In reference to KLR

you didn't want to post your replay file? I got the feeling everyone wanted to check it out...

Small_Fryz
Cyril you would have to edit the results now that KLR confirms his time was indeed a typo?

BTW KLR no respect lost from me mate, I knew it was an accident and never done on purpose to cheat. Just a typo 👍

I updated post #1 and also removed Kyle's time from the calculation, which promoted Smallhorses and ferrari_chris to gold times.
I'll check PAL replays tonight for weeks 45 and 46.

Thank ya,
shockwaveracing
wouldn't worry about it people make mistakes...
Thank ya,
Casio
I'm flattered that I have my own 'quality' now

It's all good mate, just a simple typo, these things happen. I often think most of hol01's must be typos too!
Thank ya, and indeed, you do... 👍 Crazy man! Jeez, we used to be pretty even back in D3, and then when you were in D2 as well... But then you just kept flying on by. When'd you start chasing Dan regularly?

Well, that's mainly because they thought it was a whole second faster than it really is... I will post the replay tonight though anyway, just so I can prove to all of you who don't believe that I only ran a 55.344 instead of a whopping 54.344, hehehe 👍 .

So, Cyril, does that mean I have a DQ'd time this week?

I'm afraid it does. SimRaceDriver submitted a time that didn't match his replay either back in week 30 and was DQ'ed. It's a pity when you consider all the effort you've put into that race. :(

Aw, man that sucks. :ill:
DQ'd because of a typo. 👎
Sorry to hear that Kyle. :(
Oh well, we learn by our mistakes, and you'll not do it again I'm sure!
I remember back in the GT3 days spending ages trying to shave a final 1/10th off a lap, and when I finally did it I realised I'd miscalculated the submission deadline, and was an hour too late! :dunce:
Never missed a deadline after that! :dopey:

Smallhorses

That sucks indeed, but I think we all appreciate Kyle's effort and commitment over the past weeks, and that's much more rewarding than the color of your name on post #1 or a few points on the board. Isn't it ?

hmm, i dont think KLR142 should be DQ'd cos of a lil typo in the submission. i remember back in week 2x, the week at SSR5 with the fast car, i had a .002 secs typo error in my time submission, and the results were changed, but i wasnt DQ'd due to that typo...

What you mean happened in week 29 (just before I took over) : your post is here.
I think that makes it a legal precedent (or whatever you call this in english).
SimRaceDriver's situation in week 30 was slightly different since it was no typo : he had deleted his submitted replay and could only provide another replay with a different time.
Kyle : that's enough for me to change my mind and to correct post #1 once again. 👍

Darn. I should have sent my time. I would have finished second (56.127).

Good decision Flat-Out. You ought to be more careful KLR ;)

About this combo, I voted "poor" because I was bored by the unstability of the car (drifting) and the poor braking/cornering and also bored by the ******* track and its narrow width. Looking forward Week 47 though ;)

That makes sense. The replay will solve all questions though. Everyone should submit a replay just to make sure there is no doubt.... I didn't enter this series until I had a Max Drive in my hands. In the off chance that I did really well in a race (you D1 guys rock!) I would want to be able to prove it as soon as the results came out. That would prevent a lot of chatter....

I think the RSR thread is a great idea. I am going to send my replay there...

Agreed.
If only it wasn't such a PITA to extract a replay from the memcard I would make it compulsory indeed.

G/S/B apply in each division : the color of your name shows what you got. Silver in your case (div 2 silver to be accurate).
Thanks.

One more question though: How can there be more than one Gold/Silver/Bronze? The number of medals awarded varies, so does it work on how close the times are?

Thanks.

The whole discussion is here. To make it short, I use the average time and standard deviation for each division.

When I got promoted to D1. But the thing that really improved me I think was the change to manual. The last time I used Auto was week 42. My last week in D2. I thought, if I stay Auto, I'm never going to be competitive with these guys.

Absolutely! I even stopped keeping track positions and crap in my sig... It's still more fun to be included in the results though :). 👍

Oh yeah!!! That's the main reason, I bet. I forgot about that. Yeah, it's capabilities are much higher... 👍

Just checked the following NTSC replays.

SHigSpeed 👍
Smallhorses 👍
Jake73 👍
If one of u guys could check my replay, I would be grateful. :)

@SHig- You certainly did nail that lap! The key was your exit out of the slow right just b4 T2. U did it fairly tight, which gave you a great angle and lots of speed into the final sweeper. Nice.

 Steve!

Working on your replay now..... will edit this in a little while when I've seen it's clean.

Glad to see Kyle is back in the results table too. 👍

*Edit*
Ok, watched MinorShunt's lap, and as expected, it's clean. Nice job,👍 so that's how the last bend should be done? Probably could have sneaked under 55s if I'd worked that one out properly. :grumpy:

Yay! First place in Division 3, my first time! :D Anyways, I just got a Shark Port, would that work for submitting my replay?

damn i got 2nd in divison 1

I though i went crap because my second sector was slower than everyon elses

I am definately going to have to get something to upload replays

A) Congratulations on your first 1st!

B) yeah, the SharkPort is a method of submitting replays, but it's a little outdated now and we're limited to who can view your replay. If I remember rightly, Kent has one from his days as WRS organiser, so he may be able to help you out.

Or, you can use the programme that's linked to here, (took me 15 minutes of searching to root this little bugger out mind you!) to convert .sps (Sharkport) files to .max (MAX Drive) format, so that I, or anyone else on NTSC using the more convenient MAX Drive can check them out for you. It's a little extra effort on your part, but worth it in the long run since you've more chance of a MAX drive user verifying your times than a Sharkport user nowadays, judging by the fact that the majority of replays are now submitted in .max form, unlike the old GT3 days when I seemed to be the only driver submitting .max laps, and there wasn't a conversion programme back then! :ill:

Hope that helps.

KLR142
should be it.. lemme know if not!

Well, I'm up late (v. excited, off to Utah for 3 days Snowboarding tomorrow  ) and I've had 3 shots of tequilla (good stuff, Cazadores, none of that "lose-your-eyesight" Cuervo stuff! :P ) but, I can still safely say that the replay you've submitted is for WK47, CZ-3 Rally Car at GVS East Reverse, not WK46!

I know it's a PITA, (Can't believe I've actually used that acronym, maybe I'm feeling younger & "hipper" thanks to the tequilla! zOMG I'll be using txt slang next! D'oh! ) but I tend to transfer replays 1 at a time and rename them as soon as I connect the MAX Drive to the PC, that way I'm sure I have the right file, since the regular MAX Drive naming convention sucks lots of bottom. :D And unless there's a huge difference in file sizes between the files
you're transferring, it's difficult to tell then apart!

Green flags added for Smallhorses, SHigSpeed, MinorShunt and jake73.

@ zdenko : a Max Drive is definitely worth the investment if you don't own one. The delivery might take a while though. Do you live close to another WRSer who could do it for you this week ?

@ Thirdeye : the Sharkport is enough. Once you've plugged the USB cable, just download the replay on your PC with the Sharkport software and attach the .xps file to a post in this thread.
There are tools to convert this .xps into a .max to make the replay readable by people using the Max Drive.

Hey flat-out did u get my pm

Typo Damn and i was coming second before it i forgot to put in the pm that the t1 and t2 are stillt the same its just the final time i stuffed up

flat-out

Not to cause trouble or anything.... but since the majority of users are on MAX drives now, the onus should be on the Sharkport users to convert their files to .max format before they post them, not on us to spend extra time to convert files before verification. It seriously took 15 minutes of trying to come up with the correct search terms to find a link to the conversion programme, and that's only because I knew it was definitely available from the GT3 era. God help anyone trying to find it by using common sense search terms! It could take hours or days to find what they're after if they don't know what exactly to search for! ;)

@ Smallhorses :
I'm using the conversion soft and I can do the conversion, no problemo.
I'm downloading all replays anyway for archive purposes.

@ zdenko :
I received your PM and replied.
I've updated the results too in post #1.
Yet, as I say in my PM, a fast rookie submitting a typoed time makes 3 reasons for other racers to be suspicious, so I'd appreciate if you could provide a replay even if your time is not gold anymore.
Anybody here who lives in your area would be happy to help.

Don't mean to be a pain, but with all the typos going around where are the replays for holl01, Casio, ferrari chris, thirdeye etc. I think that top 3 in each division should submit. I'm getting a little leary about the status of times.

I mean, come on, the times are plain as day on screen... and it really isn't that hard to load a replay...

zdenko. maxdrive. it's cheap. We can afford a PS2, GT4, and a TV to play it on... but somehow a maxdrive is the most difficult item.

there's a entire page of them on ebay: http://search.ebay.com/max-drive-ps2_W0QQfromZR41QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQssPageNameZWLRS

flat-out : does this happen alot? For a new racer, it doesn't seem right.
minorshunt : thanks for checking replays!

I would be content at the bottom of the leader board as long as I know that the times above me are honest...
