GT4 WRS Week 80 : "Vive La France!"

Fun combo... not sure what div i will be in, but 41.8xx after some time stuck in the 42's with a ps1 controller... Using a ds2 i broke into the 41's on the second or third try... Are these controllers that much different?

boy do i suck at narrow city tracks. not sure if i'm liking it either. gonna fiddle with at/mt and aids.

47.470 (don't laugh)

edit: this is no fun for me. so i won't invest any time in it trying to get faster.
time submitted.

Hi Dave, the DS1 is not pressure sensitive whereas the DS2 is, that's the only difference I know of?

There goes my top spot on Luxy's, if Dan is joining the party :sly: .
I'm really enjoying this combo, narrow tracks are very frustrating but when you get it right boy does it feel good :D

nope, only using 2nd, 3rd or 4th

I can't seem to carry momentum on the right hander where you get the 1st gear warning light. I am trying to avoid the rumble strip becuase it seems to upset the car too much. Although my best laps are when I drop it into 1st and carefully run up on the strip. I tried using 2nd gear there but the revs go way to low and it seems like it takes forever to to get back into the power ban.

40.563 DFP, can see another .1/.15

what i did is the first corner u brake quite late and into the apex, and drift it a l;ittle if u can at around 103km/h now for the loooooooooooong left ahnder flick the car in at the start and drift it for the first part, releasig when required, and then re doing the drift, u should be gion from 100 to 105, and then as u near the end of the sweeper brake a bit for the right but take it at 100 km/h
then 62 for the right and a little tap of the brakes as u really get over to the right hand side of the track in preperastion for the linking left,a nd the next left ttake at 70km/h in 2nd, the left u take at 105 and u will need to counter steer as u hit the t1, now it goes 70 for right, 54 for right and then full throttle for the left, then the tigthests corner on the track u take at 53...using all rumbles, then take left at 61, and then the next left at 56, the fast left at 102 and the last corner (tricky to get right) take at 106.

great 1st combo weary, but u really need a dfp to get much pleasure out of it. tried ds2 first up and didnt even break 41 barrier

Half a dozen laps, best clean T1 at 43.989, unfortunately wasted in the penultimate turn. 43.0 expected by the end of the week.

glad to see you racing again, cyril. Are you in your easy chair or cockpit? :sly:

I need to fix my DFP then :)
I cracked the 41 barrier myself today, hitting a 40.764 at T1 :D . As it happens I was using the same techniques as Dan. just not as well :P

Board Updated

After like 15 minutes. Funny how I used to completely hate this track, now I'm just... ok with it... Although, it certainly helps that the car doesn't flip over like the last time I tried to race it, with I think the R8.

T1 - 42.125

Hi everyone. Just started in this gt4 forum and racing league. Im tempted to use a madcats steering wheel but not sure. From past exp. ive found i can shave 2(ish) secs a lap off times around Midfield with it and find it easier to use.

Hi Chilly, welcome to the WRS. Just a note if you're hoping to participate in week 80, you need to complete the qualifier race first which you can find here, it also might be worth your while having a look through the FAQ found here.

As for the madcats wheel, I've never heard of it, but if it makes you faster...it can't be a bad thing :sly: 👍

Hey this one is a fun challenge!! Awesome Mr. Colby!! :) --- Randy

I'm sending in this time because after my big memory card died on me I just
don't want to race on GT4 right now. Here is the list of games I lost, most
of them where at 100% too:(.

Armored Core 2, Another Age, 3, Silent Line, Nexus, Nine Breaker, Last Raven,
Ring of Red, Front Mission 4, Le Mans 24 Hours, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2,
Oni, Mobile Suit Gundam Journey to Jaburo, Zeonic Front, Federations vs. Zeon,
Encounters In Space, plus a few more. This makes me very sad:(:(:(.

I managed a 41.6xx and am thoroughly impressed with the 40.xxx times!! I've been holding out on the dfp for years, and now... It seems mandatory! This leaves me with no other choice... come to papa!

I know it's too late now, but you can copy your game save files to your pc with the Max Drive... I have them saved on my pc too, just in case. I already heard of too many MC's needed to be formatted :scared:

You do have a MaxDriver and never copied your gamesaves on your PC ???
I have almost 30 Mb of gamesaves on my hard disk.
My second memcard just died last week, I'll see if I can re-format it and then I'll load again all the game saves I had on it.
I only lost my first MGS3 game (14 hours lost) which I had never extracted.

damn how close are those walls...

Very...:banghead:

20 laps and I've still not done anything close to clean...This may be the first week I don't submit because I have nothing clean??? Still plenty of time left to get a lucky clean lap I guess.

Fastest, nearly, clean split time so far was a 43.5xx. It was clean up until the end of the first sector, I then stuffed it into the wall on the right hander after the splits disappear! :ouch: 🤬

Darren.

I'm having the same problem. Last night I did about 25 laps, all with slight wall touches somewhere. Really annoying.

Im just planning on not entering this week and just having a go to see what the running is. Managed a clean 42.6 last night. Had to push hard tho.

"George V", Sometimes I love this track, and sometimes I don't!

History - "On one visit to France in 1915 George V fell off his horse and broke his pelvis."

How did this track really get its name?

Flat-out

Yeah from now on when I get a game done I think I will copy the save to the computer so this won't happen again:(.

The start/finish line of that track is on the avenue des Champs-Elysées.
The straight section before the last turn is on the avenue George V, hence the name of the track.

That is what I have heard too and all my saves are backed up on my pc and on cd, but I've yet to format any of my memory cards and I use them quite a bit (or atleast I think I do :))

I'll try this combo out after a lil' trip to Bobkarts, looks cool and I love George and its demanding turns.

Jerome

This combo is good and evil at the same time. Evil in that I really don't like George V (I prefer Opera). Good in that I do like this car, though its not my fav MR configured car in the game. I may end up getting my DFP out for this. Just maybe...
