thats the way to go. ;)

The 4 black cars can indeed be bought on any 100th week :
Week 100 : days 694 to 700
Week 200 : days 1394 to 1400
Week 300 : days 2094 to 2100
...

But make sure you have at least 8 or 9 million credits if you want to buy all 4 of them.

Phat, all I wanted to know is if we'll be doing it again some time. There's still some stuff i'd like to try out before anyway. And it'll give me time to practice. Hopefully next week's one will be a nice fast single lap one in a race car. I've always loved the speedy ones like R390 domination at El Capitan, the RX-7/8 at Trial Mountain, and the Bentley Speed 8 at La Sarthe.

Keep 'em coming CFM!:)

well veil, i´m still a good and long 1´4 behind your time, so don´t worry ;)

today i might have another session, because i left 0´8 somewhere... but if i don´t get better, that´s ok, because i already got what i was looking for :dopey:

but with this settings i can consistently hit 25´s now, the car just feels less shaky... ok, it doesn´t really explore 100% of the potential of the car, but it makes you reach the limit easier... finishing my session last night, i had a 32´8 T1, my best with the TCS off... that would be already 0´6 of my time, so like almost everyweek, i believe my top time will come monday night 👍

i really feel more comfortable to tweak the settings after this week... running in practice with the ghost, i found that a softer spring rate in the back would make the car more stable, you don´t loose control in turns... the dampers provide enough stability to make turns, while not affecting top speed... a strong spring (20/20) might make a better car to a track like autumn ring, but not for HSR... with 14 and 10.5 i can hit 405 km/h before my first brake... well, hope i can get a good 90 minutes or so today...

just bringing that up again... tomorrow we might have less than 30 times in the results... i don´t know if its BC5, or a hard combo... but that´s just a shame... well, congrats to those who ran 👍

Hi folks,

Was away all weekend and have been quite busy of late so I haven't put any real time in since my last splits. I also split the skin under my right thumb over the weekend making accelerating with the DS2 a bit painful right now so I'm submitting my time.

I am detecting a disturbing trend in my contribution to each week's race though. Practically the whole Div 2 field jump in front of me on the first 2-3 days and then over the subsequent days I reel back positions, only once did I lead from the front, I'm always chasing.

I can usually do okay if I put serious (and I mean SERIOUS) hours into the combo but I don't find it as enjoyable during the week, although getting the result is much more enjoyable (obviously). So from this week on I'm gonna put less time into my races. It may mean I don't submit as many scorching laps but it will mean I might weed out my super-competitive streak that can at times consume me and also, my constantly sore right index finger and thumb might experience some relief.

I love racing the combo each week and I will continue to do so from here until the arthritis/RSI takes over, but I think I'll decrease my total racing time...sort of feels like a cop out but I'm just not naturally fast, rather than strive for 1-5 I think I'll go for 5-10. So having said all that, if anyone wants to watch a leisurely, and most importantly safe, spin around the High Speed Ring check out my replay in a couple of days :)

Later folks 👍
