Just done my best T1 time

T1- 49.343

T2- #'##.###

God dam it i blow it big time, kitty litter :ouch: :ouch:
but at least that is .566 faster than my best so far

Hucker696 just keep trying and you will get better and you got to be willing to push it to the edge to get a fast time:)

Spent another half an hour on the race, and then that's it for me. I'm not enjoying the understeer on a track I still don't like yet... :-\ Don't feel like working on it.

This isn't moving me up on the leaderboard or anything, but it's .7 faster at the line... And being submitted.

49.444
1'30.502

No new splits. I seems impossible to depress that understeer when pushing it, and it seems impossible to keep up when not. Bring on WRS 71... Or I'll have to compete with GT4 newbies in my neighboorhood.

MisterWeary, I believe that you entered AngelCreator's time incorrectly on the leaderboard. Just a heads up. I'm sure it took alot of work to get that time.
Yeah I did spend some time on it...

Let me assure you, the time it takes an individual to achieve a lap has nothing to do with my inability to enter data perfectly. If you see an error then feel free to PM me or post it but don't take it personally 👍

Board Updated

Was on some fantastic laps today. But my secret weapon let me down....Looks like I'll have to have another Tuesday night blast.

Gingiba
probably because I figures out the right way to take 130R (without braking)

No you didn't. Not unless you stopped on the track about halfway down the back straight. Or lifted halfway down the back straight. Or you're using the run-off area. Or you're on a softer compound.

On RMs, but my exit speed out of the spoon allowed a brake-less (although throttle-less) pass through the 130R. I just lifted 20m before (approximately)...

I'm quickly tapping the brakes before entering the 130R, but it looks possible to take it flat-out. Well, at the speed I'm arriving at least.
I know I'm close to having 4 wheels on the inside at the apex, I'll check my speed later and post it.

I still can't figure out where an apex is... So I don't know where I am. I know that on my runs, I get a little close to the outside rumble-strips when downshifting (since the turn costs too much speed) and accellerating out of the corner, after trying to keep to the inside...

Ok, here is what the data logger says for my current saved lap :
  • at the end of the straight, in 6th gear at 276,7 km/h I release the throttle and brake quickly to drop the speed at 232,7 km/h ;
  • then I put the gas back and start to turn the wheel ;
  • I stay under full throttle through the entire 130R and ride the inside rumble strip at about 245 km/h

Since I'm not even close to riding the outside rumble strip (about one car width away from it), I guess it's possible to stay flat-out all the way through if you can ride all rumble strips properly.

Since my sister took control of the PS2 (watching "Pirates of the Carribean"), I can't check, but I tried different combos for the 130R, and this one worked best. Just like the uphill part of the Dunloop curve can be taken at the start of 4th gear (310 gearing) at full throttle...

No wonder I'm so slow....I'm not even close to running it flat out! (No pun intended. :D)

Here is a vid of the way I take the 130R.
4.5 Mb, .mov format (Quicktime), and no sound because that's all what my digital camera can do.

I don't think it's possible to be taken flat-out. I havn't tried it, but on my absolute fastest I'm tapping the brake, hitting the apex at about 152-4mph and exiting with millimetres to spare at about 160mph. To take it flat-out I'd think you'd have to take it somewhere near 165mph.

I enter it in the average RPM-range of 6th gear on 310 gearing. By the time I exit the curve, I'm usually down to a middle-high 5th gear... It's possible...

OK, 3 days about 5 hours and no improvement at the line - that must be time to call it a day? If I want my controller to survive and for me to reach the end of the week with at least some degree of sanity left.

Thing is, I've seen a 0.3-0.5 improvement at T2 a few times but screwed up the chicane afterwards. Always the way I guess.

As for the 130R, at best I reach 280kmh on the straight, turn in and tap the brakes to around 242kmh and accelerate through the corner touching the outside rumbles at 258/260kmh and I certainly never downshift. I do that about 1 time out of every 5 (other times I'm about 248kmh on the exit) but the annoying thing is that when I manage to do it I always forget to adjust my braking point coming into the chicane to account for the extra speed I'm carrying :banghead:

Time submitted.

Edit : Yes, I do PM myself my laptime. Or else I need to switch on the console, which is a bit of a problem on tuesday evenings when the missy is watching TV. :ouch:

I always keep my latest T-times and laptimes on a piece of paper, where I note it down after every good lap, review the lap, and add notes. Has it's drawbacks (like the Week 68 crisis, when I lost that paper), so I just add that to my MSN secondary message - this reminds me of the time. This week though, the time was easy to remmember.

Time submitted.

Time submitted. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to come back to this fun combo.

Sadly, For me at least, I haven't been able to beat my leaderboard times.
So I am submitting that lap!

The Wk 71 race is SO good, I can't help myself!
And don't want to lose my line-up till someone else posts some splits to judge mine by, so I can't exit out!

Oh well!:sly:

I made about 15 laps. I finally got back home to CT. I have been wanting to run this all week! :)

51.009
1'32.009

PS: Flat-out rocked this one.

T1-50.518/T2-1'32.441.
Cut some time off, not as much as I would have liked but it works:D.

Edit:
Are there any other girls on the WRS?:boggled: If not, it could get lonly here:nervous:

I did not mean that in a bad way, I was just saying that it took a bit to get the lap time I wanted.
I did not get to see the lap time you posted because you had it change before I got back on.
So no harm done:).

Not at the present time as far as I know.
But Sharkey, lotus350, Kolyana, EXcelero and S00zster used to race here too.

If you feel lonely, well you'd better invite a female friend of yours to race here too :)

22 times in.
Strange thing is that all div1 are faster than div2 who are all faster than div3.
The board is pretty nicely ordered ATM :odd:

Yeah, I noticed that today. Seems like the Ford requires an alien grip in order to be driven at alien speeds :P
Week 69 was like that, too... (Except for RandomChicken, who was weirdly slow)
