Get rid of the motorkhana instead. What's the purpose of that area again?? It doesn't work at all. Atleast the LV Strip WORKS!! Plus it's flat, and the test course has a slight elevation change so they need to stay seperate.

Are you kidding? Gymkhana is the absolute best place to test cars for their grip and drift capabilities without the usual worry of sand, grass, or a wall ruining everything.

....I wish there were a way to watch a Gymkhana replay, though. :grumpy:

Yeah... I actually used it to get the suspension on my NSX Type R Zero at RVV (1997 S Zero) dialed in. It's quite a nice tool.

This is gonna sound weird, but I recently discovered the joy of Gymkaana (however you spell it). I was trying to drift a car that I knew could drift (forget which one)...but within the limitations of the tracks, I kept getting frustrated.

Gymkhana helps to narrow down a car's grip abilities via settings, so that drifting can become more prominent.

Bah, go against me. :P It would be good if gymkhana was actually working. Yeah, you can get the best 3rd/4th gear donut drifts (80-100km/h) on there, but you should be able to get that going at Motegi Speedway or Test Course too, the straights are wide enough. :)

As for a useless car to start with. I think it would be the Citroen 2CV. IT DOESN'T MOVE ON STANDING STARTS!
I had to get bumped up to speed in able to race it. Otherwise it was doing like 3 mph.
If you give it too much power that happens

If you modify it too much the power curve gets so screwed up it won't move. Clicky. There's a better thread somewhere though

Seeing as people are also naming the most useless tracks. I changed the title.

And yes. The 2cv shouldnt be modified, i love how its the only car ever where its actually SLOWER when its tuned!!!

Ulysses S. Grant? ;)

I'm on my way to trying to prove the Element isn't useless right now. I got it to do a pretty good 0-60 time so far. Working on the understeer problem later tonight most likely.

I find the Honda Z and Today G to be very useless, I remember the car rolling back when I was flooring it up a hill from standstill. :( This is Gran Turismo 4, a racing game. Why are there cars here that has specs that couldn't even embarrass a lawnmower?
SKYLINES - R32 GTR, R33 GTR, R34 GTR... do we need more standard GTRs R32-R34?
The standard GTRs are fine by me, they are lighter than the rest of the GTRs (excluding tuner ones and JGTC ones etc).

Never drove the Today, but in GT2, the Honda Z was pretty useless 'till I tweaked it. But to get it tweaked, this meant getting most of the high-performance parts! Including transmission (the stock one is too tall for such a puny engine....)

Useless cars-The original 3 wheeled midget and the motor carriages all 'special cars' and the Model T.

Useless tracks- Begginner courese and fuji speedway 80's or 90's they are too close too much alike knix one of them and move on.

My biggest mistake...well not having a backup data of my 100% save :grumpy:.The memory card that had the data broke(The chips fell out).Good thing my other memory car had GT3 data(im such a cheater;)

I can feel this thread is about to close, since there's been scores like it before.

But, I'll add my list:

Fiat 500... sure, it's a crappy car and we all knew how it handled, and it's fun to drive, but do we really need 3 different models that handle the same way? Take two out and add some more of the cooler ones!

Honda Element... even under RTST tuning, I can't get it past 192 kph in La Sarthe... and that's in 2nd gear! 1st gear goes up to 140 kph and I've never even tried 3rd and 4th. It's heavy as an elephant and handles like crap.

i had to keep myself from hitting the report button there.

the 500 is a good car for off road, and plus, it makes a good mini-rally car, and also, the Element makes a good rally car, too.

but anyway, here are the ones on my hate list:

Daihatsu Midget, and Midget II D-type-- pointless trucks, they don't even count as pick-ups, so whats the point of having them?

Volvo 240 GLT Estate-- i like the 240, but put in either the 240 GT or the 240 Turbo Intercooler, not the Estate, the thing was an indestructible brick that could easily be outrun by a stock Oddysey.

Honda Oddysey-- the new one, which is never going to hit the states, sucks. it sucks. i timed the stock Element, and the stock Oddysey, and the Element is a whole minute faster(on seattle circuit). i understand PDs idea of putting more vehicle types into GT4, but please, Kaz, if you're reading this, you should've put in the older Oddysey, the new 4WD one sucks. the older FF one would've been much better!

You disagree with him for nominating the fiat 500, but then YOU call the volvo usuless, if we had the turbo intercooler it would be too fast to be fun, its right in that gap, inbetween hilariously slow, and normal. Which makes it hilarious, but fast enough to actually race. Instead of hammering it around the ring trying to break 10 minutes!!! ;)

And yes, the oddysey is crappy. Give us the FF one!

The problem with the Odyssey isn't that it's AWD, the problem is that it has a puny, torqueless 4-cylinder engine. This makes sense in a lighter Civic, but in a 3,700 pound minivan it's almost a joke.

I don't understand why PD (or Honda) didn't use the popular 3.5 liter V6 instead. Just think, perhaps we could get NSX-ish power! That would make all the difference.

Also, most people don't know this but PD screwed up the stats for the Odyssey. 3rd-gen versions weigh upwards of 4,200 pounds, instead of 3,700 as the game states. If PD had got this right, though, the Odyssey would be TOTALLY useless, as its power-to-weight ratio would be so far off the charts.
