GT4 WRS Week 84: "This mountain is a trial!"

think i used 290, cant remember, but mamanged

15.156
33.409
58.375

can easily see another .3 as i had a terrible last chcikane. i used 4th gear for corner b4 t2, rest in 3rd, with the exception of the first and last chickane sections, stay in 5th gear for them. great combo, quite challenging, seen a 14.9xx t1 once but that requires a hell of alot of luck. had trouble keeping the car stable over the jump directly after t1, few times it snapped straight left into the wall.

did a bit of experimenting last night with RS tyres on the rear to see if i could overcome the understeer i was getting, but had no luck in going quick after T1, could get 15.3 consistently but got a little messy after that...

will get back into it tonight to see if i can find another second...

tried it for 15 mins with ds2 and managed

15.051
33.255
58.132

time submitted.

16.462 - 36.427 - 1.02.269

still need to find a second or two in this great combo.

How come whenever I get some good splits I always mess up on the 2nd last corner or go flying into the wall on the last? I'll get some one day!

Finally a semi-good clean lap!

T1: 0'15.743
T1: 0'34.970
T3: 1'01.545

I've had better but I always mess up on the last 2 corners :(

EDIT: Jut got some even better splits!

T1: 0'15.450
T2: 0'34.556
T3: 1'00.691

Competition competition, sounds tough. I welcome all the returning drivers, while my PS2 is playing with me again. No arcade mode (DREs on the main screen), but I've got the 'Ring :D
Dammit, and this combo was so fun... I'll have to work on it a while.

Hey hey got me so new splits and clean at last.

T1: 15.137
T2: 33.875
T3: 59.123

Using 300 gearing

But i have to say there is more time in there as my nerves got me. I blow a few tenths here and there form T2 til finish but i had a great chicane at the end :) :)

Try doing about 1000 laps and then see what you get, cos that what it feels like iv done so far

Doo it! More competition in D3! :D

Is that the only reason you want me to race?:indiff:
Well you got, I was doing some laps and I have to say it is the most fun I've had on GT4 in a long time.
Here are my T Time's.
T1-15.983
T2-35.261
T3-1:01.076

I don't know how I'm doing for my Div yet, but I have lots of room for inprovment.:mischievous:
And I want to submint a picture to. I'll do that later.

No... I want you to race because then you're still part of the WRS community and you're participating and you're chit chatting and you're having fun. Well, that's how I think of it anyway. :)

I have to say your right, she still comes here when she can and she still has fun here.

Edit:
Oh and watch out div3, because I have seen what she can do:scared:.

Edit2:
Crud:ouch:, I forgot to post my T times.

T1-15:183
T2-34:257
T3-59:410

I can see a little more time left, but we will see.

Well for those who are struggling here's a run down of how I'm taking the course this week. The first and most important thing is to brake early and accelerate through the corners...so keep that in mind:
  • You should pass through the start/finish line at about 245km/h (152mph) make sure to stick to the far right. As the rumble strip comes up, brake a tad so you can take the next two corners at full throttle.
  • After the slight right-hand kink, try to stick to the right, if you brake early enough you can power through the next left hander in fifth gear keeping most of your pace.
  • For the next left-hander you need to brake early again, down to about 100km/h (62mph) and third gear, then power out of the corner and try to take the jump in a straight line so that the landing won't upset the car for the next corner, you should pass T1 at about 15.4.
  • Just after you land you will need to brake hard again down to about 100km/h (62mph) and third gear. The speed you carry through this corner can vary depending on whether you get a slight drift going.
  • The apex of the very slight left-hand kink is your brake point for the right-hander, it can be slightly drifted as well at around 140km/h (87mph) in third. Letting the car coast a bit is the easiest way to induce a little drift.
  • Make sure you are over to the far right approaching the next left-hander after the bridge. The shadow on the road is your brake point for this corner and much time can be made here, you should brake down to about 130km/h (81mph), stick as close as you can to the rocks on the left, the closer you stick the faster you'll exit.
  • Coming down the straight you should hit T2 at about 34.0 and your top speed before you brake will be around 265km/h (165mph). Your brake point is just before the shadow ends and you will brake down to 100km/h (62mph) and third gear.
  • Round the twisty bits now you will almost touch the limiter in fourth, there's no need to go into fifth, brake early and hard for the right-hander before T3. It needs to be taken at about 95km/h (59mph) and third gear.
  • Coming down the hill you should hit T3 at about 59.0 and brake down to about 110km/h (68mph) for the left-hander, keeping speed here is useful but also tricky because you can slide off the track easily.
  • The last chicane before the start/finish line is quite tricky which sucks, since it's at the end of the lap...however it can be taken in fifth gear by simply touching the brakes and turning hard at the same time. If you time it right you can slightly drift through the first corner with a good line for the next one...very tough though!
And that's it, that ought to help you get this vette moving pretty swiftly around the track :sly: 👍

start-T2 is killing me this week, but after that i am doing alright... so if i can suss another 0.6-0.8 out of the start-t2 time frame i should be looking a little quicker than these splits would suggest, has taken me three days to get the hang of this thing :(

EDIT: some splits from a faster lap
15.425
34.168
59.024

YES!!! I LOVE this car!!! I suggested this one instead of the C5R when we were on the 'Ring a few weeks ago.
This should be a good combo, I'll get splits in soon.

Tight competition in Div 2... You gotta love that!

So far I had my best lap with 280 gearing...

Better go back and push some more out of this one... With all my best splits I could be at least half a second faster, but putting them all together is really really hard!

Thanks for the play by play Mr. Administrator Man!

:ouch: Not happy with this but here's something for the board:

16.139
35.088
1'00.825

time to read Colby's synopsis...

What speed did you used,MisterWeary,280?

Anyway I have some splits.
and since I'm no Div.1 ,it took me more then 15 min to reach mine.:odd:

15.650
34.252
59.424
T1 can better so there is still hope.:D

I'm still in doubt if the combo is fun or not.
Most of the times it is a good sign.

Just spent a bit of time on this before & after math class... Had quite the not fast as usual T1, considering that I usually see times around 15.2xx. Same goes for T2 where I think I bumped the wall? And then the left hander after the long straight I took at least 8mph too slow.

15.417
33.995
59.400

Improvements to come.

I tried this again today, I know I can go faster I just need to pull it together.
I will try again tomorrow, but I have seen a 59:1xx at T3:).

This is a great combo MisterWeary 👍 ... tricky in the first few turns but still very nice to drive. best save so far has 15.164 / 33.666 / 58.680

seen faster splits of 15.0/33.5/58.5 but lost my ass on the last section and almost flew into the bridge :dopey: woohoo :P

Will be going back for more without a doubt!

I have some new T time's, but I don't have them wrote down right now.
I'll get them later.:sly:
I do have to say, I'm having alot of fun on this race. Five out of five from me MisterWeary.

Here the best I could muster so far. Well see what I got after sunday.

T1: 15.331
T2: 33.900
T3: 59.282

Well this is wierd. I've never submitted this early ever.

I'm going away for a week on schoolies (Woooo!). So you guys get until next Saturday without me. I hope you don't miss me too much!

Anyway I only gave a quick 15 minutes, so I'll probably be last again.

PS: On a side note, there seems to be this killer party going on next door, and I wasn't invited! Bahh

I'm on trial in this mountain, and my defense is pretty weak so far.....I'm going to need the 'Dream Team' to plead my case!

So far:

15.665
34.489
59.565

"What do you mean, the 'Dream Team' is no longer available?"

I guess the DS2 is the way to go this week. DFP lacks the realism.. :indiff:
