I don't think it's my fault the leaderboard isn't working...I've checked the code carefully and it seems to think there's a function missing which I don't think has anything to do with me.

Until Luxy can have a look I'd say the leaderboard is out of action.

Those Div.1 times are real shocking.:scared:

Seems there is much time to win and even so much time to lose.
Signs of a good combo.👍
To bad the Ford can't be used on Bathurst.

Using 300 gearing

49.065
1'29.726

Hopefully, those are competitive times, thanks to a couple of extreme changes in driving-style.
First of all, I moved to Manual. As weird as it sounds, I just had my first two-player session this week, and my buddy, who never played any racing-game before, MT'ed my ass (in a double-as-powerfull car). So I switched, and voila, suddenly a '66 Alfa Romeo can beat a '97 Supra. BIG Change here...
Second, as I learned from Week 66, ASM can sometimes be helpful on racing-cars and overpowered ones. And it was, and boosted my times by 3 seconds!

T1: 0'51.911 (had quicker ones)
T2: 1'35.955 (coincidence, the 911-955)

Had one amazing lap, but screwed it up in an effort to make it even more amazing - misshot on the 130R, into that asphalt. Those times are from my best clean lap. Had a close section on the Degner Curve - on the second part, I kinda steered too much, and had two wheels off the track, and the other two on the rumble-strips, barely touching the asphalt. Does that count as clean?

I know where to cut off times - on the S and Anti-Banked, I brake too much before. On the Hairpin, I brake too late/too soon. Spoon ain't that hard, I simply reached it only a couple of times - gotta adjust to doing Degner, only reverse there. On the 130R, I always over-brake a little. Casio, as always, is much too tricky for me. I get an exit-speed of about 90KM/h, regardless of gear (2nd or 3rd)..

New splits for me:

48.828
1'29.202

I can see where I'm losing most time (Degner & the hairpin) but correcting it is easier said than done :scared:

I can now consistantly get T1's sub 49 sec, and then T2 around 1'29 to 1'29.5. But, I can't do anymore, just submitted my time because I'll be away for a week and won't have the PS2. That figures, I really liked this week, and could have made a LOT of improvements.

Some times for the leaderboard which I see is working again, Luxy.

T1 0'50.492
T2 1'31.600

Outbraked myself bigtime at Spoon Curve, :ouch: then again into the last chicane, I forget the name of it now...Do you know what it's called Colby? ;)

It's a bank holiday on Monday, an extra day off this weekend so plenty of time for some more laps.

Darren.

Oh great, I post times then Neil shows up. :grumpy:

New splits:

T1: 0`48.560
T2: 1`29.034

My finish wasn't spectacular though, only 0.15 better at the line. I've had sectors that add up to more than 0.5 improvement but I'll be damned if I can get em in the one lap :indiff:

Board Updated

I have a new lap time, .7sec's faster, here are my T's.

T1-49:017
T2-1:29:810

But I can't go any faster, because I know the car can go
faster but I have hit the limit with the DS2 controller.
The car just won't steer any more so I can't go any faster.

Maybe 0.2 left in me, but this is damn close to my limit!!!

T1: 0`48.569
T2: 1`28.854

And my best finish yet (despite a very very close off on 130R )

Couldn't get any faster. I've done splits that were about 2 seconds faster, but I always screw up elsewhere - a dirty turn there, a missed downshift here.

Anyways, concerning the cleanness of that lap - the thumbnail attached shows the only place where I've got a wheel off-track. Is this clean?

Both left tyres are still in contact with the rumble strip, so yeah, it's undoubtly clean.

Alright. I guess that even though it's clean, It won't be worth submitting. I just can't get the hang of this track and car. Holl01's walkthrough did improve, but there's just not enough skill in my hands.

I see no reason to have a clean lap and not submit it. Since you have put some effort in this combo, you'll be happier to see your name at the bottom of the results than not at all.

Seriously, do NOT get me started.

Can't seem to find any improvements yet. :banghead:

Everytime I get one section right I screw up another, need to find that magic lap and put them all together.....same old same old. :)

Back later with better times......I will improve.

Darren.

Edit: Just checked the board. Dammit......Even Cyril's in front of me.

*Fires up the PS2* ;)

That's it. You guys probably found some software that merges the best parts in each lap to one ghost, and then speeds it up a little.

Edit: Just checked the board. Dammit......Even Cyril's in front of me.
I'm not 100% sure I should understand this as a compliment :)
But, yeah, I mean I ran only 12 or 15 laps on this combo so I guess it must be sad to see your name under mine.
I"ll give it another go tonight or tomorrow, perhaps I can find an easy 1 or 2 extra seconds.

Ha-ha! New splits. While they're not a big improvement, the final time is whole second and some 1/1000s of a second faster - probably because I figures out the right way to take 130R (without braking), and finally found a way to hit the Casio Triange exit with 100-105KM/h, while shifting to 3rd.

T1: 0'51.399 (Weird)
T2: 1'34.512 (MB RAM)

I had faster T1s, but they we always followed by a dirty T2/Finish... I'm taking a break for today, and probably won't be running tomorrow. Did the Citta di Aria Normal and Hard, because that smooth track just makes me happy.

Finally a lap which is the best I can do for this week.
So I'm done for now.

48.787
1'29.252

laters.

Submitted time:
0'50.852
1'33.072

There's still about .75 out of that, but, well, not playing for three long weeks 'cause your little brother lost the game will cause you to get rusty...

Got some new splits but it's one of those situations where it's very hard to tell if they're clean or not? Its the first left hander. I turned in too soon and it looks like the front right wheel may have gone onto the grass before the start of the rumble strip, after half a dozen goes at trying to pause it in the right place and failing I've given up. :banghead: I'll keep 'em to myself for now.

They're not my best work and aren't going to move me up very far. Should be able to improve on them tomorrow anyway.

Darren.

Wow i feel so much better now. At first i couldn't get on with this track at all, but now i got to grips with it a bit more. Iv spent so much time in the kitty litter that i thought that i would never get a fast lap. Having a breack has made the difference thou and now iv gone out and blown away my old best lap by some margin. Some how it just click,💡 its like a weight has been lifted off me:) :) :) :)

Here is my splits

T1- 49.909

T2- 1'30.654

👍

MisterWeary,
I believe that you entered AngelCreator's time incorrectly on the leaderboard. Just a heads up. I'm sure it took alot of work to get that time.

Yeah I did spend some time on it, I was tring to beat my fully modify
Suzuki GSX-R/4 and I did by .3sec's. Not bad when you think the Suzuki
was on R5 tires.
