Finish: 1'xx.xx2

Slowly working bits of it out

Hi Guys and Gals! :)

Not been on for nearly a week, been decorating ( yes, Dear!) and not had the time (no,Dear, i'm not taking time out from toil to race or surf!), so didn't even submit a time ( No! ,dear, i don't really mind! My pals won't miss me! Honest!) :ill:

Will be giving this week a go, but gonna let you lot get a damn good head-start, then i'll get the incentive to catch up to the bottom of Div 2!

I know that I like the track,
I know that i like the car,
I know that i won't get even close to the top,

But,

I'LL BE BACK!

Just ran my first 8 laps of this, this is pretty fun.

T1: 26.510
T2: 45.910

I hope to drop maybe 1 second by the end of the week
If that's really only after 8 laps, then DAMN.

Oh and Pan Euro championship = European Championship

...just realised my T2 is super slow :indiff:

Must be a morning thing. That was the most I could squeeze in before I had to go to school, so I was trying to get as many laps as I could in that time. I also used manual for the first time in a while.(Which I've looked and I've got a podium everytime I raced using manual, except last week...yet I still rarely use it....I have no idea why)

How are you guys tackling the Hairpin? The results are going to very close again this week I feel, and I think this and the last corner will be critical to getting a winning time.

Hmm... I hear you on the morning thing maybe... I did my fastest lap in the F1 car in the morning after only a few laps, but that was after already having spent a few hours driving the combo on previous days. But still, when I came back to it, I couldn't drive anywhere near my ghost, let alone get the full second I could see almost easily when I had been racing it that morning...

I think all your t times are bull crap i can't get the dang car to get below t1-29.00 the thing wont turn

Sometimes there is no shame taking out the GT3 Instruction Booklet and going throught the driving technics ... go ahead try it .... its one track mind ... RACING LINE!!!!!Good gas, good brake, everything should go well...

 :D
It turns, you just need to time the turns right...
But yeah, I dont know how some people can run sooooo fast.....

If you're having trouble, just remember: slow in- fast out
Just slow down and work your way through a few laps without pushing the car-or you..lol Then gradually*sp* work your speed up.....

Dont make me come over there and hog that 52" tv again....lol

I dont like the corner after t1, i loose so much time if i turn in just a fraction too late :(. And theres that annoying thing sticking out from the right just before you turn in, ive wasted a few tgood t1's clipping that :(

T1 - ???? wasnt paying attention
Yeah, split times appear at the worst moment on this track.
You read it and you miss next turn.
Or perhaps there are too many turns and too many walls. :)

new splits...

26.676 (26.4xx)
46.291 (45.9xx)

i reckon i can still squeeze out another 0.7-0.8 just have to get the big sweeper in T1 and the hairpin in T2 right and i should get my target...

Hey guys and gals

Just had a quick session

No-where near anything but the bottom of the board

28.319
48.872

After about 10 laps.

Pathetic i know, BUT.......

For anyone else who is having problems with the rear rotating at the entrance to the tunnel, and elsewhere it feels like it, put softs on the front.

Same principle of reducing the front downforce in the F1 cars.

Reducing the front end highspeed grip so the oversteery rear slides as the front starts to slide too, 4-wheel drifts!

Superb fun, re-learning how to drive this way, and getting faster!

Lovely combo, first time i have really enjoyed it for a while.

just wrote my splits about my old lap from tuesday, i will just try this combo more on sat, as now im worried about S16.

T1 - 0'26.129
T2 - 0'45.150

My best yet.......div 3

T1:27.931
T2:51.193

Its getting better but still slow i have a lot of work to do...lol

Nice to see some new (as far as i kno) faces this week. I cant remember who said it, but the end not rotating thing out of the tunnel? I dont seem to be having probs here, as long as you slow down enough and drift out, then i sometimes even find myself on the left side of the track on the way out of the tunnel  which certainly helps in the next corner :P

Yeah, you need to come out in at least the middle to get a chance to get over to the left. If you don't you end up far to left on the exit of the next right hander, which means you can't take the next 'left-Almost-U-Turn" anywhere near good enough. (I hope that made sense)

But as long as you brake in a straight line into the tunnel, the car should remain balanced. I've never come across sliding 'out' of the tunnel, unless you brake or let off the thottle, so you should keep it flat.

Actually mate it's the entry to the tunnel that was causing me problems.

Now with the soft fronts i get a lovely 'Finish-flick' for the long left.
Which i drift round, full throttle, hugging the left of the track right to the exit, not an indignant tailender into the outside of the corner.

Each to their own, but it works for me.

25.894
45.026

but i was at one stage doing t2's of 44.75x but could never bring it home, best T1 split was 25.804, btw, i drifted most of the corners up untill and including the tight hairpin, using 330 top speed setting, i know i can beet my time but i think i'll settle for this time for now 👍

Yo Wiz,

You were so devastated with the GV race that you didn't even submit a time! What was there to hate?

What was there to hate, you say? Let's see... Apart from the car, the track, the fact that we had it in GT Mode, and pretty much everything else you can name? Uhm... I don't know, I think that pretty much covers it, though, don't you think? :D :sly:

And if by "GV race" you mean Week 15 with the Honda Gathers Drider and by "devastated" you mean the fact that I won in what used to be my division back then (Division 2), well, that race was way better "fun factor-wise" than the next one, despite the AI.

As far as I can tell, this race doesn't look too good either. I run a few laps the other night, and the thing oversteers like "some really bad word that I am not really allowed to say" and the walls just make it all worse. I will probably try with harder tires in the back, so I can counteract the oversteer a little bit and get some powersteering going on, but if it won't look too good even then, I'll just give up.

This weekend (Friday, Saturday AND Sunday) there will be an airshow in town with tons of RC airplanes, food and hot chicks. And they are all looking better than the Jaguar already :D

The Wizard.

Slowly working my way out of the basement. Hopefully expecting to hit mediocracy.
