:: GT4 WRS Week 94 ::
This week we are racing at Tokyo R246 in the Amemiya Asparadrink RX7 (JGTC) ’04. This car is a true grip master. However, I wonder how it will fair with Racing-Super Hard tyres? :sly:

Immediate thoughts are this should be fantastic. I remember a long time ago (months at least) that they had this car against some tuner Celica in a one week comparison thing. And based on that, I'm positive this will be a popular week.

Geez, save the pic in high quality for petes sake...
Tokyo looks like a nice track for this, I think I'll enjoy this a lot 👍

I've spent quite a bit of time here in the game itself. Let's see if it's all going to pay off

but pete probably won't come back with the stick you threw... :P

anywayz looks good this combo does, will give it a crack... whilst i am floating about...

Somebody has to go first; why not somebody most everybody can beat ;)

T1 - 0:14.091
T2 - 0:54.614

This car is stll very grippy, even with R1s. The tires do, however, create plenty of smoke.

Oh, you're good. :sly:
Sphinx, this is a perfect example of how either good sense or testing can pay off (I know all the others before you did this).

None the less, using the super hard tires on Tokyo is brilliant. The course is wide open, use something too soft and you've got an easy lap with easy turns and braking- use super hards and suddenly you've got a challenge. 👍

Just saying,
Great Job With Race Selection. 👍

Eeek. Having to figure out the breaking points and corner speeds one by one. i feel like i've never driven this course before.

Some innitial splits:

T1: 14.386
T2: 55.935

i see much improvement for me this week. I can hardly drive this thing.

[EDIT]
Just tweaked the gears to 290, wow what a difference.

T1: 14.146
T2: 54.626

I second that. The car is not overly powered, so it should handle those 380HP easily. R1s have a smooth transition between gripping and loosing it, for racing tyres at least.
And a wonderful track, as well. I really like that track, though the reverse has, in my opinion, a better 'flow' to it. Seems like I'll add another track to the 'learnt' list...

I just hope I'll have time, with the exam-season starting tomorrow.

Yes, against all other JGTC GT300 cars - Apex' MR-2, ASL Garaiya, Cusco Advan Impreza, and the Amemiya and Celica.

This courses sweeping corners sure are interesting. (Should I brake here or here or just let off a little....crap, restart) :dopey:

Played for 30-45 min. before bed.
T1 13.869
T2 54.306

I am going by the start/finish at about 157 or so and I don't let off the gas in the "S" before T2. Hope that helps get some people going.

New splits:

T1: 14.131
T2: 54.585

That'll be all for tonight.

and I don't let off the gas in the "S" before T2.

I've been having to lift to keep from slamming the wall, hope i manage to find the line for that.

well this thing is a bit of a snail, but at least it is predictable to drive, and you can get up to pace with it fairly quick, after a quick dozen lap dash...

13.828 (13.7xx)
53.557

another 0.3-0.5 left in it max for me, very nearly at my target time for the week...

guys, gearing please? if i use 290 like inferno i dont reach that topspeed at the end of the s/f straight, but if i use a lower gearing it maxes out. first (slow) t's:

14.397 - 56.339 - lap a full second faster!

jerry: another very good combo! 👍

as long as you get a good line out of the last corner, just flat foot it all the way down the strait, slam on the breaks just as you pass the second red sign at the end of the strait. i havent quite figured out the turn in point but you should be clipping the inside rumble at about 60-65 ish. (mph that is)

After having worked on this track a bit in arcade mode, I came up with the following

1: 0'14.237
2: 0'55.315
You maintain a sense of balance in the midst of great success.
Your lucky numbers are 3, 12, 34, 7, 15, 20

Hopefully a good sign :dopey:

I love this car and I love this track. Can't wait to get back home so I can run it! Skull and crossbones does it again 👍

I actually didn't have this car yet, so I had to have Bobby run the Fuji 1000km last night while I was sleeping. Won't have time to give it a go until tomorrow night though most likely. Maybe tonight if I'm lucky.

Just did a few practice laps. This one me likey :sly:

T1: 13.828
T2: 53.257

Will give it a more serious go later this week 👍

Edit: Used 290 gearing

Had some laps and seen a 13.5 T1 screwed it up though!

13.887
52.899

300 auto

Div2 DS2

Cool race 👍

Edit: Scrap that I was using Racing Hards :dunce:
Thought it was too good to be true

After getting aquainted with the car I managed some times for a start:
T1: 14.253
T2: 55.018

This is just for the sake of getting a reference, not a fast lap. I'm just waiting for Ron's guide this week.

Well, here are my first splits, after about 20 laps or so...

RSH tires, 290 gears.

T1: 14.201
T2: 55.168

Edit: Oh, and I've got to agree with Kent -- this is an AWESOME race! Just the right amount of challenge here -- it will absolutely get a '5' vote from me on the poll next week.
