GT4 WRS Week 29: "Night Ride"

That curbing in question is legal, but it is very difficult to get on it without touching the wall, so be wary of any speed drops there as they may be considerd a touch by some. If you have another time that is close without coming as close there it may be worth it to submit the slower time for your own peace of mind.👍 Just look it over carefully and submit if you're sure it's clean, or get a second opinion if possible.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that if there is any type of speed loss from one frame to the next while fully zoomed in the analyzer while under full throttle, then 99 out of 100 it's a touch. Usually if you hit a curb while under full throttle the speed will actually increase usually in my experience. So that may help you decide.
 
Well I just wanted to give a shout out to all you D2 guys for putting up some really sweet splits! I can't seem to match them, I'm pretty much licked this week! Keep it up guys! :drool:

Well if I can get someone to have a look and they're happy with the lap then I'll submit otherwise I'll submit the other one I have. I may also get another crack at it before submission time.

So any takers to have a look at a PAL ".max" replay for me???

I'll have a look at it MisterWeary. I've got my ps2 at home today.

Hopefully I'll have a chance to set a time for this race today. :)
 
time submitted... probably be ~1 second behind the best effort. but enough fun for me this week. gotta do another 7-10 page paper + oral presentation.

can't wait to see the results, especially since the last bit of ssr5 is arguably the trickiest.
 
I would agree with that Watson, it is VERY tricky. But incase anyone hasn't noticed....the very end of the lap is just aboutalways the trickiest and its always some stupid thing they put in just to ruin what you worked so hard for up to that point. I'm no where near you this week Watson, terriffic splits! If I remember correctly, wasn't it you who suggested this combo? Challenging to say the least especially in this wide car. You know the more I drive these fast cars, the harder it is for me to keep up with you guys Ive noticed over the weeks. Gonna have to watch that...lol. Yet again...no new spits.... :nervous: Laters!

Well thanks to VTRacing for having a look at my lap...it is, however, dirty. So that sucks cause it was on the limit for me so it's back to these splits for me:

T1: 0'26.642
T2: 0'46.247
Finish: 1'xx.xx3

And also back to the race track :indiff:

The point is that there was a 3.8 km/h speed drop over the space of 2 frames (ie 1 metre). I'm confident that the only explanation for it is a wall touch.

Good on you though for putting it out there for query. That karma will come back to you as a faster time. ;)

Yes...there should be more karma in GT4, then the AI would have a big load of bad luck coming their way :sly:

I put a few more laps in but couldn't get into the 45's at T2 but I did find a faster way around one of the corners so we'll see...
 
ok, ive got new splits,
t1 - 26.26 = avg, saw a .150
t2 - 45.5 = great,
last section was one of those section you do one by accident then can never do again, i was so close to every wall it was unbeleivable :P Unfortunatly on the last corner before t2, there is what looks like a touch. Ive gone through looking at it in photomode a huge ammount of times, and i cant see a touch to the wall, just a very heavy touch to the curb i guess....
 
Damn Randy! Those are great splits... Did you check in the analyzer for a speed loss at the curb touch?

Me? Still in a funk somehow... I'll post my splits, but I'm counting on MM for redemption.

Probably last splits of the week, not coming together like I want it to :grumpy: .

I know I can get 26.3, I've done it countless times, then I would be pretty close to Watson, but its not happening.

heh, the time i submitted has very similar splits to those actually.
i did the last sector fast enough to be .1 under my 26.2/45.7 lap.
i think the one i submitted was like 26.3/45.8
should be a close one this week. ;)
 
UGH....I"ve hit some 45.7's now but man if I would just quit looking at the split time I might actually be able to drive thru the chicane how I need to.... :indiff:

Well, depending on how often I'm interrupted by ghosts and goblins, I'll be putting in an hour or two tonight into the witching hour. Hopefully I can scare up a few hot laps driving with spooky precision, screaming like a banshee down the straights with supernatural skills. Too bad this cat ain't black cuz that'd definitely be worth a tenth or two tonight.

Ok im submiting my crappy time from tuesday, it was got after 40 mins, i could improve it by 0.6 or .7 im sure. I didn´t play since that as i´ve got a new computer here and im playing some pc games this week, so i just didn´t play GT since friday, also been alot busy.

Im not hoping a good place at the grid, but i don´t worry, good luck to all ya and next wrs things will back to normal way. ;)

now im out for some laps at GTR.

I found some magic on Tuesday rather than Monday (us Aussies are a little more advanced than you Americans :sly: ):

T1: 0'26.549
T2: 0'46.129
Finish: 1'xx.xx4

Beat my old dirty lap by 0.15 with a magical finish. Very curious to see how people did T2 - Finish???

My final lap time has worse splits than the last one: 26.5//45.8, but I took .25 seconds off my previous best lap of 26.4//45.6, go figure... done and submitted.
 
Well, I finally found one monkey that stood out from the crowd tonight. Only took two hours (tonight that is) to find him (he had wings on, this one, and a bellboy vest and hat. Wasn't sure what he was supposed to be but he brought with him a mighty stash of sweets!) but he managed to improve my frightfully slow previous best lap.

Ran 330 top speed and RSS/RS to get this lap.

T1 26.339
T2 45.863 (first time in the 45's embarassed to say)

T13R, the results should be very interesting indeed! You must have really blown that 45.6 lap or really aced that 45.8. Too bad you couldn't finish with the latter driving on the former lap! Could've shaved nearly a half a second!

On that note, I'm done for the week. Gotta bring in the pumpkins and hit the sack.
