Kolyana,
I used to think it was something about American women when it came to GT (since I thought none of them would play).
That's thanks to "Lotus350 and Exelero" (sp?).
I guess you've stumped me now that I've met an american girl who plays GT. I suppose they had to be out there... I just haven't met any (or dated any  ). :

Sorry ... I'm English. I moved to the States in '98 ;)

Sorry ... I'm English.

I'm sorry too ;) hahaha....j/k...j/k... u know I love ya, especially after this weekend!

If I were using a DFP or the R3 to gas and brake I would get a better time with aids off. But using X and square buttons is no good with TCS off, at least for me, because the car has too much power to control its sensivity with them.

Mmmhmm, yes, what was this weekend? Lol. I'm now within .3 of my fastest DS2 time, and it was clean, but seriously, it's SOO HARD to get clean fast laps. Well, I guess it was like that with the DS2 too, so... Ok, back to it... One hour left before I need to leave for work...

Hmm... From what I've been PMd and other comments here, I may sit down for an hour or two tonight and buckle down and try sans TCS again. I know I don't have a problem negotiating without, and rampant wheelspin isn't a problem. It's more of a security blanket thing. Maybe with a fast lap (for me) saved, I'll give it another go.

No win, for sure, but maybe I can cut another half second or more.

We'll see if the simian hordes are up to it.

AHHHHH!!! I just had it! I was on the stairs, a GOOD bit ahead(although, only a 53.0xx T2, but still, a GOOD exit onto the stairs, and then all of a sudden when I landed after the first jump, it went sideways, like it caught a curb or something right next to the wall, BAM into the damn guardrail. Don't land your jumps right next to the guardrail I guess, cause it'll MESS YOU UP! WAAAAH!!! It was going to be GREAT! :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :yuck: :grumpy: :ouch: Argh.

And Shig, I agree with the security blanket thing, lol, well said.

EDIT: 10 minutes later: I'm REALLY frustrated now. Oh my goodness. T1: 16.037, T2: 52.79x! then a little too wide on the exit of the following turn. Soooo mad. I have maybe 10 more minutes. GO!

Kolyana
You'll have people talking. :D

Talk talk talk talk!!!!!

Hhehehehehehe

I think i see between the lines....

It could be the first GTplanet baby... awwww....

Well, next lap out, I got it. I GOT IT! Sooo happy. Awesomeness.

Ok,
T1: 16.283
T2: 52.591 w00000!!!
T3: .25 off of fastest DS2 time...

I can go faster, I've been faster before, but I don't think I'll go at it anymore. Going to a birthday party tonight after work, and I think I might start practicing for the LAN this coming weekend. Not sure if I'll be using the wheel or DS2 for that... I know that when I screw up and spin out, I'd be much faster correcting with the DS2...

Anywho, final setup: I finally refreshed the chassis for today's session.
Suspension:
6.2/4.0
101/105
1/1
1/1
1.6/0.5
1/1

LSD:
6/15/15 This setting gave better traction coming out of corners, and took most of the rough edge off of oversteer while braking

Tranny:
Auto 9, stock final setting

Brake Balance:
4/3

ASM and TCS:
0/1/1

Full downforce. Racing Medium Tires.

DFP!

Loved it Cyril! Thanks a LOT! 👍 👍 👍

Just so nobody feels too bad(lol, or just so you know I didn't get this in five minutes), I did something along the lines of what Skillracer did last week, although, not quite 25 hours... I know I did more than 800 miles though. Maybe even touched 1000, but probably not. I reset the game without saving a few times, and my car only reads high 500 miles, but I know I've put in a couple hours minimum that aren't accounted for there.

OK, I've given up. I don't know where some of you find the time to do so many miles. Unbelievable, and some unbelievable split times as well, from some of you.

Anyway, I'm submitting my time, after I beat my personal target. I'm still frustrated, because I've managed to get much better sector times but have not been able to keep the lap clean. But there's beginners for you.

My final splits are:

T1: 16.901
T2: 54.564

hardly 0.15 better than the last ones I posted, but my final lap time is 1.3 seconds better than on that lap. Going by the leader board, I'm not doing too bad for a rookie. We'll see after the results come in though.

PS: Thanks to everyone for the tips & hints on setups, racing lines etc. Helped alot!👍 👍 👍

We have a new MMRT (Million Monkeys Racing Team) member ladies and gentlemen! Congratulations!

Heh...

I haven't quite done that many laps yet, but maybe tonight! :^)

****. These times are going down everyday.

Looks like I'm going to have to try Zik's settings and have a final run tonight.

Gee's I was hoping to work my way down to a low 16 and 53 but now some of you speed freaks have made it impossible to catch.

Spits in the 15's and 52's, damn thats quick. Although I have yet to try it with TCS off. Hmm worth a shot tonight in my last dash for glory.

Still some of those turns are really chalenging my consistency.

I'll be on the train most of the day tomorrow so I posted race #43 a few hours in advance to keep you busy after you have submitted.
(Or perhaps your fingers/pads will need some rest after this week's effort ? :mischievous: )

As for the results, they'll be up later than usually : expect at least a delay of 3 hours, perhaps up to 10 if I'm arriving way too late in the hotel.

Got you updated on the board 👍

And don't knock yourself too hard (we all do it a litle bit :P) I joined the WRS about a year ago and I was *NOT* particularly good (still not, imho). I came 21st in my first week. But a little practice and a year later, and I'm up a division and running 2 seconds faster on combos I couldn't get any quicker on even 8 months ago.

Am I ever going to be as quick as some of these guys? Hell no! But every week I go into this looking to beat my own personal efforts, using inspiration from those around me to encourage me to go faster ... and as long as I can put in a good effort for *me*, then I'm always a happy camper. If you beat the goals you set for yourself, that's a great week! 👍

I may not run again tonight ... I think I could save time, maybe another .3 or .4, but I've put a lot of time in on it and I've demolished my goals I set for myself ... time for a night off and a little Hearts of Iron or something.

Submitted my time. I could still improve a little, but I can't stand playing this anymore!

T1 = 0'16.085
T2 = 0'53.048

I just watched my replay again and decided to take a quick picture. :sly:
Btw, are there any D1 racers who seem to be slower than me this week? (I've kinda got this feeling I'm going to be last in D1)

Kent
(I've kinda got this feeling I'm going to be last in D1)

I really doubt that Kent, although I havent really been watching your times, you usually have me creamed..

Anyway, Time submitted, as much as I hate to admit it. This track proves to me every time that it can still thoroughly whip my ass. It was a great race though and I managed to pick up nearly a half second later on, even though I am still no match for the top guys..

T1-16.166
T2-53.073

On to next week..

Not fair. Had a 51.9x but ruined it.

Then I had a lap that's .6 better then my current one, except I grazed the wall on the first corner. Lost 1mph, that's how small it was.

Have one last go tonight to see if I can get that .6 back!

Time submitted 👍 Really curious to know how my back sector holds up, it felt fast but I just don't know any more :scared:

Time for submission for me.

I run 15 more minutes, earlier, but then I just got fed up with walls, railroad tracks, 5 meters high rumble strips, and meaningless "steps" and I moved onto the new race.

Which would be absolutely, positively fantastic, if it wasn't for the AI. Hopefully I will find an AI Setting that allows me for easy passing, by the end of the week. And then I'll start to really enjoy it.

Anyway, let's see if my nasty time is enough to beat at least one racer in here :D

The Wizard.

submitted

Did really race lots this week, but i put in a decent go and i doubt id find more than .5 no matter how much longer i played.

On to next week.

Time in. Could of taken 0.5 off, then I'd be close to the limit of how fast Auto can go, so I'm kinda happy. This combo has worn me out...I want to go to bed..

Oh, Congradulations again Flat-O, for giving me the First GT Mode combo I've ever enjoyed. 👍

See? Everyone can learn to love GT mode!!

Casio, great splits this week, and welcome (hope I'm not being too presumptuous) to D1!

I didn't run last night, I'm done, submitted...

With a shake of the head, I've got to submit a time that is a full second off my best clean run :( Forgot to save the thing ! grrr

My thanks to those of you that have shared your set-ups. I learned a lot this week :) I couldn't drive your set-ups right off, had to sneak up on them. This rookie thanks you :)

Turned out to be a nice combo :)

flat-out
I used to have real people to compete against, but that was long ago. Since I joined the WRS, they can provide no competition anymore : they're just clever AI who can quickly move out of my way when I'm passing them. :D
Ok, what I meant was, I guess, I wish I had somebody real and good to compete against :D

The Wizard.
